Things never work as per the plan. I still remember the (men's) ODI world cup in 1999. Everyone expected South Africa to lift the trophy. But they lost to Australia in the semi-finals, because Herschel Gibbs dropped a very important catch and then Lance Klusener got run out in the last over. It was heart-break for South Africa back then. Anyway, we need to remember that Australia ends up in the winning side most of the times when such incidents occur. I would give almost equal chances to both India and Australia for the semi-finals. For the Indian women, it is not something unimaginable to defeat Australia.

Bangladesh women's cricket team has not yet reached the expected level. Don't call it their failure. I think they need more practice and have to gather more experience. The recent performance of the Bangladesh women's team has not been good. The team is weak, the players are not in good form. I had high expectations from this team. Ireland's team situation is similar. But they had a chance to do a little better.

On the other hand, Indian team players are in great form now. So this match will be very competitive, and it will not be a surprise if India wins.

They are just bossing around and belting every single team in this tournament. Fair to say they both will play in the Finals unless India wins against the Aussies in the semis.

Both England and Australia had full fledged franchise T20 leagues for women, when boards such as the BCCI were completely ignoring the women's game. And that is being reflected in the world cup as well. BCCI initially tried delaying tactics, by organizing a few meaningless exhibition matches in between the men's IPL. They decided to go for the WPL only after Rameez Raja announced the launch of WPSL. But it will take some time for the Indian women to catch up with the Poms and the Aussies. And the quality of women's domestic cricket in India remains appalling.

Women cricket is dominated by England, Australia, and New Zealand only. Every other country, including India, is no match against these 3 big teams. I think WIPL will do same impact what men IPL has done to Indian cricket team. These leagues are just to generate revenue and have very little for betterment of cricket. Ramiz Raja game is over and so is WPSL. South Asia is male dominated society and not much attention is given to women sports.

After that India ranks 3 and they performed quite well since 2017 wc, they were finalists. New Zealand and South Africa are better in terms of fitness level but they are behind in pecking order.

I guess Australia + India + England + South Africa are looking favorites to play in the semis.

The first 3 are obvious choices, Kiwis could've been 4th choice but SA is playing at home so I'll put them slightly ahead in the competition (they lost the first match but still).

If not, then surely we are up for some upsets.

It was expected that they wouldn't be able to qualify for the semi-finals. But, Yeah, they could have tried to win at least one match against any team. South Africa Womens team beated them really bad. Bangladeshi bowlers were unable to create chances. They missed a run out. I didn't watched the full match but I saw some highlights from the match. Yeah, they have a lot of things to improve.

@JSRAW I’m not surprised to see Aussies and England woman dominate this cup, but team India has done well to reach the semis but now they face the ultimate test when they play against Australia and I have a feeling that they won’t win hence I don’t expect any miracle from them. Furthermore I expect Australia to beat England in the finals, and lastly there’s no doubt in my mind that this will be an entertaining match as both the team’s are equally strong.

Bangladesh always surprises me. A country of 200+ million people they are.. and majority are crazy for cricket. Being a test nation for the last 24 years. Bordering one of the super-powers in world cricket. Despite all these facts, they have underperformed in both men's and women's international cricket. Talent available with individual players such as Shakib al Hasan and Litton Das is not getting transformed to wins for the national team. The same goes for women's cricket as well in that country. They have talented players including Jahanara Alam and Nigar Sultana. But this time they failed to win even a single match.

Sadly, I don't have high hopes for the match against England women.

South Africa Women team is really strong as compared to Bangladesh women team and they definitely had to win this match . This is may be due to home ground advantage as they knew the grounds but they made this to semi finals that's the point .
Bangladesh,  Pakistan  both teams really disappointed their fans as their performances were really bad. They need to work on their mistakes to win tournament in future.

Now current run rate is 3.89 while the required run rate is 16.3 which can't be chaseable from Pakistani team. One thing is confirmed that they will lose this match no matter how good they will perform.

It is ridiculous that Pakistan will play to win with a target of 214 runs. The Pakistan Women's Party did not make such a big collection. Even if the target was 140 in this match, Pakistan could not have won. Because England women's bowlers are very experienced. It is also very difficult to score 120/130 runs against them. However, the Pakistan women's team faced a batting disaster early on when they came down to bat with a huge target of 214 runs. They lost 3 wickets to collect only 15 runs. And at the end of 18.5 overs, Pakistan collected only 91 runs. Pakistan women's team could not collect even 100 runs.

Pakistan women's team still proved its immaturity especially in today's match performance. If a team cannot use the power play in a T20 match, it is very difficult to win that match. It was not just Pakistan vs West Indies match Pakistan women performance was bad throughout the tournament specially their balling was very weak for a world cup . That's why they didn't make it to the semi-finals,  batting side was OK but balling was not up to the mark .

I don't think that training with the men's team will be a good idea. Guys like Naseem and Shaheen are at least 20 mph faster than the fastest female bowler in international cricket. The women players are at a serious risk of injury, if they practice with the men. PCB has taken the initial step of organizing WPSL. Both PCB and BCCI were late to realize the potential of women's cricket and only now they are waking up from their deep slumber. Anyway from here, things can only get better for the Pakistan women, given that now the board as well as the PSL franchises are interested in their game.
