There were 74 matches for the 2022 edition, and number of matches may go up slightly in the future. In total they may get 400-500 matches in the 5 year period. So the average spending comes down to approximately ₹50 crore per match. If the number of matches remain the same, then they are spending ₹63.72 crore per match. I am not sure how they will get returns anywhere near their investment. And they are solely depending on the advertisement revenue.

Viacom 18 is a product of Reliance industries. They gave free unlimited 4G data for a year before launching JIO. They are again giving unlimited 5G data till a pan India launch. Still their revenue hasn't declined and niether has the revenue of Viacom18. It'll still remain ad driven product as JIO already has close to 400+ Million active users in India. Apart from selling Subriciptions of JIO internet, JIO TV, JIO Music, apps (indirect revenue) etc it has a supermarket business too, which sells goods to its subscribers. Consumers will get all facilities on a single platform and they'll keep using it. It would give JIO the upper hand when dealing with ad rates as well.
