Could be accidentally diverted due to mechanical failure or something else wrong with the plane.

So what would that mean, the plane spontaneously took control of itself, turned off it's own transponder and the backup, then rose up sharply to cut off the crew's air supply, then finally turned sharply in a random direction and flew until plummeting into the Indian Ocean? Is that about right? These are modern aircraft with layers and layers of redundant systems built upon each other to prevent every single one of those malfunctions from happening, or from crippling the plane. I'm not saying accidents don't happen but it seems like if you don't think the plane was hijacked, then you must believe in one hell of a crazy string of coincidences and mechanical failures all happening at just the right times...

I didn't say it took control of itself, but it could of suffered some damage or mechanical or electrical failure then the pilots mightve done what they needed to. Lets face it, you know as much as I or anybody else does. Not a lot.

Patent on what exactly?  Point me to the patent, and show me evidence JR now owns it. The chip you mentioned is a bog standard ARM core thats being used in hundreds of millions of chips, the design is property of ARM holdings and Freescale licensed it (along with about 2 dozen other companies).  No one holds a patent on it, you dont patent chip designs, they fall under copyright,  but whatever patents are applicable to the design will belong to ARM not freescale, and much less freescale engineers (*). Dont you realize that engineers working for a company do not own the inventions that they patent, they belong to the company that employs them? In the end, Freescale is already the assignee... so I think that means they already own the patent?  The others, whether on the flight or not, were the inventors. Regardless, this Jacob guy isn't mentioned anywhere.

Not really. When looking at other patents, this seems like a somewhat normal time frame. I dislike coincidences, but this seems to be one that is justified.

With all of this being said, engineers themselves are valuable. These are smart guys. I'd be leaning towards modern day slavery before I would be looking at this patent. Wouldn't be too hard to kidnap someone and force them to work for you, it's been done plenty in the past
