Thank you so much for making it a discussion thread. IPL is one of the biggest cricketing event and we don't have any discussion thread specific to it, normally IPL is discussed in "T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion" thread. IPL is starting on 2nd April 2022, will be right back if I have anything to say about IPL.

That announcement released my tension. Thank you so much.

Now you people will have to bear my critical analysis on the matches and some inside stories live from the stadium on this thread  , which will help you make more accurate bets on ipl matches

Not only you many have welcomed this move of making this thread a discussion one, previously only participants were allowed to comment here. IPL is bigger event then T20 WC and there must be some dedicated thread to such big cricket  event.

Also, I have seen that JSRAW made another thread (OPEN) IPL 2022 Prediction Pool -Will begin on 26 March- where I think the participants can join the betting on IPL. It's good that we can have this thread dedicated for IPL discussions.

Yeah, not only IPL but also PSL is a bigger event than the T20 world cup. I will surely make a dedicated thread for PSL discussions also.

PSL is exciting as we see quality pace attack there but it's still no where near IPL or T20 WC. Only in the world BCCI can afford such mega league. The pays given in PSL are very low compared to IPL. In IPL we have stars from all over the world. I enjoy both PSL and IPL and I am so happy that Lahore Qalandars won this time.

Few of the South African players may not be available in the initial matches of IPL as their first moral commitment should be to play for the series against Bangladesh. Franchises in BIG trouble as South Africa name 8 IPL-bound players in ODI squad for Bangladesh series

CSA earlier confirmed that the choice between the Test series and the IPL would be left to the players while Test captain Dean Elgar suggested the choice would show "where players' loyalty lies".

Although the board has given the choice to the players, now its up to the players to be loyal to the country or to be loyal to the money Franchise

^^ Cricketers should always give priority to there national duties first, but at the same time i can understand if some players giving more weightage to any high paying gig over low profile bilateral series, considering their career is not long.

Every one of em is professional cricketer and every player should be very clear about their availability and rules regulation with respecting league before throwing their hat into auction. Mental illness, injury or some sort of mishap are acceptable conditions as far as franchise/league are concern and everyone try their best to support the players. we have countless examples in the IPL. Stokes, Smith, Warner, Archer, Bravo, Nortje etc comes to my mind.

But if some players leaving their respective franchise in middle out of nowhere, without any reason or breaking the contract after auction then every franchise/league has every right to ignore them completely. Its their choice because its pure business and they are not running a charity.

Haven't been doing my cricket rounds for a while, just in general too busy and too remote to do serious follow ups but MI are ripe to bet against today, do you guys think? Just feel like they bowed out too easy last time around.

@JSRAW I share your feelings about leaving in a good way. Everyone will understand and even support you if you have to take an enforced leave. Even if you explain it first and people disagree, at least you gave enough notice first. It's a universal human thing, there is right, there is wrong, and sure there's a lot of gray too but anyway...

Finally the wait is over and IPL 2022 is on its way. CSK are batting as toss belongs to KKR. CSK have lost early wicket of   Ruturaj Gaikwad and score is 15/1 in 2.2 overs. I know its too early to predict but I am voting for CSK to win this match. Just because of the reason CSK are defending champions and they have Dohni.
