Considering IPL20, this time the participants are very low. We had almost 20+ participants (if I'm not wrong) that time while we are so far 7 only? Is fee the issue as last time the entry fee was ~$10 while it’s more than twice now?

The high price of BTC messed up everything I guess.

Though $25usd is considered as poverty level in my country, But I think if the entry fee was the same as last year, we would get some more participants.
Moreover, many people do not know about this pool yet,
For those who have vacant signature space or personal text space, there would have been some publicity If they had added the name of our pool to their vacant space.

A lot of us are participating in various signature campaigns and we earn more than this amount in one week. Last time also, the fee was kept at BTC0.001 (this time it was actually reduced to BTC0.0004). Personally I thought that last time it was extremely beneficial for the participants. The entry fee constituted just around 20% of the pool, while the remaining 80% came from the sponsors. I haven't seen any other pool here in this forum, which was so lop-sided towards the participants. Given this, I actually expected a 2x increase in the participants for this year's pool.

This is exactly why I repeatedly mentioned that $10 was the optimal entry point and doubling it might not be beneficial since it could detract some participants from joining.

Another point that I noticed is that several participants who joined in the IPL 2020 pool were inactive majority of the time. This is probably another reason for the drop in the number of participants.

I agree that these pools are quite generous, but money is money whether it is signature campaign earnings or anything else which is why $20 is way too high for some participants which is why I expected a drop in the number of participants.

In terms of fiat, it may be 2x when compared to last time. But in terms of BTC, it is 2.5x lower. But for a tournament that lasts two months, is this is large amount? $25 is like the minimum amount which you can deposit in many of the gambling sites. I am quite disappointed with the response from other users, after the amazing success we had in 2020. Also, feels bad for Royse777 who spent a lot of time and effort to organize this pool.

How many are we now? 9? Quite disappointing!
Will the reward system be same as the last year we had? Last year, we had round winners but this time, as so far no sponsor is there, the pool amount will be small and if there's round prize, pool winners will get a very small amount. I would prefer removing that considering that the pot is low.

Yes The main reason for the relatively low noise about the IPL this time is that most of the games are being played without spectators. BCCI Already has announced that a crowd-free game will be held. If the spectators could enter the field, the hype might have been a bit more.

I believe you can not make a selection once the match starts. That's what is standard in foodball so it should be the same in cricket too.

Mumbai is very consistent team and if we religiously follow their consistency then they should lose the inauguration match. They have been losing every first game for quite sometime. Then after losing first game they get their shit together.

Wrong. IPL 2020 was held in a similar fashion and it turned out to be one of the most successful seasons of the IPL so far primarily due to the vast number of people watching online.

Also, no hype around IPL 2021? Nonsense. The name IPL itself implies hype these days in the Cricket world. The only thing that many people including me are worried about is the pandemic(PSL etc).

There’s a good chance that Mumbai will again dominate this IPL and possibly win the title as well. Nevertheless, they have to play without Surya Kumar Yadav as he is injured in the last series against England. That will be a big challenge for MI. He was great at his position.

You can pick as long as match doesn’t start. You can pick after the toss and that's good since you can predict the margin perfectly (I mean it’s possible).

They are just too good, their team and management both are excellent and they don't even spend too much money on players when auctions takes place, they always avoid buying players above certain price tag (10 crore).

The BCCI don't want one of the franchises to dominate the IPL, and that is why they have put strict cap on player salaries. But as we have seen in the past, despite all this the Mumbai Indians are dominating the tournament. So it is up to the BCCI to consider whether they want to keep these ridiculous salary caps, or should they allow free competition. I would prefer maximum freedom for the franchises, similar to the case with EPL.

Heard that they conduct 9-10 mock auction before any real auction. One of the reason other franchise get rekt when up against them during the auction despite purse limitation is same for all.

With my surprise and a regret too, we were not able to manage any sponsor in this IPL. I always felt there were not much interest around with this IPL. We did not have many participants, there used to be regulars in cricket section and many of them are missing. Wherever they are, I hope they are well. This could be an effect of Covid-19 pandemic.

Anyway, I will convert the LTC in a few days and will send them to the BTC address. The Main topic has been updated, please have a look and if you have any suggestion then feel free to write here.
