It is surprising to note that last year's champion (SaShiRaJaVu) hasn't joined the pool yet. Also there are a few other familiar names who haven't made their decision. I am surprised with the cold response. The entry fee was kept at a very low level, so I don't think that it was a factor. Hopefully things will change in the next few days and we'll be having a large number of participants before the tournament starts. 

The community for Cricket on this forum is very small. If you see the pools we have for Football then you will see there are many people who are interested in it. The other reason is, many people do not want to give out money from their pocket and for them it could be a lot of money too. $10 - $20 is a good amount for people in South Asia.

Pandemic is playing a good role too I think.

I am interested and will mostly join in in a few days or at least before the registrations end. I suck at predicting IPL matches but this should be fun none the less. Hope this contest gets a green light. I think there's an additional issue these days when it comes to the ease of making transactions. You can have entry fee as small as you like but still the fees to send that crypto makes you 2nd guess yourself if you really want to join in or not. Can't wait for the transaction fees to subside but it doesn't seem like it will happen anytime soon.

$10 - $20 is a good amount for people in South Asia.

This is exactly why I suggested sticking to the $10 entry point even though $20 is still relatively low. I guess more people might end up joining soon since the deadline is set to expire soon.

I sent a 0.005 BTC transaction today and chose 10 sats/byte as the fee which got confirmed within an hour. How? I posted my TX hash in the below thread and Spider helped accelerate it for free.

Less than 1 week left and so far very cold response from the community, may be because people were out of the work for sometime due to covid or may be entry fees are bit high considering our targeted audience are from the subcontinent. I think we should rethink our fee structure again for the next pools.

Is there any update on how many participants joined as of now? Without having at least 10 members, I don't think it’s going to be fun & competitive enough like we had last year.

So far 6 participants in the pool. @vennali and @eaLiTy might join as well with you in next couple of days, they already showed their interest so i think we should get close to 10 if you 3 guys join the pool.

If I remember correctly, this happened during the last time as well. More than half of the participants joined at the last minute. But all this makes it really hard to get a decent sponsor. Last time, we had a very supportive sponsor and this time also I would be overjoyed if we get the same sponsor. And that said, with IPL being the largest franchise T20 league in the world right now, it will be a shame if we don't reach a good number of participants.

I've seen a news today that India is going to under weekly Lockdown because of the highest single day covid-19 detection. Near around 0.1 million new cases recorded yesterday, it is the height single day count till now. The big question now is whether such an unpleasant incident will affect the IPL 2021!

Not India but 1 major city Mumbai going into partial lock down which is contributing more than 60% of Covid cases in India. BCCI gave statement that its too late to move the Venue (From Mumbai to other states) and Mumbai Cricket Association seems to be very confident (or may be over confident) that there would be no problem for IPL despite partial lock down and Covid.

BCCI gave statement that its too late to move the Venue (From Mumbai to other states) and Mumbai Cricket Association seems to be very confident (or may be over confident) that there would be no problem for IPL despite partial lock down.

There will be lockdown but eveyone will have regular outing and that's India and other countries in South Asia. 😂

Joined the pool successfully. Surprised to see only 7 participants so far. Also, it feels like April 2020 all over again which is seriously messed up considering the fact that several vaccines have already been mass produced.

As @JSRAW mentioned, most cases are from Maharashtra which is why I surprised that BCCI hasn't shifted venus. I hope IPL 2021 doesn't get screwed because of this decision.

I just joined the pool at Superbru. I can see 5 other participants (roysesuper, kpk333, famLFC, Little Mouse and SwordsRex). Feels nostalgic to be part of the IPL pool once more. Last time I had a good tournament, as I was able to win two rounds. And I hope that before the tournament we will witness the participation of more users. And I am looking forward to last year's champion ShashiRaJaVu.
