I get where you coming from mate, but take for example you aspire to become a hard working lecturer or teacher in this country of low income and you have family to carter for. Then you happen to write a text book, with your experience and numerous research. You fixed a price and only for you to have people photocopying your work to have it for free or at a low price, I personally feel e go hurt anybody. Although I don’t know how NFT would solve this issue, but since the world is becoming a digital village, and the advent of crypto-currency has digitally tackled some issues with traditional finances actives, I hope something would come up in future.

School no be the one weh people go come out from after many years and come begin waka up and down for several years in search of job and shoe go come chop. At the end self how much weh them deh pay if na entry level for government work. Level 8 weh be entry position for government work salary na N55,000 monthly. Who be ASUU ? Who be FG? All of them na the same people na. Personally, I no dey surprise by the incessant strike. These people wey dey ASUU during the last election for 2019 na them be returning officers wey help rig the election to allow these politicians hold power today. So na dem dem. For countri wey everything dey work well, by now NLC, NUC, NUJ, and all those union suppose to don shook mouth put for the matter because na education. But them just leave everything like that....me sef I just tire. Them no just value education and na this thing dey pain me pass. How we go take progress without education? Abeg, if you know anybody weh still dey school make una tell them to develop the mindset of being self employed. E get why.
Everybody no fit be self-employed na. Some people actually wan read book, graduate, work for company.

The AON (airline operators of Nigeria) have announced that there is going to be a shut down of domestic flights from Monday, 9th of May 2022, due to the hike in the price of aviation fuel
I am pretty sure quite a lot of us have seen this news already, for those who have not, this is the latest development at the moment in our country, travelers would no longer be able to board planes from one destination to another within the country till further notice as the AON bemoans the high cost of aviation fuel, claiming it moved from 190 naira per litre to 700 naira per litre, that is an astronomical increase if the information is correct, and that has been the reason why the cost of flights in the past months has been extremely high, i am sure those who travel by air here noticed the increase. So, should this shut down take effect on Monday, it is going to inconcenience quite a lot of people who travel by air, and i am pretty sure some of us here constantly travel by air, especially when we are heading to a far destination, like moving from the West to the East, or from the East to the North, etc. I think quite a lot of people would have to reschedule their travel plans (as long as it is not urgent) and wait till all of this is resolved than travel by road. If your means of transportation within states in the country is by air, what is going to be the alternative should this problem linger, i can't comment on this cause i do not travel by air within the country as i do not have enough money for that. The news: https://www.okay.ng/fuel-hike-airlines-to-shut-down-domestic-operations-from-monday/ This issue is only becoming a news only because it's affecting or going to affect the average rich to the well rich and wealthy Nigerians. The price of cooking Kerosene which is the most popular available and supoosed affordable thing that the poor naija people are using for cooking (kero stove) have increased in price from #200 we used to by a litre to about #700 now yet no news or noise is made. Maybe cause it's irrelevant since the rich have moved to gas usage. Which recently made the rounds about the sudden increment, and now it's aviation fuel turn which is now making another rounds. Am not supporting the hike in aviation fuel or because maybe I don't use airline as means of transportation but the issue here is why it's only when a matter affects the wealthy in this country that it becomes important?? Abi other people na adopted Nigerians?

Please do not make multiple posts in a row mate, just merge them into one. And just so the thread can look aesthetically pleasing, try not to quote a long post completely, when quoting it, you can either clear out everything and leave something like '<snip>' there, or just clear out the part you do not need, and leave the ones you want to directly reply to (just as i did right now with your post). You can find out more information about how to do it in the link below: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3749076
Now back on the topic, i think all pressing issues in the country are important, whether it is a hike in price of kerosine, fuel, aviation fuel or what have you, a hike in any of these commodities affect every citizen irrespective of financial level, for example, one average individual in normal circumstances spends 30,000 naira per month on energy for his home (be it money for cooking gas, electricity, etc), another rich person spends a million naira on the same thing in his more sophisticated home, if there is a hike in price, and the former now spends 60,000 naira, and the latter, 2 million naira, it clearly affects the both of them as they are made to spend more than normal. The news is popular not because it affects the 'wealthy' like you said, but because it is the latest negative 'development' in our country, domestic flights can't even be said to be for the wealthy, for example, in normal circumstances a flight from the South West to the South East should not cost more than 25-30k naira when you are flying in the Economy class, and with that price, an individual who is fairly comfortable without too many financial responsibilities can afford it, it is the same hike in aviation fuel that has made the price to skyrocket, making it unaffordable atm, the very reason why they are completely shutting down till further notice. Finally, this negative 'development' would not even affect the wealthy like you presume, the wealthy would still board private jets, and pay for private planes and go to wherever they want to go to unhindered.

Abeg, if you know anybody weh still dey school make una tell them to develop the mindset of being self employed. E get why.
Everybody no fit be self-employed na. Some people actually wan read book, graduate, work for company. Sha just tell them first. Because na people like that people deh tell good morning for evening. By the time them know wetin deh happen frustration go don rub them everywhere. 9ja na real tough place to survive. The AON (airline operators of Nigeria) have announced that there is going to be a shut down of domestic flights from Monday, 9th of May 2022, due to the hike in the price of aviation fuel.
Shebi they increased the fare the other time. They should go ahead and increase it again na, why trying to shut it down. Increase it, let only those who can afford it continue. This sitting national assembly is the worst in history. They can not do anything. Nothing at all. Not even question any ministry or parastatals or president Buhari self. I miss the Kenn Nnamani and Bukola Senate. If na those ones Buhari for deh hot seat by now.

Topic: Old Nigeria Currencies Till dateINTRO===== How well do you know the of history Nigerian currency and which of the currency was the lowest denomination in your eye when you been begin know difference between stick candy and cabin biscuit? I know say old people they here and young lad also they here, so make we share some knowledge on how the country currency take reach where we dey today. Nigeria's currency don changed and transitioned over some time due independency, civil war, changes in government, CBN policy to battle inflation, redesigning of the texture to battle money laundering and the quest to build one of the standard currencies around the world. If I could remember very well, I once had an opportunity to go through my grandma's old stuff before she been kick bucket, they are so good at keeping old stuff even the ones they don't need again and guess what I found, I saw some shillings notes and coins in metal box that are no longer in circulation, it was small when compare with the current ones (that was round 2006) and the colour was so gleemed and smell like of old mint money but little did I know about our currency until I recently started doing some research on old Nigerian currencies and their date issued and year they were discarded. How many old britished currencies did we used and the year they where created, what are the current ones use that are in circulation and which materials was that used and later been replaced are discussed. THE BRITISH OLD COINS================== Right before we became an independent nation, Nigeria was using the cowries and beads to they exchange good and services but as colonial people carry their wahala come shows us say them sabi way of life and them better pass us, different ethnicity were forced to form as one and we begin the use of the british coins, thats was how the used of penny, pence and shillings begin, the date they were created and issued are all in the tale below. After a few years, the materials used to make some of the coins was changed. In 1908, the material used to make the ½(Half) penny was changed from Aluminum to Cupro-Nickel, and in 1920, the penny and shillings coins were changed to Brazz. Name of Coins | | | Date issued | | | Date Witdrawn | | | Material Used | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | 1/10 penny | | | 1907 | | | 1973 | | | cupro-nickel | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | ½(Half) penny | | | 1911 | | | 1973 | | | Aluminium | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | 1 penny | | | 1907 | | | 1973 | | | cupro-nickel | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | 3 pence | | | 1913 | | | 1973 | | | Silver | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | 6 Pence | | | 1913 | | | 1973 | | | Silver | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | 1 Shillings | | | 1913 | | | 1973 | | | Silver | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | 6 Shillings | | | 1913 | | | 1973 | | | Silver
Nb: The coins are listed in order of their Magnitude(value) and not their issued date in order to make it neat and readableSome photos of British coins, some of which are presently up for auction and for sale on eBay. THE BRITISH WEST AFRICA OLD NOTES=========================== With some developments, 4 countries been joined body as one and formed the West African Currency Board (WACB) to create their own first bank note, with this notes, you can used it as an exchange to settle goods and service between Ghana, Gambia, Sierra lone and Nigeria. They introduce about 5 notes and which were unique in designed and were regulated under the british supervision. Name of Note | | | Date issued | | | Date Witdrawn | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | _________________ | | | 1 Shillings | | | 1918 | | | 1963 | | | 2 Shillings | | | 1916 | | | 1963 | | | 10 Shillings | | | 1916 | | | 1963 | | | 20 Shillings | | | 1916 | | | 1963 | | | 5 Pounds | | | 1958 | | | 1963
After our Independency, the west Africa old notes were removed form circulation and our first coins and bank notes were created , much didn't change till now except for the coins that were withdrawn from circulation and changes in some of Nigeria Bank notes from paper to polymer(#5,#10, #20 and #50). I didn't include the New notes because everyone here should be familiar with the polymer currencies and there is much difference between the old and the New, its just the texture designed and size. The Nigeria coins were discarded and withdrwans because they lack value, they couldn't buy anything in the society due to inflation just like the way #5 is no longer doing anything good in circulation. ============= Further Readings=============

Good work mate, allow me to appreciate you good work which I am very sure you went through a lot of research for that I remove my cap for you, but is this our history or the history written for us. If you want to talk about Nigerian only currency I feel make we go beyond they history they wrote for us, did you know that we once made trade through trade by batter, this was what one old men been Dey do, before them push to the use of cowries and maybe precious resources like gold and so on. Make we try no the let this men down. They foundation of Nigeria started before we even got the name Nigeria. It won’t be an easy research but it would be an interesting one for citizens and non citizens.

You don prove your name say you know how to cook data well well. Nice one baba. You do your research well. But I also know say there was a time when Central Bank of Nigeria bring back coins in the early 90s. I know of the N1 coin. Na paper note before government turn am to note. The thing heavy for pocket no be small and I believe say na wetin make the thing no last because people no deh like accept am. Na so the thing go they make noise for pocket if you carry am deh run as small pikin that time. Government quickly withdraw am.

Wehdone Cookdata for your efforts to put this topic together. I no get smerits, so I just drop the only one I get. The efforts wey you put to make this kind post for we local board, I like am. Wise men understand everything British people do us; 1. Dem give us another version of Education 2. Dem give us another version of Christianity 3. Even when we use their pounds the value differ, so them give us another version of money. Na true say dem develop us but still still dem exploit us join.
For me, the coin I don use buy groundnut, banana chewing gum, abiola milk na 50 kobo. I no witness the other currencies like Shilling and penny.

Concerning the rumors of the strike, firstly we have to understand that Asuu is not on any social media handle. So, I don't know how the news came about. We have to understand that we are living in a country where the government has little or no concern for it's citizens, and we have seen that the Minister of Education bought a presidential ticket worth 100million naira while it's university are currently shutdown due to lack of funds to pay lectuers. So nothing can amaze me in this country and I really hope that Crypto-currency will be a gateway for many Nigerians to survive especially the youths.

I follow hear the rumour but make we wait till tomorrow or this week to find out wetin deh sup. I asked myself when them come resolve the fight and why the press no deh there. Why e come be say na only rumour. Make we talk true self, if ASUU call off the strike now wetin be their achievement as nothing change abi some of their members don take bribe to compromise the struggle. No be small time again them go begin another strike. This matter as e don reach now suppose be once and for all.
