It would have been better if the link to what Binance argued about was included but was not. Please, can you provide any Binance link regarding this? I couldn't find any on google which makes me to doubt it to be a fake news.

Very possible it could be a fake news. Let us see if there is any Binance declaration about this just like when naira fiat/naira p2p trading pair was added Some months ago, last year. We can see on the news that Binance argued...which means there should be a link about that from Binance directly.

Binance argues that by using a specific local bank or e-wallet in the advertisement as a payment method before picking P2P users to transact with, it will reduce the possibility of disruptions since the counterparties can see in advance which bank is the preferred one for you to pay or receive money. This new feature will help reduce the delays that occur in P2P transactions, especially when it comes to intra-bank transactions.

To be sincere, I did not even yet understand what the news is all about, what delay? If there is any delay, the buyer can message the seller to provide another bank details.

I checked Binance and I did not see any bank among p2p users that Binance added in advance (which means we should be able to see it directly on their ads, but I couldn't see anything). Even if added, how would it stop bank delay?

As a p2p trader, we are all familiar with the banks that do not alert early (I am not saying people should depend on alert, sellers need to check there bank account balance to be certain that the buyer actually make payment). We know the banks that do have network problem often. Some p2p traders even include such bank on the p2p message page for the seller to see, that they do not pay into certain bank. P2p traders knows the bank to use for easy, fast and excellent transactions.

Any bank can have a network problem, how can this solve such problem when the banks are included in the ads? At least, I had some p2p transactions in the past that I later had to provide another bank account details. In my opinion, there is nothing bad to add the banks in advertisement, it is even good, but I do not see it that useful if Binance did not add it. Just good to always check your p2p message page if you want to sell or buy crypto or naira.

My brother na this kind wahala I dey always run enter with Ecobank during binace p2p. If I mistakenly do transaction for weekend, e no go ever reflect till Monday and before I notice I son already dey get poor rating for Binance app. E happen to me one day to the extent that e no even reflect for my statement of account and binance come relax my coin give the other party. My brother I gas rely on God for my 34k to drop.
Even the Monday I gas follow them up till evening na him the money drop. If them list banks e go make sense shaa. E go just dey semi-automated.

Crypto Trades Drive Naira to New Low in Unauthorized Market
I read this very interesting article on Bloomberg about our weakening currency. As we know the our naira is now 710 to the USD. One of factors that has been attributed to this is that there are more Nigerians accumulating cryptocurrencies to protect themselves from weakening naira. An instance according to the article is that as at today (27/07/2022),  Binance platform showed that Nigerians had conducted $103,691 of trades in digital currencies in the 24 hours to 10.36 a.m. when compared to the  $185 million of Bitcoin Nigerians traded on the platform in the first three months of the year.  

This Twitter user helped to explain what is happening



So essentially, importation in crypto trade is when Nigerians are according to Gwadabe¹, buying dollars to purchase digital assets.  I know that oga Godwin Emefiele made some bad calls that has got us into this mess however, I would love to know what you guys thiink as folks in the Nigerian Crypto community.

It would have been better if the government had made naira a strong currency, Nigerians that know about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies do not believe in naira as it makes savings more of lower value as the purchasing power decreases more over time. Can you see the rate of stable coins p2p trade? Which indicates that crypto oriented Nigerians even prefer their money to be in stable coins pegged with dollar which is still fiat.

Naira devaluation should more be linked to poor GDP (if compared to population), low exports, high imports, poor refineries, poor technology advancement.

I have seen some banks listed there directly, but offers are so limited if click on a bank directly unlike if you click on 'bank transfer' or 'all' which bring up more ads. But checking the ads directly using 'all' or 'bank transfer' which bring out more offers, the banks are not displayed.

As we know too, express can not make use of that and if someone want to make fast p2p transaction, they prefer to just sharply go for express.

Maybe the news is not fake though, but because of these above, the news sound fake as it is referring to fast transaction if the ads are included but which is not, it can not even be used for express.

Some of the listed bank have long history of transaction delay and high fees charges, and that make them not appealing to passive traders on binance. I been here something last time, say binace want open office for 9ja soon so may that is why dem dey try to add some 9ja banks to the list of their  p2p transactions to make things easy for 9ja traders and also generate more bank customers, but again I hope this move no go bring problem for users sake of say 9ja still never give cryptocurrency free hand to operate even though large portion of the population mostly youths still trade crypto using p2p, just like brainboss said person needs to be careful and to only use the listed bank by Binance since Binance should already have an understanding with those banks before enlisting into binance p2p payment method.

I get your point, you are right. At least, new banks are added, if truely they are added though, I have not noticed this for long and I can not still even go for the option for p2p trade.

I understand and you are right, but that does not guarantee faster transaction. Inter bank transactions are also fast, sending naira within the bank users can also be slow or not even connecting at all for sometimes in a way the sender will not be able to send money at all.

Binance added 21 banks across the African continent; however, 12 or 57% of those banks are Nigerian banks which include: Access Bank, Ecobank, Fidelity Bank, First Bank of Nigeria, FCMB, GTBank, Keystone Bank, Stanbic Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Sterling Bank, Zenith Bank, Union Bank of Nigeria. This suggests that a chunk of Binance’s P2P volume comes from the country.

I know how many appeal I get when I been actively dey trade there so I understand why binance dey bring all this new innovation. E get traders self wey dey like make you use same banks as the one dem dey send from because I don't think you can ever experience reversal while some banks don't allow sending of Kobo.

Gbam! I dey use binance and remitano dey trade and this reversal issue na big problem for p2p business e get people wey go won do magomago to see weda you go fall mugu. Apart from reversal case, I don encounter some traders way go click paid immediately you open trade with them, dey waste your time thinking say them send you money, no way to contact them expect the binance chat box the painful part be say you as the seller nor go fit cancel the transaction your coins go just dey on hold till the matter resolve.

Nobody go like make im money they for bank they devaluate na, so na to find option, and Bitcoin na better one, so if people they run comot their money for banks they invest am so their money go they appreciate, you no go fit blame them. But even if as the thing they happen, and e they affect naira, them no go fit talk say na im be the root cause of naira devaluation, the root cause na bad government policies over the years, as government no plan well find better means avert or lessen this serious inflation, naira go fall na, and people go look for alternatives, and that is what is happening.

I never get thus kind experience o, I think this experience go dey too much disastrous. I think e rare for this kind thing to happen, if e happen na the bank we go blame. Like if I trade finish with the money enter my account, dem debit me and I use app check and see the money inside app and later on them go reverse the money. Unless the sender get some dirty deals with the receiver's bank and how possible is it?

Learning multiple languages is very important, it gives you an advantage during Visa application, you do not have to master and be fluent, just learn the basics, learn one language from Asia, and maybe two from Europe, Indonesia and Japanese are not difficult to learn if you really want to learn but both are very important, then you mix am with French and Russia, with all of this you can travel and feel safe.

Anyone can use it even if their bank is not listed; with the first option "Bank transfer," you can enter any bank of your choice that is not listed. Most microfinance banks are affiliated with some of the banks listed; for example, Kuda bank is affiliated with Zenith bank and operates under the same license. Wisdom wan finish me

Most times microfinance banks are listed under none commercial banks and with that there are some limitations to their operation but when they affiliate with other financial institutions such as between kuda and zenith bank the microfinance bank will operate on a capital flight using the commercial bank licence.

No Nigerian bank is involved, it is just still normal p2p trading and not beyond p2p traders, but just that listing banks among the payment methods can make P2P traders to easily know which bank the buyer or seller want to send from or receive to. Aside that, I see no other reason. I believe people will not be concerned about going for specific banks, what people will go for are ads that display best p2p rates, the ones with the best offers.
