Received my Batch 4 S2's is perfect order, new case design fix the shaking loose issue and directing PSU's fan out of the case helps.

Shipping was beyond fast, Bitmain even predicted that I meant to buy 2 X S2 and shipped me the 2nd one to fix my mistake  

I am ready for the 20% jump...  I hope

Yeah isn't it something how fast the wheels of commerce turn these days. And, in the midst of all the day to day to and fro in the bitcoin mining world, it is so easy to lose site of the fact that

* we can buy machines that execute 2 thousand thousand thousand thousand  SHA-256 hashes a second for much less than the cost of a 1 week vacation somewhere and have them delivered to our doorstep in working condition from half way around the world in just several days.

* we have a bitcoin network that is working as designed and set to fullfill its promise

* there is still a little decency on bitcointalk

If you suspend your day to day way of looking at things for a moment, its all a bit of a marvel.

Can anyone recommend replacement quieter fans for the S2?  Any experience replacing them?  Is it easy?  Thanks in advance for any advice.

What's the function of the tiny fan on the front just below the LCD?

probably to coolthe PSU cables if anything - its not really pointed anywhere critical but at the PSU. (it might also balance the airflow that the psu exhausts)

Price changes daily? Three days without any change now. Difficulty is still rising.

If manufacturers will adjust prices effectively upwards (by not reducing it steadily) and basically basing the price on ZERO profits for miners after 4 months of 100% uptime, then I am out of the mining game. I am pretty sure that they have at least 50% margin on S2 (cost of goods=$1000 or even $500, perhaps). I can buy BTC directly if manufacturers are not willing to share the profit.

your math for s-2's is wrong….  this is based in usd not btc.   so if you buy it today is cost less btc today then it did two days ago.

your math for   s-1's is correct since they base the price in btc not usd.

I buy mining equipment always with BTC, then replenish BTC with $$ immediately, so it doesn't matter for me how they price.
I concede the point that today S2 costs less BTC than a couple of days ago, but they state PRICE CHANGES DAILY with no change for three days.
Profitability was affected only marginally.

Edit: no change for more than two days, will be three days by tomorrow morning.

Sorry, didn't feel it necessary to state the obvious. It is still the 22nd which means they missed one day of price changes, not 3. Although, I did quote the previous change where they missed two days of price changes in a row. We all want them to lower prices with greater frequency and differential. I just don't see where misstating facts is going to increase their chances of doing that.

Just got my S2B4 in perfect shape. They have upgraded the slide rails to metal and also install metal braces on top to secure the boards. Although I removed the top braces now that its sitting.

Good news, they have also upgraded to Kingston 4GB microSD card from the old crappy ones. I didn't check what class it is, next time I reboot I will post.

It has been ~52hr 56 min or two full days plus almost 5hr since the last update as of right now. surely, it is much more than daily.
In any case, they don't really follow this rule, so it is largely irrelevant.
In addition, i don't care anymore-pulled a trigger on s2 for $1650 today, paid in BTC, hoping for a good product.
