Real showed yesterday how easy it is to play through Phillips and Kabak (and Arnold as well). It is clear to see how horrible Kabak and Phillips are even in games against weaker opposition, it's just that a team like Fulham (or even Arsenal) does not have a player that can hurt them from 60 yards. Real has Kroos, has enough quality in offense to draw them out of positions and to pass perfectly behind.

With Kabak and Phillips Liverpool can't even press properly so they were at the mercy of Real's quality. Real played a really good game, narrowed the pitch and played a better pressing game than Liverpool.

We are lucky we scored so the tie isn't completely over. Real is a huge favorite though, especially if the 2 all pain no brain stooges will be playing again.

Keita was terrible but he wasn’t the only one. I can’t believe the 1st half performance, totally embarrassing. I can accept being outplayed but we didn’t show any fight, determination, spirit, nothing in the 1st half. It’s a CL 1/4 final & we were playing like we didn’t care.

2nd half was better but still not good enough. If we score the first goal in the 2nd leg we have a chance but I don’t think we’ll do it. Shame but I expected to win nothing this season as soon as we lost VVD & Gomez.

Its funny how your saying that and at the same time expressing your dismay and lack of faith in the Liverpool team. There is no way this team is surviving this phase of the UCL, there barely survived Real Madrid last night and they are yet to face other teams like defending champions Bayern Munich, Paris Saint German and Manchester City.

Well, the both fixtures yesterday came through for bettors. Those who played the goal options and regular wins. It wasn't so disappointing after all. I expected Liverpool to loose and also Manchester City to win and they did. I see Real Madrid to have what it takes to be in the finals this season.

I don't think the issue for Liverpool is the players. Obviously van Dijk is a big absence, but still, he's not the whole team.
Liverpool's big problem is confidence. They got into a bad place this season, and the confidence nose-dived. It doesn't matter who you pick for the team, when morale is that low.
The main thing that is beating Liverpool at the moment is their own collective mental state.

I think it is a mix of both i mean it's not only Van Dijk that is missing in the defense but also Joel Matip and Joe Gomez and to have 3 central Backs missing at the same time is quite a heavy blow, of course the absence of Van Dijk has the biggest impact as he probably is the worlds best central back at the moment.

How important confidence is was shown very clearly last year when bayern munich replaced Nico Kovac with Hansi Flick. All that the team needed at that moment was confidence and a new approach and Flick managed to win 6 Titles with basically the same team that was performing so badly at the end of Kovac's time.

About the match Porto vs Chelsea I have no doubt that Chelsea will win... Porto do not play several key players - Sergio Oliveira and Mehdi Taremi...
And the level of play between these clubs is completely different...

But about the victory of Bayern, I began to doubt...

@Harko @cryptofrka @LFC yeah, even at half time I was already just wondering what on earth we were going to do in the 2nd half. The Salah goal luckily was also some poor defence but we simply weren't sharp enough. I've not seen Gini play so badly in such a long time, Keita was disappointing, and they kept getting the ball stuck at their feet, control was so poor especially from vets like Thiago, honestly.

Kabak and Phillips won't want to look back, but Trent also reminds people why he's not a good defender. Of course I still back them, but they got a good old hiding from wily Real. It just wasn't our night. Not the grudge match I was hoping for but Anfield beckons, maybe?

^  It wasn’t luck.  It’s not like they didn’t try to win the match or they didn’t have enough fire power over BVB.  Anyway, the thing I got out from the match was I didn’t really know that Haaland looks so damn tall on the pitch.  It seemed like he was taller than the defenders.

I agree that it can be said that Manchester City's victory was lucky, because Phil Foden was only able to score the winning goal in the last minute.
I thought it was going to be a draw, but like you said Dortmund's defeat wasn't bad. Because there are still opportunities for Dortmund to qualify
for the semi-finals. Dortmund only needs to win the match with a score of 1-0, but the problem is Manchester City will definitely not let Dortmund

Yesterday game between manchester city and Borussia Dortmund was as interesting as anticipated, breathtaking game filled with every features a game of that magnitude should posses. We saw some nice passes from the ever reliable kevin De bruyne not forgetting this action in match when Haaland muscles Ruben Dias before forcing a save from Ederson, Haaland got all the attributes required of a modern attacker Dias is one of the strongest defender in the premier league but he couldn't contain the enigmatic Haaland. I feel Ederson was lucky to go away from that incidence that saw him loose the ball to Jude Bellingham ,that was a 50-50 situation and luckily the decision went his way. The game ending at 2-1 implies there's still all to play for in the second leg at signal Iduna park so we can even expect a more interesting and fascinating game of football.

Me too! Both Real and Man City did what I expected. Win their matches and both to conceded a goal.
I only miss Dortmund's scorer but still, I'm on the winning side.

IMO today's matches are more difficult to predict but I will go for both teams to score in both games and maybe for Porto's win...

Of course, the absence of the defender, Van Dijk greatly affected the background lines, which helped Zidane to take advantage of the situation by recruiting players appropriately, and despite the absence of Ramos and Baran, he managed to achieve victory. This does not mean that Liverpool is out of the game. Rather, Klopp can reunite the ranks and fight there in the second leg. The competition is still going on for Liverpool!!!

Of course, Chile has a great chance to beat FC Porto, but the match between Paris and Bayern is difficult to predict who will win. Let's continue watching the match. I think it will be a difficult game for both clubs and exciting at the same time. Perhaps the result of a draw is worth the bet.

They can't always win, but I don't see that City is "so much better" now than in previous games to finally beat Borussia.
Borussia is also very well placed in Group E with just one defeat compared to City.
I'll not play against the odds, I am still deciding... but I'l bet at most on a City draw.

I also wouldn't say they will continue to win, but their consistency at UCL this season is to be reckoned with. I hope you haven't made a mistake tonight in making choice. I think you have big hope if a draw is an option.

I was convinced believing in a draw...
Borussia started playing very well, but after the first goal City dominated the first half.
With a more balanced second half between the teams, I doubled my bet in a draw, and then I hastily celebrated my "beautiful bet" when I saw Reus' goal in the 39th minute.
Well, I don't need to say anything else.

Bayern Munich 1.90 and PSG 3.60 at the time of writing, it is not only Lewandowski who is injured and at least there are other players who are similar at this opportunity not to play.
