You are right. Their main goal is the Champions League. Because they were far behind from the start of the Premier League. At the moment, they have no choice but to focus on the Champions League. They can go to the semi-finals of the Champions League, but they are not that much good a team to go to the final. They are very weak compared to other teams.

I couldn't agree with you more. They have been absolutely terrible in the EPL so far. They have no choice other than to focus more on the Champions League. Because they will most probably not be able to finish at a place that will help them join the CL again. They will try their best to win the CL title.

The final can't be Chelsea vs Liverpool because in the semi finals we will see a draw between Porto/Chelsea and Real Madrid/Liverpool if I'm not mistaken. But I think they both will eliminate their opponent and get a draw against each other.

I also think Liverpool is difficult to win the title of Champions League. Liverpool is in a bad situation, with many crucial players injured, they are lucky enough can be in the current stage. Then, they will against Real Madrid, the most team winning in the Champions League. I am not sure if Liverpool can win this time, they will play without 3 best defenders (Van Dijk, Matip, Gomez) and 1 best striker (Firminho). These will be the weaknesses and the chance for their opponent to beat them.

I won't be so sure because Liverpool clearly has a single purpose remained for this season and that is to win UCL but trust me they will do anything they can to reach the finals and then whatever happens is another story but I do think Liverpool will give 200% for their UCL games. They are facing Real Madrid who is currently not in a great shape and we all know that a team who plays a football style like Liverpool ( Bayern, Dortmund , City ) will create scoring chances and most probably they will score.

It looks like they are not doing that this year. They had like 20+ win in a row streak this year and that shows how serious they are taking this year. They know that this year is the year they could win both champions league and the premier league together, well premier league is as guaranteed as it can get without being mathematically guaranteed, so I think they are going to get that.

But the champions league still has decent teams, PSG trying to reclaim last year's finals spot and win it this year, Bayern is still good and beating everyone, it is not going to be easy but I think they can do it. City is as good as any team in the league right now, they could beat anyone, but the weird thing is they could end up playing not so well and end up losing as well. Which is why I think it's quite important that they play every game like they have to absolutely dominate.

Well, cup competitions can be a throw of the dice sometimes. Also, I don't think your league performance has much translation to your champions league campaign. Dortmund aren't doing well in the Bundesliga, Chelsea isn't playing sensational football in the premier league either and PSG isn't top of the Ligue 1 either. Liverpool won the champions league in 2005 and finished 5th in the league. Chelsea won it in 2012 and finished 6th. Not to mention that several of the Liverpool players are returning from injuries.

I agree that Chelsea have developed very rapidly since Tuchel came to replace Lampard. So from that it looks like Porto's luck will stop
in the quarter finals, I'm also not sure Porto can make Chelsea fall in the Champions League. Chelsea have quality players who in my opinion
are better than Porto, it should not be too difficult to beat Porto. But Porto managed to beat Juventus, therefore, it cannot underestimate Porto.
But I believe Tuchel must have learned from Juventus defeat to Porto. So Tuchel will be careful when Chelsea face Porto.

I would even say that this season is a failure for Chelsea. I wish they could do better. I think they will be able to go on, but not without problems. Although you know that Porto wins the Champions League once in 17 years. It was in 1987 and in 2004. Now it's been 17 years since the last victory. So maybe they can win. But in those years Porto was a much stronger team than now.

Being a Liverpool fan myself, I wouldn't say it's a wise option to place a bet on Liverpool to win either. The last couple of weeks have been kinda tough despite our back to back wins in the round of 16 against an unfortunate Leipzig team. But on the plus side, Real Madrid isn't the kind of team you'd pick as team of the year because their results too have not been so good. I want to believe in my team but I won't want to be sentimental with my bias. To be honest, any of the two teams have a shot at winning the tie. No underdogs, just two top teams trying to get back to winning ways.

Porto is not the strongest team to win the Champions League title. Strong teams like Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG are here. Who are now in extraordinary form. Although the match will be very competitive as I think both teams are almost equally strong.
