And we have left the first half behind. Chelsea have got ahead 1-0 with a wonderful counter-attack goal that Ziyech scored and Werner made the assist. Now, Chelsea have a much stronger advantage and Atletico's job is very hard from now on. They have nothing to lose and they should make a much more effort and take bigger risks to have a chance maybe against Chelsea.

Atlético madrid shouldn't have allowed Chelsea take the lead if they were really serious about winning the match. You don't win a game in which you're at a goal deficit by conceding another goal. They had just 1 job - try deciphering the key to Chelsea's defense while trying as much as possible not to concede even more goals. Better luck next time to them. It's also beginning to look like Tuchel is planning to win Chelsea their second UCL title. Won't be an easy one but let's see.

As expected, Bayern and Chelsea lead 1-0 at half-time. I think we won't see any more surprises, even if Atletico could advance with 2 goals. But they have not convinced me so far in the first half. Too ponderous, without many ideas against a Chelsea team that stands very compact and waits for counterattacks. A typical Tuchel tactic.

It's really disappointing to watch them defending so well when they should have been the once attacking but then  I couldn't have imagined them do otherwise. It would have been more risky should they have come out to play against this Chelsea team. The team were more ready than ever and you can see how they capitalised on Atletico Madrid's mistake to earn themselves a goal which is looking like the only goal in the match and a winning goal for Chelsea at that. There is little time to the final whistle and a draw will do them no good but, they just have to give these final minutes all they've got should they think of any chance.

What a boring matchday in Champions league. Atletico is probably biggest disappointment in tournament this year. They really didn't had chance against Chelsea. And it's strange for me, because Chelsea is far from being called Champions league contender. So, 3 Spanish teams already eliminated, only Real is still here.
Interesting fact - Luis Suarez haven't scored in Champions league away game since 2015. Almost 6 years without away goal, fucking unbeleavable.
Not worth to talk much about Bayern, there were no questions remaining after first game.
And in general, playoffs so far is very boring for me. Everything is so predictable. Only Porto win against Juve was something unexpected.

I'm happy that Madrid won and reached the quarter-finals. The existence of doubts about the consistency of their players in my opinion makes most people not choose him to advance to the UCL quarter-finals this season. In the second leg I'm happy that Benzema and Ramos are playing, because they have a big influence. Even though I was happy with Modric that night he did well, he was like a young player. Everything is so predictable. Only Porto win against Juve was something unexpected.

Lol, its very true, only Porto's win came as a surprise with all the squad that Juventus have got and were in form too and yet, they still lost to Porto. The rest of the games have just being the top teams winning over the not so tough teams both home and away with clear difference.

Chelsea isn't such a tough team compared with Atletico Madrid but were surely a tough one because, they carefully played and out played Atletico Madrid. It wasn't a very entertaining match but then, they ensured that they dominated the game such that  Atletico Madrid had no chance to create a meaningful attack out of there game play.
The worst came i  them conceiving there last goal and S. Savic taking a red.  Chelsea virtually frustrated there game plan.

That was a remarkable performance from the blues I'm not surprised a bit I knew it was going to be a very difficult game for ATM to crack, Chelsea dominated the game physically, tactically in every aspect. Chelate is back to the champions league quarter-final after long-awaited 6 years. Tuchel has done a marvellous job, it looks like magic how Chelsea turn from being a laughing stock to a champions league quarterfinalist.

Chelsea ended up making 2 wins against one of the best Spanish clubs and that was a joy for me personally. The next round is waiting, and other great teams are also very ready to beat Chelsea. I am sure that tuchel will give his best strategy to make Chelsea shine even more at UCL this season.

I'm betting on PSG.

Of all the teams that qualified for the Champions League quarter final, I agree that the three teams, namely PSG, Manchester City and Bayern
most likely will win the Champions League trophy this season. But I don't agree that PSG will win the trophy, I bet on Bayern who will win
the Champions League trophy again this season. What is interesting for me is Porto's qualification for the quarter-finals after getting rid of Juventus.
I am so curious about how far Porto can go, if it can get into the semi-finals it really surprises all parties.

La Liga now is witnessing the same fall as Serie A are facing in the past decade. After the golden period from Barcelona and Real Madrid, they are falling and Real Madrid is the only representative of La Liga in Champions League for the Quarter final round.

Bundesliga and Premier League look are maitaining their positions among top leagues. 2 representatives for Bundesliga and 3 for Premier League.

Me too. I am betting on PSG as they gradually mature and show how strong they can fight for the title. They are now more confidendent than 3 seasons ago. The amazing adventure in the last season and the failure in final match give them more confidence and stimulate ambition in their players.

We know it's a different competition and teams play differently on CL but odds will be based on the current team's form and injuries. Chelsea is playing well in the Premier League unlike Real Madrid who looks to be declining.

I also prefer any of the two EPL clubs to met in semi-final honestly the trio of Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool had performed well in this year UCL even Liverpool despite their poor EPL outings,
Pairing any one of the teams against PSG, Real or Bayern Munich will be very tough for any of them to scale through or qualify, Man City was eliminated in the quarter final by Lyon last season possibly this next stage might be their final bus stop considering the quality and good form of their next opponents

Yeah, boring, same teams as all expected except maybe Chelsea who I feel are still weaker than Atletico but somehow found a way to get the goals. I don't think there was really any real upsets in who qualified this time (except for poor Juventus). Now I feel like I should just back Porto all the way, who knows, at least until the final?
