Barcelona and Real Madrid are too many problems, a lot of old players, and young players have no experience yet. Juventus relies on experience and therefore loses constantly. Now we need more physically strong players, and there are very few of them in Juventus. Bayern and Liverpool are likely to play in the final and are more realistic candidates for the final this season.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are in post win cycle.. need to destroy and rebuild from scratch. Juventus is a step over, they destroyed and in this moment they rebuild. Ronaldo is only a marketing operation, CR7 is a big brand. Now with Pirlo they planning the future.

The level is so high that any single bad game in the knockout stages & a team can effectively be out. I think Bayern are favourites but tyere are probably another 7 or 8 teams who are capable of winning it.

I wonder whether Liverpool will be able to be champions 2 times in a row. There are really tough opponents. Especially Bayern Munich are playing wonderful. I hope we can see the final match to be between Bayern Munich and Liverpool. It would definitely be enjoyable to watch.

I think that in this season we could see some new teams or underdogs in the quarter- or semifinals and maybe even in the final. Some of the teams that usually reached this late stages of the tournament in the last years are not performing well at the moment. Just look at Barca and Madrid, but also Liverpool, Paris and Man City. On the other hand are we still a few months away from those stages, so a lot of things can change till then.

I think Liverpool and Bayern are good names to go for finals this year, they are really going for that one last chance but they need to make it happen or they are going to be like today's Real Madrid next season or year after that. We are already hearing about Liverpool players wanting a bigger check, which is definitely deserved and they should get it but Liverpool can't handle paying them all at once all together huge superstar amounts, even though players deserve it, one team can't afford that many star salaries.
Bayern is also having trouble with players, boateng and alaba and some others are considered to be let go for nothing, which is shocking and I think it could be false news as well, but it looks like both teams have to deal with this year very carefully.

I don't think they can pull it off without Mohamed Salah, he has Covid and is quarantined in Egypt so he can't travel anywhere for matches. He'll probably be back this Thursday according to the news but Liverpool is lucky that it happened during the international break and not before critical UEFA matches.

The question will be whether Covid will affect the medium and long-term performance possibility. Since Ronaldo fell victim to Covid, he has not performed as well as before. There are many Covid patients who still complain of breathing problems and neurological problems even after months. Why should it be any different with professional players. For some professionals who were infected with Covid, it could even mean the end of their careers. In my opinion, this is given far too little attention in discussions.

It's already sure they won't win the Champions League 2 times in a row ... cause Bayern won it last season, not Liverpool But seriously, with all the bad luck Liverpool has with their injuries this season, I don't really see them as a top-favourite for the title. Both Bayern, ManCity are in a better shape right now imho. They are not as stable defensivly as last season (or the season before) amd with VVD and Gomez they are missing their main CBs. Don't think they will make huge signings in the winter transfer window though.

You have a point, according to this August study, 55% of all recovered Covid patients have symptoms of fatigue and dizziness and it has must have hit it's fair share of professional players as normal people. It could force a few older players into retirement and the transfer value of younger players will go down as they perform worse in future games. It's a net loss to all clubs, as clubs which don't win games much have their market value lowered. Next question is how long these effects last, whether for a few months or several.

The season is very long, other clubs will also have problems with injured players and the team that is most prepared for spring will win, when the decisive matches will be played. In my opinion, the main favorites remain Liverpool, Manchester City, Bayern, Real, Barcelona and Juve although I give a slight advantage to Bayern and Manchester City.

Exactly, of course, it could be that for professional players who are much fitter and more toned than average person, the percentage could be a little lower, but even if it were 30% it would mean that one in three infected professional players could have permanent limitations and at such high levels that would mean the end of the career. I think the true extent of Corona in professional sports will really show in the next 1-2 years.

Wat? Premier League champions 2x in a row maybe, but impossible for back to back CL wins seeing as Bayern won it last year and my money is on them again. Liverpool have a lot of injuries right now. I wouldn't pay that much attention to these 'studies'. Fatigue is normal after things like a cold of the flu but I'm sure 'Covid fatigue' will become the new I'm too ill to work excuse so people can enjoy early retirement and a lifetime of benefits. I'm sure professional athletes being paid millions will be seldom effected . In the cases of people like Ronaldo and Salah they're asymptomatic and have only tested positive for the virus whilst having no problems or symptoms whatsoever. This will be the case for most people I think, or those tests they're giving people are issuing false positives which is what Ronaldo claimed I believe.

And it is not known in what form the players of the teams will approach the final part of the season. Much will depend on this.

The game I am most excited to see is Inter vs Real in Group B. Real can’t afford to lose this game, I can not imagine the CL last 16 without Real participating. I expect this game to be very intense.

yeah.. i understand the bad moment every team has very bad moments, if you remember Juventus also went to Serie B (with Alessandro Del Piero who remained as a professional) you have to start rebuilding everything from scratch, without panic and caressing and coaxing the fans, who bring money

I have seen a lot of basketball players who "had" covid and restart during bubble period and they were amazing without any problems at all. Also there were few football players who had covid and returned this season and they played well as well.
This year the only problem teams have is missing their players during covid period if they get infected and maybe at most after a month those players will be back and playing like nothing happened. Obviously this is for asymptomatic players and infected people, if they are infected and they had high fever and bad effects, that could take a bit longer to recover from. However when you are careful about your life like wear a mask and put a social distance between you and others, you should not get it too severely.
