On the other hand, both Nepal and USA have lost their first match and therefore need a win today to keep their chances alive. 

I was very surprised to see the impressive batting of Zimbabwe against the Netherlands. A huge target of 316 was set by the Netherlands team. It was a big enough target in 50 overs. But Zimbabwe's batting looks like it was an easy target. Zimbabwe collected 319 runs in 40.5 overs. Sikandar Raja and Williams batted brilliantly. Sean Williams scored 91 off 58 balls and Sikandar Raja remained unbeaten on 102 off 54 balls. Raja hit 8 over boundaries in this match. Zimbabwe's batting looks like they would have won the match even if the target was more than 400.

The third match of the World Cup Qualifier Sri Lanka vs UAE starts today. United Arab Emirates is a weak side as Sri Lanka's opponent. I think Sri Lanka will win today's match. Because Sri Lanka's bowling line batting line is better than UAE. Who do you think will win today's match?

As I was expecting Sri Lanka team was looking strong. They gave a handsome target to United Arab Emirates team. Sri Lanka made 355 runs and gave 6 wickets. And United Arab Emirates team made only 180 runs with in 39 overs and got all out. By the way Sri Lanka made 355 runs this really a good target and I was sure that the UAE team will unable to chase this target. Excellent performance by Sri Lankan team.

I don't think it will be a tough task for Sri Lanka to qualify for the World Cup. I have seen the performance of the players in their last few series. There are several talented players in the squad. However, the players are not able to consistently perform well. However, the Sri Lankan players performed brilliantly against Afghanistan. A win against the likes of Oman, Ireland, and UAE is expected to be easy for an experienced team like Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan players will show dominance against Oman in the next match.

UAE did not perform very well in this regard as the bowling of Sri Lanka team performed very well. Although the UAE are a little less strong than Sri Lanka, this huge win is a credit to Sri Lanka in the current season. Although the UAE performed well in the powerplay, they could not score good runs on any wicket later on. If these two batsmen Basil Hammed and Mustafa could have collected a little better runs, the team would have lost but there would not have been a huge run gap. I would say UAE needs a bit more experience because to perform against a strong team definitely requires experience and experienced bowling.

No one expected UAE to play well against a team like Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan team is very experienced. And it's unfortunate for them that despite having such a strong squad, they're playing in a World Cup qualifier. I expected to see Sri Lanka's dominance in this match. The dominance of the Sri Lankan players was visible both in batting and bowling. They played very well in this match and managed to get an easy win. Sri Lanka won the first match by a huge margin of 175 runs.

Netherlands played good, scoring 300+ runs is really good from any team. Zimbabwe have chased it in a very easy way. Sikandar Raza have played well and scored century as if playing in an T20 match. From the opener Gumbie and Ervine, everyone scored good and this ease the winning of Zimbabwe. Raza contributed in batting as well as in bowling with his four wickets in 10 overs bowled.

In the other match USA played against Nepal. Good scoring from USA, but Nepal with its strong batting line-up reached the target of 207 runs losing 4 wickets. Century have come for USA player Shayan Jahangir, and every qualifier match is revealing some potential players to the world.

Netherlands is fielding their second string team as most of their regular players are involved in county cricket. And as far as bowling is concerned, it is not even second string, but like third string. Logan van Beek was the only experienced bowler in the XI for yesterday's match. Half of the overs were bowled by inexperienced noobs like Aryan Dutt, Vikramjit Singh, Shariz Ahmad and Saqib Zulfiqar. If someone like Fred Klaassen or Paul van Meekeren was present in the XI, then they would have easily defended their total. But yesterday many of their younger bowlers conceded more than 10 runs per over, as they got butchered by Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams.

Ireland along with Nepal have been the biggest disappointments so far. Ireland lost their first match against Oman, and in the second match they are 1/2 after 0.4 overs with two of their best batsmen (Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie) back to pavilion. 23-year old Brandon McMullen picked up both the wickets.
