Ilkay Gundogan is the perfect signing for Barcelona. He is a player who has good experience as a midfield general, which is exactly what Barcelona needed after Busquets moved to Inter Miami. It may be true that Ilkay Gundogan is no substitute for Busquets, but he has good midfield control.

I'm sure they will do as much as they can, at least they have to qualify from the group stage like you said. on the other hand, in the 2023/2024 season. supposedly, Barcelona's young players have developed much more with long minutes of playing time, they only need to develop their talents and mentality to be more solid. plus, the combination of youth and senior players will make their game more competitive.

To be honest, as I often say in several posts, the current Barcelona squad cannot be said to be solid. in fact, I'd say that Barcelona needs some newcomers who have the potential to add depth to the team. even then, if Barcelona wants to compete strictly in the Champions League competition. however, it's difficult if we remember that there are many tougher competitors in the Champions League competition. ideally, they have to give their best game in all competitions and still defend the League trophy.
