I guess Real Madrid have made multiple positive moves to bring in the best players to the club and targeting mbappe is one of those moves that is succeeded and could change the current state of the club in the next season,  but also we have to take into accounts the possibility of the player being retained in his present club since his contract has not expired and unless he is going on a loan which is an option know real Madrid will not accept.

You are basically right about this that Mbappe becomes cheaper as a free agent under normal circumstances, but nothing is normal when it is about Mbappe. He now wants the money that he would have earned from playing for PSG next season to be put on top of whatever he receives for a transfer from PSG to another club this season. Either the sheikhs are willing to pay him some form of compensation or the new club has to put the money on top. In poker you call that Mbappe move "ALL-IN". he isn't making a step back, he wants it all and I hope that even he has to realize at some point that enough is enough but my expectation is that he will get whatever he wants.

If he's going to leave this summer, they can get money to get a replacement this summer.

I like your point of view but there is one minor difference in my opinion. Mbabbe realizes that he is losing valuable time and even though he is already the best paid soccer player in the Western world, he is now uncertain how to go about this deal and how to make the most money out of it. If money drives him the most, he should probably stay at PSG for an additional season. But if his achievements in soccer drive him even more, he should leave that club rather today than tomorrow. Considering the fact that he is young and he has the chance to grow, that means they got a player that is already at near starting eleven level, maybe already there by the time season starts, and could play maybe as much as 10 years, ok maybe ten is too much, he is 27, and there are very few players who play until 37, some do but very rare, but he can play at least 5 more years without a doubt.

He already provided how good he can be at premier league, and had a lot of great moments as well, I am guessing that he will definitely be good enough for ATM as well for that reason.
