as an African and as someone who has been following African soccer I can say that African soccer has no quality anymore, when I watch the games I get very angry with the poor quality of these games, players make mistakes that are very childish, there are few goals. this deficient system is linked to the corruption that exists in clubs in africa.

If i didnt see that some of the big players are leaving the premier league and some big leagues to play this tournament i wouldnt even know that this tournament is being played. This tournament lacks a lot of quality and to me isnt intresting at all

What qualities do you think they lack?
The Africa Cup of Nations has being going down good over the years,I see nothing wrong with the African Cup of Nations.
Big names have got to represent their nation, this is a mandatory act.

The poor performance you speak about is as a result of poor quality from the home grown players. This tournament combines the international players with local and that's a bad mixed as the international players tends to adapt to the style of the home grown players which then affect their play. Let not also forget this big player are coming form league with world class facilities and treatment. They definitely can't get such treatment over here and this is because of the poor investment from the football governing body of the continent.

Well that's your personal view as the AFCON isn't a small tournament, this is the biggest tournament in Africa and the football lovers all know about the tournament. It has been ongoing before the big players you speak about today leaving their respective clubs to come play. Infact this tournament is the birth of many African stars you hear of today as they get discovered from their participation.

Well that's your personal view as the AFCON isn't a small tournament, this is the biggest tournament in Africa and the football lovers all know about the tournament. Its not a small tournament but i would rather watch Premier league now then AFCON honestly.I think the knockout faze will be intresting,group stage for me currently isnt at all.Some really weak teams are on this tournament in the group stage.

I wonder how he argued his reluctance. If he had good reasons, then I don't see why he should be subject to sanctions. But such events undoubtedly destroy the prestige of the competition, so it was not worth bringing these problems out to the public.
By the way, which group is considered the most interesting? I see that more or less interesting confrontations will take place in groups A and D.

in Africa, due to great corruption, the games dropped to a level. in the past when we had julius aghahowa, samuel eto, akoni kanu and we had a team that could compete with the europeans we were at a medium level, but today we are at a low level in terms of game quality, players have to pay or to be in the main team having agreements with the guys from the federations and very often the internal players who have quality don't play because they don't have the money to match the guy from the federation

I saw this coming as their was rumors of his agents threatening to fine him if he leaves Italy for the AFCON and all of a sudden he's pleading to be left out and now announced to have COVID-19. Also Dennis from Watford has also opted out of the AFCON. This guys don't get it what it means to play for your country. They should learn from how top players like Salad and Mane are happy playing for their team. The club football is great but nothiygive the feelings of winning a trophy for your national team.

It should be Group D as there's Nigeria and Egypt trying to top the group but all of a sudden the news coming from the Nigerian camp isn't encouraging and lets not forget they sacked their coach recently plus they'll be missing key players and this might affect their play.

It this for a particular country or all of the countries in Africa,off which I know is not true.
The best players in Europe are currently Africans so we have to accept that,you should have a change of mind about how you feel about Africa...They a good look at Salah,Mane, Haller of Ajax, Wilfried Ndidi of Leicester City, see the quality they bring to their respective clubs..!?!

I am not African, but I find African footballers very successful.  Individually, countries such as Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Cameroon had football players who had a lot of influence on world football.  For example, Didier Drogba, Taribo West, Amokachi, Okocha (These two are Nigerian football players who are very popular in Turkey.) Samuel Eto’o These were players who were in very good places in world football.  That's why many teams send scout to the African Cup.  The African Cup is perfect for discovering new talents.  Although they have slightly lesser roles today, remember that Mo Salah is an African, Mbappe African Descent.  Look at the French national team, they are all of African descent.  That's why Africa is a very important continent for football.

Apparently, therefore, at the moment bookmakers are evaluating Nigeria as an underdog in the fight against Egypt:

It is good (for Nigeria) that 2 teams qualify from the group (by the way, a few more best teams that took third place will also get into the playoffs) and the remaining 2 teams do not pose a serious danger.

May the best team win. Also I am super glad that  COVID-19 did not stop this tournament. I hope that many fresh players will be discovered during the game. My sincere desire is that everyone adhere to the COVID 19 protocols as well as security guidelines. In a couple of days the games will kick off with Cameroon Playing against Burkina Faso. I'm super excited because I will get to see some of my favorite EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 players in the field doing their magic

So much great talent in the ivorian team, from the backline to the midfielder's and attackers.
They are defending Champions doesn't mean they'll win the same way they did some years back.
With the introduction of Samuel Eto as president, I strongly believes they'll be push to win this for him,they are also a good side.

Where are you going to watch the matches of this tournament? In my country, this tournament, to put it mildly, does not arouse any interest and is not in the TV program grid, so I will most likely follow the events (and this will only happen if I decide to place bets here) through text broadcasts.

Yes it is. The result of the group matches is clear even before the start of the championship. But this problem is common for most tournaments - even in the Champions League where it is very rare to get competitive groups and very rarely when the underdogs make it to the playoffs.
Just watched the odds on this tournament - bookmakers do not even accept bets on teams getting out of the group into the playoffs lol.
