Nigeria against Tunisia no one  thought that  Nigeria will loose that game ,normally Nigeria has good players than Tunisia,  so everyone were expecting something different.  Not knowing that the Tunisia guys have already studied the strategy of the Tunisia players, and they succeeded in trading Nigeria.

Tunisia also had a not bad squad quality.  However, they could not go any further.  There will be two teams that will be remembered in this tournament.  The first is Senegal, which is the champion.  second place is Burkina Faso, which finished in fourth place (they were almost third).  I congratulate both the champion Senegal and Burkina Faso.  It was a good tournament.

Even if you look further, this is indeed their highest achievement at this time.
Senegal are champions and interestingly this is the first time they have won this tournament.
On the other hand, Burkina Faso will also be one that will continue to be discussed because of how those who are not superior can even make Cameroon dizzy by being 3-0 down in the race for 3rd place.
even though they can come back in Cameroon, but still being in position 4 is a good achievement for a team that is considered one eye.

AFCON has ended. The joy that I used to start AFCON was not the joy I use to end it. When Tunisia people eliminated Nigeria, I feel betrayed and very very disappointed and I lost interest in the match. But I was still watching some important matches. But in overall African football has improved very very well. Many good players have come out of Africa. I congratulate Mane and Salah for staying in the cup till finals because they were the face of the tournament.

The battle might have been won by Senegal but the war just began as Egypt and senagal (Mo Salah and Mane) will be facing each other again for who gets the slots at Qatar for the 2022 world cup. Only 5 team will be representing Africa and from the nations above, who are the teams you think will be a good pick for the world cup?

The African Nations cup final sets this world cup qualifying playoffs between Senegal and Egypt pretty well, I'm sure the victory by Senegal must have created a sort of rivalry between the two teams, and that can only mean we're up for a very competitive world cup qualifying game between Senegal and Egypt, yet again, Mane and Salah come up against each other in very important circumstances, Mane won the first battle, let's see who's going to win the next. Senegal, Nigeria, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia are my picks to make it to the world cup in Qatar this year.

Having said that, to be honest, I think African teams are really going to do well in this world cup, I'm giving them equal chance for the title just as their European competitors as well as other top teams from other continents, this could prolly be the year for Africa, I really hope so.

This game will be held on the 14th of February, I'm sure with the much trolling from Nigerians to Ghanians after they got knocked out of the African Cup of Nations they will sure be back to hurt African giant's.
But then my prediction for this game will be for Nigeria to win, they have a good squad from their last game against Tunisia, the Coach just have to impact what he has got.

Yea, this would make a lot of sense from the "fairness" point of view. However, this would mess up a lot of schedules and plans. In the end all continental cup winners want to have the same treatment. While this could reduce the number of games to be played, I wonder whether the winner teams would actually be happy about that, as it would mean that they skip the qualification and maybe do not have a competitve game (outside of friendly matches) for 1-2 years

The Group B and Group D are going to start in two weeks in the World Cup qualifiers. And what a coincidence that Senegal and Egypt are in the same group.    They are in the Group D and the first three teams promote to the World Cup in the group stage by the way. These teams faced each other in the AFCON final and Senegal eliminated them after penalties and became the champions. So maybe Egypt would like a payback here. We could see enjoyable games between them.

Senegal deserves having the cup, all through the AFCON tournament Senegal performed better in every of their games. This Victory will always remain in the mind on of Senegalese,  with the fact that this tournament was one of the best that was so interesting,  for Senegal winning it for the first time is a great experience  to think about.

Given the ideas that FIFA officials are promoting, there is no point in worrying about schedules and plans 
They want to break everything, but why not do it in a logical way? In my opinion, the World Cup will only win if the champions of all local competitions (America's Cup, Africa Cup, Nations League, European Championship, etc.) take part in it. As for skipping the qualifying round, it's not a problem as the host countries always skip the qualifying round and it's not a problem.

There won't be anything like pay back, is a game and the better side with luck will win. On the day Senegal played far better than Egypt but they almost lost the game if not the destiny to be the winner and mane redeemed himself by scoring his second penalty kick after losing the first during the first half game. I believe that the well prepared team should always win and Senegal, they surely deserve the win.

The playoff is a two legged matches to be played both home and away, Ghana will host Nigeria between March 23 and 24 in Cape Coast Stadium not February 14 while the final match will take place in Nigeria capital city Abuja National stadium, both countries will renew their rivary in African football, however I am tipping Nigeria to win and qualify for the wiorld Cup in Quatar having considered the dismal outing of the Ghanaian national team in the recently concluded AFCON in cameroon, though Nigeria crashed out early but played well but were unlucky.

Cameroon  gave a nice surprise to score 3 goals before defeating  burkina faso with a penalty.  I'm impressed with aboukars performance, he was brought to the game  during the second half of the match and he was able to score  2 goals within 3 minutes.  When  burkina faso were leading with 3 goals I thought that was the end of the game.

Burkina Faso really messed up after leading by 3-0 they conceded easy goals, no thanks to their goalkeeper who flopped after he left his line thus miss his target while trying to punch off the ball, kudos to the cameroonians who never gave up and came back into the game with determination and zeal and a fighting spirit at the end were well rewarded with a third place, the lesson I learnt from this match is that never give up and endeavor to fight back until it is over, the cameroonians were already written off after conceding three goals however they eventually won the match.

In my opinion,i think Burkina faso didn't do well at all,they were leading by 3:0 i expected their coach to bring in defenders to give a total defence against their opponent being the Cameroon players.i was so angry and also disappointed with the way Burkina faso goal keeper kept it was as if the game was his first match as a goal keeper.their defenders allowed abubaker to have his way there by giving him space to score two goals.it was a big shame seeing Burkina faso draw a game i thought they have won already.

I would still guess that Senegal should be directly going there, but I assume that since it already started way before it should, that caused a bit of the problem as well. I am not sure whats going to happen with this, imagine a world where African cup winners do not even join the world cup, that would ahve been a very weird situation.

I am sure they will get at least participation even if they do not win anything. In any case, it is going to be basically a repeat if you ask me, maybe top teams wouldn't work as hard as they could, because it is only qualifiers, but their talent is there so I doubt that it would be too much different if you ask me.

I want to see a different scoreline in the qualifiers for the world cup when the two countries meet again on 23rd of next month. I expect it is going to be a different ball game and Egypt will seek revenge. Senegal will struggle to catch up. That is the way I want it to end. I will want Egypt to win in both legs of that qualifiers. It is not a good thing to defeat a man twice lol.

That's just the way those things often go. A player from the winning team is often favored against potentially better players from a losing team. I guess Aboubakar would have been the top player for sure if Cameroon had won the tournament.

Exactly, those set of people thinking that CAF made an error in judgement giving the award to Mane do not exactly understand how football works. Mane as the most influential player on the Senegalese side, did exceptionally well piloting and inspiring his team to their first cup from AFCON, that is deserving of an award. Aboubakar had a good display in the tournament, and he had his recognition as the top scorer, that is good as well.

Forget the fact that Senegal won so someone from the team deserve the title, did you actually watch the tournament, if you did you will understand sadio Mane was vital to his team. Football isn't just about goal, sadio Mane played alot of impact in the senagal team his assistant held lead them to the finals that they finally won. I can't remember the match but he did played an impact on one if the game he wasn't substituted after suffering a head injury and later assisted or scored in that match.

Go rewatch the finals, mane was working tirelessly to put his team in front before and after missing the penalty. Vincent Aboubakar only scored goals and nothing more besides Cameroon had one of the easiest runs in regards to the nations they played and the one time they were matched with a worthy team, they couldn't go through.
