As many suppliers as there is today for just about anything you wouldn't think it would be that much trouble. However it seems that it is so application specific there is no need for anyone to supply it to the public. I wasn't planing on salvaging anything to get a fix, and the time to do it all. Anyway, I do appreciate the replies. It looks like I need to get more aggressive and try to clean out the melted plastic with more than a paper clip. I believe I have some of these on hand. If you want, and I still have some, I can dig one out for you. If you don't mind, shoot me a PM if you have one. Thanks. I am still open for trade on this unit. 1:1 shipped in US. I'd just like to say thank you to all that gave me suggestions on where to find/salvage a 90 female PCI-e connector helping me fix this. A HUGE THANK YOU to dropt for sending me a fresh replacement that has made this unit hash as it once was. It's people like him and anyone that goes out of their way to lending a helping hand to other members that really make this a great community. Cheers! Thank you for sharing end result. Sadly a lot don't share end result. But it's great to hear you got it going again! Cool story that it was not as bad as I thought. Best of luck mining!

Chances are if they ever did it they would get it from another company. Chances are they would not spend the money to open a entirely different company. I don't know I see a lot of possible problems, especially if normal people are installing the solar panels. So that means extra money on support aswell.

After a 2 week SP20 shutdown with NO movement, NO manipulation AT ALL. merely switched off at the plug.
only 1 chip is hashing.
there is no visible damage to the headers, so i am stumped.
will open her up today but hardly care at all - just saying these rigs arent all that great.
non-believers, feel free to sling 'mud'

I think you might have got a dud. I'm have 2 SP20's that have worked perfect since I got them. I have been running underclocked over past few months though. So they might have a "easier" life then some out there. I am not sure what it would be either from your description. I hope it is something easy like a loose cable/board. Please update us once you hopefully find out what is causing it.

EVERYthing else was eventually sorted out to my satisfaction.
it took a while and was not as smooth as i'd have liked but must be honest and I appreciate the eventualities.
as for this fk - who knows, i cant even work up the will to open her yet - i can hear it in the other room winding up & down, up & down...
i have better things to do.

What settings are you running? Someone else reported similar when starting voltage was too low, the chips would get stuck in a loop trying to initialise.
