All,  I found some pretty efficient settings for the SP-31s that I unboxed yesterday.  Fan 50, Start Max Voltage .64, Max Voltage .67 and Max PSU Watts set at 750W per power supply.  This gives me a hash rate of 3500 Ghs at 1500w.  Verified on PDUs.  Very efficient underclocking with this miner.  Thanks for all for charts and info.

There is an unofficial thread for the SP20s.  At this time, I am looking at underclocking my SP30;
Currently pulling 3KW and 4.5T

Does anyone of the top of their heads have the best settings for a SP30 for the best hash/watt/fan rate?

I just noticed that the serial connector is different on 2 of 4 of my SP20s.  My two slower SP20s have a shielded (metal) serial jack, but the other two faster SP20s have an unshielded (black plastic) serial jack.  The ones with the black jacks also get less invalid shares (~0.06% vs~ 0.13%).  Different batches?

do you know WHAT their tech will be?
I am quite curious, as i don't think that mass market device makes any sense at current BTC prices, unless it is a dual use device (married with router or heater).

I know, but I can't share.
It's NOT game changer.

Well, I was in the process of doing it, but you just blew my plans.
Seriously, I'm sorry, but I can't.

without knowing what it is, this is what I suspect as well, but there will be people who will pay $10K or more for the gold apple watch.
I can envision highly compensated silicon valley crowd prowdly displaying a humming beige box telling their buddies that "i've got blockchain 3000 server right there", friends will tell friends, post it on fb, and on and on.

If anyone really knew and could predict the market movements, they wouldn't share it here. They'd be too busy snorting coke through one of these.

So will Spondoolies not be releasing a new home miner for quite a while? I guess we are stuck with Bitmain and their price gouging? I would love to buy something larger like the SP31, but do not have the electrical setup for that. I really do not like how Bitmain jacked up prices and added in pre orders. SP please save us!!

SP31s aren't too bad in a home setting if you underclock them. Underclocking is a good idea anyway because of the efficiency gains. You can get about 4 TH/s on 2.1 kW. Reducing the power consumption lets you drop the fan speeds substantially, which reduces the noise that they generate.

<shameless plug>Of course, you're likely to be better off sticking them someplace like http://toom.im... </shameless>
