Can Spondoolies-Tech get some money like KNC did and sell from stock next time? So none of this waiting or "shipping in September" and then shipping starts September 30th. KNC is getting out of selling mining hardware to consumers all together. They want the big money. Hard to resist SP-TECH? I say within the next year you'll start mining yourselves, if you already haven't. We don't know. With all those SP30's around, why not power some on and get a return? It is the way of mining manufacturers. They all have started mining on their own since selling hardware is a pain in the ass. Come on, you can tell us. You've surveyed a couple of buildings for your data center, no? Smiley

http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/spondoolies-tech-introduces-sp20-jackson-1-7-ths-home-miners/

Quoted in part:
Spondoolies-Tech is releasing a new miner named the SP20-Jackson that will start shipping in October. They are doing this to help fill the gap in the mining industry for the home and smaller mining farm market. Many companies have become sensitive about mining becoming too expensive and too centralized. Spondoolies-Tech, with the introduction of the SP20 Bitcoin ASIC Miner, is addressing that concern. The specs of the SP20-Jackson fall in the mid range end of miners and are better suited to being housed at home.

Specifications as of press time:

Hash Rate: 1.7 th/s +/- 5%, Over Clockable to 1.8 th/s, 8 ASIC Chips
Power Consumption: 1100 watts at the wall with a Gold rated, 90% efficiency PSU suggested
Power connections: 4x PCIe
Smaller Form Factor 1/3 size of the SP30, 60dB or less estimated

I asked Gadi Glikberg of Spondoolies-Tech about the announcement and what he had to say was pointed as he and Guy Corem always are.

As I’m sure you know, a lot of people have declared home mining to be a thing of the past.

That however is only true if home miners do not have access to the most efficient ASIC in the market.

To help spread the hash rate, we are preparing to launch the SP20 – Jackson. A home mining unit that puts the power back in the hands of home miners. We’ll start taking pre-orders for October delivery‏.

The power to gh/s ratio is creeping down across the board. This lower power requirement makes it easier for home users to run the miners while keeping the hash rate up. The announcement comes on the heels of the SP30 reveal in August. The SP30 runs at 4.5 th/s and 2900 watts at the wall on 220v. While the SP30 is the top miner in the wild right now, the smaller footprint and power consumption of the SP20 will be attractive to many that can’t afford the larger SP30. The SP31-Yukon is the successor to the SP31 runs at a blistering 5.5 th/s at 2800 to 3000 watts as the wall and is also shipping in October. The specifications of both the SP20 and the SP31 are impressive to say the least.

With Spondoolies-Tech’s SP20 and SP31 on the market at the same time, they should be able to offer the range of miners demanded by home and larger users. Spondoolies-Tech is not resting; they are actively working on many projects and as Zvisha stated:

Well, I sleep a lot less, but it is fun. I am working on three generations of our product at the same time; I don’t think I would do that in any other company. SP10 went on the market six months ago, and it became end-of-life after four months. That is crazy. The competition is so strong and dynamic, if you stop for one month you can be out of the game.

Almost exactly what I was asking for:

I'd be much happier with a 2 TH/s 2U unit where you didn't have to run the PSUs at 110% and have to run them on 220V to get their full performance. 2 TH/s in 2U is plenty dense for any hosting facility.

Sell it from stock (for the right price of course) and I'm in!

I'd love to see some pictures of all your gear running. How many cages did you use for all 37 of them? How many can you shove in one rack? How's the temperature been stable since you have been adding lots of sultry hardware? Don't forget the ear protection. One of my co-workers worked in the head-end (that's what some cable companies call their computer rooms full of switches and gear) and never used ear protection. He lost about %40 of his hearing over time and didn't even notice until it was too late since it happened slowly. And there are signs all over the place warning to use ear protection. Derrrrr.

ok you are scaring me with this now, is the noise of one or two SP30's loud enough to cause hearing loss ?

I bet they are very loud... Think about it 3000Watts of heat needs to get out of that case.

The SP20 looks like a very interesting product, and definitely fills a need in the market.

I like the fact that it is geared towards home miners.

If the price and delivery date are reasonable, I'm in!

Now this is interesting, and the FIRST time Spondoolies (to my knowledge) have not kept us up to speed on the forum, we hear news from another source. Thanks nhminer.

Get the price right, and you'll have a best seller - eating into Bitmains market (unless they have a killer S4 around the corner). If you don't have one to hand, the PSU will cost you a few, but many S1/S3 owners have 1200W/1500W units powering multiple Antminers right now. (Not sure a Corsair AX1200i would be up for the job on this?).

Reading the article, I'm guessing/hoping no lengthy pre-orders here, or if so, delivery within a short window of time.

I host my SP10s and SP30s at DCs, but also boost the hash rate by hosting a certain amount of KW personally. If the price and spec is right, I'll be upgrading my smaller miners ... just as winter begins ... toasty  Cool

No, unless you have a special "roadstress" price.
Is it possible to use more than one coupon on a single SP-31?

Yes, Barbara said "The gift cards are transferable. The system accepts one gift card and one discount per order, so if you have multiple gift cards we would need to consolidate them for you. We would need to receive permission from the owner of the gift card to do the consolidation."

Thanks, but not very clear. So, I cannot use two of my own coupons on one order, but if I have a coupon and bought another coupon from someone, then I can use two?
This is not very logical.
