Yes it is, if Manchester United can't bring in any players it will be a loss for them because they can't forgive their opportunity in the transfer window. But I don't think that's going to happen, especially since some of their players are leaving Old Trafford one by one. Of course they have to find a substitute to fill the void.

According to AS' claim, Real Madrid are already planning to trigger Erling Haaland's current release clause at Manchester City which is worth 150 million euros now. They are planning to do this in 2024. I wonder whether Manchester City will be able to prevent them from doing this by convincing Erling Haaland to remove his release clause or increase it too much. If I'm not mistaken Matic has been brought in by As Roma and so far at a fairly large rate, which is above 4 million euros by signing a contract for the next one season. So so far Manchester United has not provided information about his change of position.

But it would be better for City to sell him at this moment, fearing Sterling is not willing to extend his contract or maybe City won't renew his contract. Since that is the case, Sterling will be a free player at the end of next season, therefore if it is possible for Chelsea to press on with a new higher offer then I think it can be an offer that will be agreed. Manchester United must prevent a frantic transfer, Eriksen had problems with his heart. Even though he has been declared cured, there is no guarantee that his heart will not recur. Not good enough. They only have above average squad that is in balance between defense and attacking. Their attacking is not bad but their defense is. Their attacking is not good enough to cover their defense so their general result is bad.

Every time a new coach manages this team it is always accompanied by the belief that they will be successful, but in reality they are not able to deliver everything that is expected. Now that Ten Hag came with the same expectation, the question was whether he would really be able to give his best or not.

Coaches are only parts of their issues, not their main or only issue. Issues are from their President, Woodward etc who had  very bad strategy to develop the club. They spent a lot of money for transfers and salary but receive too little back. They failed to deal with other  clubs and bought players at more expensive cost than other clubs would pay.

Many coaches had problems with transfers too. They were not given enough power to decide or reject what players they want or don't want to have in squad. Then they could not use those unwanted players well.

Is there any truth to these rumors that City is willing to sell Sterling to Chelsea? I keep seeing it more and more and to be honest - it does not make much sense to me.

The money mentioned is not really big, Sterling is English and has played quite a lot for City. With him gone they would be really thin on the wings and would probably need to bring another player in. Not many better ones than Sterling, especially for the price that has been mentioned.

I would have loved him at Liverpool as Mane's replacement.

This issue is true even Chelsea have made an offer even though it was rejected by City.
Sterling is a pretty good player but the problem with the number of strikers now that he is definitely struggling to find a place, there are names like B. Silva or Mahrez who are always on the wings for City and indeed this is quite difficult for Sterling and for the center striker it is also impossible because Haaland was there.

for a while it looks like MU has been able to take back james garner (whom they loaned to Nottingham forest) as a substitute for pogba, because garner played quite well for N forest last season

I think Manchester United did the right thing by letting Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba leave, for Matic age is no longer on his side and United will be looking forward to getting a younger midfielder to replace Matic and for Paul Pogba, looking at his previous performances for Manchester United,I think he didn't play the last season's game with his mind and at such, he needs to go so he can be happy.  There are so many good players to replace Pogba I expect the new coach to take his time so he can get a sharp and quality player to replace Pogba.
