Yes I approve both projects, whilst the fork is hard 1. "Infiltrate China" project 2. MM Pool project ... Slush Rush ( signup and login to slushpool and vote for UNO ) -PENDING- Will contribute to both. 5kg UNO pledged for Daniel H Can we do the UNOs as a Bonus and pay $/BTC wise, Daniel H might become a HODL'r that way;) Here's CNY/UNO for the last 13 months. Big question is how to translate Unobtanium? I think any decent translator will be able to find 5-7 ways of translating it. So for me, I'd like to see the options first before we choose. Visually how to the characters look to Western eyes. Also making sure we don't have some funky weird translation ... e.g. ... I tried via online translators and got "Can Not Cage" or "Can not find it". in BASIC ENGLISH Unobtanium = a. most rare element b. very expensive material (costly material) I did not see an existing topic at Slush for Uno so I made one. I would love that pool to implement it. https://mining.bitcoin.cz/proposal/detail/406/I am not getting confirmed transactions in my uno address. xpool stated something was up earlier and when I checked I have several deposits to my uno address, but they are not being confirmed: Checking my addy from a block explorer:
Summary confirmed Total Received 0 UNO Total Sent 0 UNO Final Balance 0 UNO No. Transactions 0
Unconfirmed Txs Balance 0.01341945 UNO No. Transactions 4 Each transaction from the pool to several addresses including mine shows: FEE: VALUE ERROR
There are several transactions with 900, 600, etc confirmations
|
Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function. Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

Please calm down, you haven't lost anything. Just download the . 1 wallet and let it update. Your coins are on the rockchain.
Nope. Not gonna do it. Read my last. If you are not backwards compatible with the wallet universally without a mandatory prompt to upgrade, then this coin long term is a failure. If I have to watch this forum to make this coin work, then this coin is a long term failure. Guys it's only like a dollar I'm losing. The point is much more valuable. I like this coin and not as Jr.Member as you think. As BitcoinCharlie said you have not lost anything. Its just your old wallet thinks it sent a transaction, when infact it sent nothing on the correct chain. Again nothing lost. Download the new wallet, let it sync and your coins will be back again - if they are not simply run salvagewallet. There was a prompt for some time to upgrade on my daemons, like at least 2-4 weeks I think. Maybe this could be better shown on the qt wallet in future.

Now, I first apologise without reservation if I misapprehend here: but if we're speaking basically of marketing ourselves, then per force I agree that there is was a problem. But -- and I look forward to your involvement -- we've entered a new and permanent phase, one in which it isn't assumed that users have to hunt about to 'make this coin work,' one in which this technically fine crypto will be made universally accessible. Why can't the dev just compile the 0.10. wallets and get them out? I am still short of 25 UNO that I can't access

Hey, EBK! You have a right to be frustrated!
But merged-mining is a solution to a long-term issue, and it's happening. However [sigh], it seems we've overloaded our dev, but we're workin' hard to solve the problems.
[I just got my transactions all up to date . . . although that won't make you feel much better!]
Bottom Line? Yes (IMHO), we need to sharpen our marketing skills; but -- out of around 2,000 cryptos that started this marathon -- we're now tortoising along in the top half dozen.

Because "the dev" is only a twitterbot and might not exist outside twitter. But we share the same fate. So stay strong, brother. Eventually it'll be resolved. Give it a little time. We have to sit it out.

Yes there are some glitches to upgrading to MM ... we are but a rag-tag patchwork of merry men here Things to reflect upon ... when the New York Times says something it is happening !! http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/may/13/nasdaq-bitcoin-blockchainTHE MONEY ISSUEErik Voorhees on Twitter: Can we take a moment to reflect on the fact that the Bitcoin protocol STILL hasn't been hacked? One of the greatest comp sci accomplishments UNO is now part of the Bitcoin protocol and network! In terms of code improvements and security we have de facto aligned interests. High Net Worth, bitcoin VC types, really will be considering which will provide better insurance to keep the btc PH/s on the up (aka profitable) ... $500k dropped into Name or $500k dropped into UNO ... hmm let's do the simple math --------- Brief re-write https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=527500.msg11366822#msg11366822--------- Worth i think your theory is right.

I was frustrated myself a few days ago because of technical problems with the wallet, but even if I hadn't found a fix for my situation I still would not have gotten angry with the devs, etc. and launched into rants like many are wont to do. UNO is a rare currency, so even by hodling it I am ok. I figured my best bet was to take the energy I would spend complaining and apply it to research and trying things on my own.
This community has stated many times that "no one is in charge" and that's good. Don't like the current state of UNO development? It is open-source software, feel free to fork it and fix the problems to your liking!
[/end rant]

Perfect, many thanks mmpool! I'm seeing high cpu usage with the new wallet, between 7% - 27%, hopefully this can be cleaned up at a later date, but the main thing is that it seems to be working: @ FK: It might be an idea to put the download link mmpool supplied on the main page & remove the outdated wallet download links temporarily until BW catches up - this will hopefully eliminate any more mistaken downloads & confusion?

I just got an email notification that BW did indeed merge the fix that was posted yesterday, so there is that.

That is very good news. I have decided to bite the bullet and learn how to do damned gitian builds, so when things like this happen again we linux geeks won't be the only ones with working code.

Does that mean there's an official Windows wallet?
Pregnant silence... Actually, the unofficial one works well. I dropped the 1.0 unofficial beta executable in the folder where the 0.95 executable is located (C:\Program Files (x86)\Unobtanium on my system), updated the shortcut to point to the new one, and once the reindexing is finished, everything seems to work well -- "missing" coins all of a sudden appear. It would nice for appearances sake if there were an official installer/setup file that would create and/or update existing installations, and it would be nice for appearances sake if the newly installed version could check for updates automatically, but hey, one step at a time...

Auto update sounds great to me.
Keep your eyes out for good, trustworthy devs who would like to share their skills with Unobtanium, and in the process gain our admiration and the cred of working on a long lived, respected, vetted fair launch crypto with a decent marketcap, which gets media attention, backed by an awesome community, and a great story. If you are such a dev, PM me.

I am sticking with it for the long haul, especially due to the correlation with physical metals. I fully intend to build the majority of my projects on top of UNO.
