Here's my predictions for the new season:

1. Liverpool (if they make signings)
2. Manchester United
3. Manchester City
4. Chelsea

The thing with Liverpool is they haven't made any signings apart from Konate, who is a fantastic addition to their squad. However, they still lack that true striker, and while Firminho may come back to his best, it would be a safer bet to get someone in who is a proven outright striker, and then chop, and change them based on the opponent, and form.

Manchester United have made fantastic additions this summer. They've probably had the best window out of everyone in the Premier League, and I would expect them to either be first or second it really does depend on how well as a team they gel with the new players. The season after this one, I would expect them to be top of my list unless other teams make some serious signings.

This is probably the first time for a long time that Manchester City doesn't look so much better than the rest of the league on paper. They have lost a few important players over the years, and they haven't made many big signings. I feel like after many years of success they might actually be starting to stagnate, and as a result will struggle to stay on top with a constantly evolving league.

Last year I thought Chelsea signed some very good players, but they never really got to gel together, and as a result they probably under performed from a lot of fan's perspectives when they first heard about the type of players they were signing. Their success this season completely depends on whether they've worked out that issue. However, other teams like Manchester United have seriously stepped up their game in signings at least, and Chelsea no longer have the better players when you compare the two.

City:  I think they’re still the club to beat.  They got a deep squad, a great manager and they do seem to be hungry for more silverware.  The def need a profilic striker tho.

Chelsea:  I wouldn’t fault anybody if they argued that Chelsea could win the league.  They also have a deep squad and one potentially great manager.  I pat myself on the back for saying they got the squad to win the CL...  And they did.  Grin

Liverpool:  Still could win the league but dunno...  Like you said, they need new signings.  I think that back line needs another good CB.  We’ve seen what happened with them without VVD.

United:  This could be a surprise.  They could either be really reeaally good or just good enough for a max spot of second in the league.  And I’m not really convinced with Solksjaer even tho he has Mike Phelan backing him.

Hahahah I'm not talking about the forum I was referring to you Jolly I can give at least 200 instance where you wanted Chelsea to fall, you never supported us last season, if that is not anti-chelsea agenda I wonder what that is.  Grin I want you to publicly announce your favourite club before the season begins.
..snip...
Thank you for contributing in the thread and making it an enjoyable read but there was no anti-Chelsea agenda by the referees on the pitch or by members of this forum  Wink

Here's my predictions for the new season:

1. Liverpool (if they make signings)
2.......
Welcome to the thread@welsh I hope to see you stay more longer on the thread to watch your predictions turns upside down, your prediction is opposite mind so lets see how it goes.

Here is how I think it will end:

1- Manchester City
2- Manchester United
3- Chelsea
4- Leicester City

Chelsea have signed just a goalkeeper on a free transfer but they have been playing brilliant since Tuchel arrived. He turned them in to a winnign machine. Yes they lost a few games along the way but the way he motivated those players to fight their way in to a 3rd place along with making them Champions League winners was just fantastic. I cannot see them winning the league this season and I think they could progress as far as the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

In my opinion Liverpool will not have a top 4 finish because they have lost the element of fear that was instilled upon opponents when they stood in the tunnel. They concede too many goals and do not score as freely as they used to in those two seasons where Liverpool were just dominant. Salah, Mane and Firmino have not been playing like they did in those first two seasons which saw Liverpool make back to back Champions League finals (winning one and losing one) and win their first Premier League title in 30 years. Wijnaldum has gone on a free transfer to PSG and that will affect the team balance. They do not seem to have longevity with the team Klopp built. I think they could progress as far as the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Manchester City signed a goalkeeper on a free transfer and that is very strange. I agree with you it certainly seems like (on paper) Manchester City do not look leagues ahead of competitors when looking at their squad. Guardiola probably believes his team will win the league again but can always strengthen his squad in the winter transfer window if things are not going according to plan. That belief in his team just might cost him dearly if he is not careful. Losing the Champions League final is probably one of the lowest points in the career of Guardiola so he and Manchester City will want to bounce back much stronger. I think they could progress as far as the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Manchester United have signed Varane and Sancho so they should be stronger this season than they were last. They are a young team and young squad. Losing the Europa League final would have hurt so they should bounce back stronger. I think they could progress as far as the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

1. Liverpool (if they make signings)
2. Manchester United

My prediction for the team that will win the title for the 2021-2022 season.
  • Manchester City
  • Chelsea
  • Manchester United
  • Liverpool
  • Tottenham

Not only because I'm a Manchester City fan, but I see this team still serious enough to win the Premier League title every season if we look at the way they strengthen the team with new players. Guardiola's influence on the mentality of the team was huge, but last season's UCL final defeat was very disappointing for everyone there and I really believe in that. In the 2021-2022 season, Guardiola and his team must move to improve it and try to give their best in all the competition they participate in.

My prediction for 2021-2022 season.
  • Chelsea
  • Manchester City
  • Manchester United
  • Liverpool
  • Leicester City

Chelsea made some good signing last season and that's the reason they are so quite in the present transfer window, I'm tipping them to win the league with the hope that that would sign Halaand to have a complete squad(if they don't I'll come back to this post)  Grin and make some adjustments before the kickoff

My prediction for 2021-2022 season.

  • Manchester City
  • Liverpool
  • Chelsea
  • Manchester United
  • Leicester City

Here is my list of the top 5 for new season, I don't think Chelsea would compete for the league really just yet, I'll stick with City to win the league but Liverpool giving them a run for their money.

If you look at the composition of the current squad and the activities of several teams in the transfer market this summer, I prefer Manchester United to be the champion of the English league next season, apart from their fairly consistent game last season, of course, the Sancho factor and several other star players who being recruited this season is one of the factors that Manchester United has a great chance of becoming the EPL champion for the 2021/2022 season.

My prediction for the team that will win the title for the 2021-2022 season.

1. Manchester United
2. Manchester City
3. Liverpool
4. Chelsea

If Harry Kane will joins Manchester City, I hope Manchester City will win the title next season as well. Aguero has left Manchester City, now city needs a replacement of Aguero. I want to put Manchester United in the second place. This team is strong enough. I don't think there is any possibility of Chelsea or Liverpool.

My Prediction for This Current Season.

  • Manchester United
  • Manchester City
  • Liverpool
  • Chelsea
  • Tottenham

I think this season is Manchester United's season after the arrival of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane Cool

It is unlikely that Manchester United will become the champion that soon. They will need a couple of seasons for the team to play against each other. And do not forget that new players must adapt to the new league. Varan played a less intense league. In the Premier League it will be more difficult for him to adapt.

Liverpool:  Still could win the league but dunno...  Like you said, they need new signings.  I think that back line needs another good CB.  We’ve seen what happened with them without VVD.
Konate, VVD, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip should be enough in that center back position which was particularly problematic. Liverpool are vulnerable if they lose Trent more than anything. Its also worth noting that seasons like last season don't happen often, and they suffered several very long term injuries (1+ years) to some of their star players. They'll be much better this season.

United:  This could be a surprise.  They could either be really reeaally good or just good enough for a max spot of second in the league.  And I’m not really convinced with Solksjaer even tho he has Mike Phelan backing him.
I hate to say it, but if Moaninho was still at the club with these signings I would probably be putting them up at the top spot. I think they've finally solved a lot of their problem areas, other than their manager. I'm not convinced that Solsjaer is suitable for a club like Man United who should be challenging for the title every year.

The way the clubs have behaved during the summer transfer window speaks volumes about intent:

Chelsea:
Marcus Bettinelli from Fulham for free

Leicester City:
Boubakary Soumare from Lille for £17m
Patson Daka from Red Bull Salzburg for £23m
Ryan Bertrand (free from Southampton)

Liverpool:
Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig for £36m

Manchester City:
Scott Carson Derby from free

Manchester United:
Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73m
Tom Heaton from Aston Villa
Raphael Varane from Real Madrid for £34

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City believe they have the squad to challenge for the Premier League title so they had very little activity. Manchester United and Leicester City believed they needed to strengthen their squad to challenge for the title so they went out and purchased players. Apart from that, Manchester City have started talks with Aston Villa over the possible signing of Jack Grealish but no deal has been agreed yet and maybe he will want to stay at Villa.

It'll be interesting to see how Konate sizes up compared to Varane due to their similar transfer fees. No doubt, Konate has the future ahead of him, but I think hes already a very well rounded player at his age, and could potentially be the signing of the season so far. At least in the defender department, I imagine Sancho is going to make a few waves.

prediction for 2021/2022 season:
  • Manchester United
  • Manchester City
  • Liecester City
  • Chelsea
  • Liverpool

Manchester United are quite prepared to lift the premier league title this season following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer update on Manchester United readiness for the season
I never have my belief in Solskjaer and Manchester United. Varane and Sancho are not enough to help Solskjaer and they don't have a good striker for a new season. Cavani is good but he is old and he might not be able to play a complete season at his best for Manchester United.

Furthermore, how Leicester City might have higher position than Chelsea and Liverpool. Remember that their squad will become older and they are still depended on Jamie Vardy.

The race to the title will be among two Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Chelsea. Leicester City can try to join the top 4 and it is all they can do. They lost the fourth position in last two seasons at the end. Will they manage to get it when the season 2021 - 2022 finishes?

We are used to seeing Manchester United being a potential league champion every season after adding 1 or 2 players to the squad and end up winning nothing  Grin the arrival or Sancho ( which I know won't adapt quickly to EPL) and Varane who is precisely not a very good defender, has been living under the shadow of Ramos for so long and having two defenders (Maguire and Varane)
who are only good on the air won't be a good match.

I'm only concern about Leicester City they made some good transfers while still holding their old squad, they are turning up to permanently kick Tottenham and Arsenal chances of European competition spot to the mud.

Manchester City and Chelsea are confident of the team they have so far, they are not overhauling they are just trying to strengthen up some positions. Manchester City are likely going to add either Kane or Jack Grealish to the squad before the deadline while Chelsea are still on Halaand radar as Likakau seems impossible this season to get.

I'll even go as far to predict that Manchester United will hire a new manager by the end of next season. Probably, no fault of Solskjaer I just think its going to take a little bit of time to get the team to gel, and that's not because of the new signings, but they just haven't clicked at the best of times. When they bring in a new more experienced manager I see them definitely being more of a force.

Kane is a Tottenham fan, he would love to stay but if he cannot see himself winning any silverware before he retires then he will consider it. Manchester City are a handful of clubs that could afford to buy him but will he go?

And on the other side Grealish is a Villa fan, he would love to stay at Aston Villa but what silverware are Villa going to win soon? Spurs and Villa fans would easily forgive them for going to bigger clubs in the hope of winning trophies.

If I had to guess I think both players will stay at their clubs for at least one more season.

This is going to be scary season if they lay their hands on Jack and Kane just imagine Kane at CF, Sterling and Mahrez on the wing while Jack, Kelvin De Brune and Benado Silva terrorising the midfield this is going to be a strong team to beat this season but I don't think the Kane and Jack.G deal would through, I think they have already turned attention to Jack after the high demands from Tottenham for Kane. I see this deal going through.  Smiley we may see here we go soon from Fabrizio.

I might have to change my predictions, at the moment it doesn't seem like Liverpool are in for any players, of course there's plenty of time for that to change, but at the moment its quite quiet on their front. A lot of their rivals have already got the players they have been linked with, and wanted. Its important in my opinion that you get players as early as possible, because then they settle in quicker, and can have a preseason with the team they'll be expected to play in.

Grealish comes across as a person who would rather be winning silverware, than be loyal to the club he supports, and of course there's nothing really wrong with that. They are professionals at the end of the day. Its easy for me to sit here, and say I would stay with my favourite club, but I imagine a lot of these players want to create a legacy filled with trophies rather than loyalty.
