Sorry i did not include i am using a coolermaster 850 W psu and uninstall all and reinstall all had no effect. I logged onto mmorpg and it seems very responsive for gaming.

Did you try any other miners? I'd propose this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167229.0
See if it's miner related. If it's not, maybe something is wrong with the CUDA drivers. Try an external uninstaller program to remove completely every old driver there is. Some of them include the registry entries (CUDA will probably be addressing your old registry keys).

I'm just guessing here. Undecided

finally got a virus free version... but lo and behold it does not support cryptonight...

do you have any other miners in mind that do support cryptonight ?

There's no virus in there; I'm certain. I just downloaded the zip from their official thread. Unfortunately, the miners for Cryptonote are very few Sad

but does cudaminer support cryptonight algo ?? I could not get it to work on minergate pools

I only said about it in order to test your rig, NOT to mine for CN. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear on that. Undecided

New miner with a dumb question
I have amd m2n32sli deluxe motherboard 3.0 ghz processor 4 gigs ram running windows 7 64 with an evga gtx 560 TI graphics card.  The gpu hash rate is about 150 h/s
I just went and bought a new evga gtx 970 graphics card but oddly enough it doesnt do anything.. It shows 0 h/s and eventually minergate stops responding..  No matter if i set intensity at 1 or 2,3,4.

Any ideas.

Fyi the drivers for the 560 and the 970 are the same version number from evga website

You can certainly get higher hashrates. We have systems setup with GTX 570 cards that achieve 230-240 h/s mining cryptonote using ccminer mod for compute 2.0 cards.

Run 3 cards per system.

It would be much appreciated if someone can confirm if Compute Capability 1.1 GPUs such as 9800GTX+/GTS250 are supported via GUI miner.  I've attempted to use the console miner on 340.52, the latest driver w/ support for my GPUs but unfortunately, GPU usage doesn't exceed 1%.

On another note, I would welcome any advice as to which algorithms/miners are supported by my previously mentioned GPUs.  I've tried mining x11 w/ Cudaminer& ccminer and GPU utilization is also ~ 1%, making Scrypt my only viable yet unprofitable option.

Thanks to anyone in advance for offering their help!

I've been mining Scrypt for around 2 weeks but was forced to stop since my balance unfortunately stopped increasing about 2 days in the process despite the fact that I'm submitting good shares which are reported within Minergate's dashboard as well as cudaminer.  The sum which I've accumulated has also yet to be confirmed and from the looks of it, never will.

I hope a developer can look into the matter to ultimately resolve the issue.

Your hashrate is very low, so sometimes you don't receive a reward, and when receive, the reward is small. Your balance is not enough to be confirmed.

So, there is no bug in our pools in your case.

Hi, so I tried out your pool and it was fun to mint some currency.  I was wondering, can I get a small usb asic miner and use that too, or is it cpu only?

Thanks.

Hello,

I am using Windows 7 and when I try to login with Minergate GUI software, nothing seems to happen. Also the console version is not working. I tried out several versions but it's always the same problem.

I created a support ticket. They told me to try out the newest version. I did. Same Problem.

My internet connection is working fine, my antivirus is turned off and I'm not using any proxy or firewall. The problem still exists, when I'm booting into safe mode.

Here is the log file (edited email adress):

Check if your firewall blocks Minergate's connection. This is the most common problem.

Cheers.

However I want to mine some low difficulty alt coins just for fun, maybe with a usb miner or an antman u3. I estimate I could get set up for less than $100 usd including a raspberry pi.

Thanks for the help!

As you're a newbie to the mining business, I must inform you that you can't mine for EVERYTHING with a USB ASIC. ASIC stands for Application Specific Integrated Circuit. That means in plain english that it's only made for one thing. Right now there are only two types of ASIC miners. That goes for SHA256 (Bitcoin-esque coins etc) and SCRYPT (Litecoin, Doge, etc family).

Cryptonote (where Minergate is king) is a beast of its own and no ASIC is available for mining yet. Chances are there will never be one. You can mine with your CPU or GPU and the most profitable right now seems to be the GPUs from Nvidia (750ti and the like). Each one of them manages to mine for about 1 XMR per week, which is not perfect but it makes you think you're actually not losing your time; electricity on the other way will get your pockets on fire, but still, an Nvidia card spends less juice than an Ati one.

I hope I solved some questions a newcomer has, if you have more just drop a line.

Chaos could be a form of intelligence we cannot yet understand its complexity.
