Jack Catterall vs Jorge Linares, no knockdown happen, Jack did his best to score but Linares has avoided that knockout. So it's pretty much a chess game all throughout but Jack is clearly winning on points as his left hand always finds it's target.

So the score is all in favour of Catterall: 117-111, and 116-112.

We were expecting that Josh Taylor will give Catterall his chance for a rematch as a domestic rival. But we all know that Taylor chooses to fight Teo Lopez and he was dominated and lost his belt. So there's no more hype of a Catterall and Taylor rematch.

Here are the highlight of the fight, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDt17FsjfW4

He fought at old Linares, so it should be an easy fight for him. However, Linares didn't make it easy for Jack, although Catterall has the power with this left hand, (not surprised that he should have won against Josh Taylor back then, and why Taylor didn't give him a rematch). But Linares seems to be in the best shape of his life that's why he was able to stand up until the 12 rounds.

So let's give props to the old champ, but with this performance, he should retire for good. He was a good 2x champ back in the days, knock down Loma during their fight, wobbled Haney. But now he is no longer in his prime and time to hang up that gloves.

As for Catterall, Teo Lopez could be a good fight for him next, for a title fight in the US.

I am now excited for this fight and for sure the next weekend for sure is the start of this fight,

Fury vs. Ngannou: Battle of the Baddest

They are really going all out in promoting this event. Just a few days ago the organizers of the event released a promo video with cameos from celebrities like Cristiano Ronaldo. They are also giving away $100,000 to whoever can predict the outcome. The Saudis want to show they are capable of hosting high profile events and portray their country in a positive light — this event is their way of achieving this goal.

As for Catterall, Teo Lopez could be a good fight for him next, for a title fight in the US.

There's a strong possibility Teofimo might fight Ryan Garcia. Arum and de la Hoya have already had a meeting to discuss it. Josh Taylor doesn't have many options at welterweight so he might end up facing Catterall at a catchweight while he waits for a PBC fighter to cross over to his side of the street.

Here is Haney with Freddie Roach.
https://x.com/MichaelBensonn/status/1715379595057201327?s=20

I am more amazed that Coach Roach still has the strength to take all those punches at his age. Superb!

For sure Freddie Roach still has it in him to take those punches but for me, Freddie Roach lacks footwork and movement for sure but still, Davin Haney respects him so much and this is really a great scene to see if you are a fan of Freddie Roach,

Jack Catterall vs Jorge Linares, no knockdown happen, Jack did his best to score but Linares has avoided that knockout. So it's pretty much a chess game all throughout but Jack is clearly winning on points as his left hand always finds it's target.

Good Assessment After watching the fight sure both are cautious and for sure they both really know what the other fighter can do mistake is not really an option for this fight for me it was a close fight but yeah Jack Catterall has some faints that he can surely utilize and because of his speed he has more output and was really moving so much, and for sure he is conditioning Linares is moving forward and then he would surely go and make that clean shot, It was an interesting fight for sure,

Ryan though will have a upcoming fight, so maybe we will see after he lost to Tank Davis and moving to 140 lbs, he still has that power. Although the question is more on his mental state. How can he recover after that huge defeat he suffer from Davis. Although he has change trainers already and working with Derrick James, he still don't know if he really make some adjustments as well.

But a Teo vs Ryan will make a lot of money, and could be the second successful fight in the 140 lbs following the 21 Million that Ryan And Tank make. I said that it could be second because we all know that his two are going to trash talk each other before the fight. So it will create a lot hype again and that's where both of this are really good. Specially Teo Lopez father. So it's going to be fun fight for us fans.

I took a pass in this fight last weekend. I find Catterall a boring fighter and he was cherry-picking a very old former 3 division champion. Catterall needs an impressive win in order to make trends in the division once again since Taylor already lost and is moving up in weight. But maybe he could get an offer from any of the current champions which I believe he still deserves.

As for Linares, I am glad he announced his retirement. He could've taken an easy fight and then retired for good. He's got great memories in his career. His journey was very inspiring. Venezuelan boxing has less support and sponsorships, the reason it is hard to become a champion or a long-time champion. Luckily for Linares, he started his career in Japan and was signed by Teiken Promotions. With Linares, Chocolatito Gonzales, and Edwin Valero, at the same time, those were the golden days of Teiken having developed foreigners into stardom.

But I guess fans are still wanting to see Jack Catterall because of his controversial fight with Josh Taylor back then. Fans wanted to see if Jack is for real. Although his fight is against a old and fading former champion in Jorge Linares, still a good gauge for Jack as Linares doesn't want to back down from his power left and chooses to fight fire with fire.

However, he is way past his prime already, and it's good that he will retire. Most likely he had a lot of money from his fights and save enough for his family. Specially you mentioned his humble beginnings and then become a world champion from Venezuela.

And if I'm not mistaken, one of the best boxer that came from Venezuela is Edwin Valero, it could have been great to see him fight Manny Pacquiao during their primes but Edwin was a enigma and it's sad how his career and life ended.

Well not an interesting match but it's worth the watch because we didn't have any other fights for boxing back then sure Jack Catterall has the speed and George Linares doesn't have the speed anymore so for sure against a younger fighter you can see the speed difference and so Catterall has won on the output,

I also want to see George Linares take on an easy fight and then retire, because after showcasing what he can do against Jack Catterall for sure many fans will agree that this is due to his age, Father time is really getting into him,

But I guess fans are still wanting to see Jack Catterall because of his controversial fight with Josh Taylor back then. Fans wanted to see if Jack is for real. It is really time for him to hang his gloves actually after watching the fight you can see who is faster and who is at his limits it was not an equal match for sure as Jack Catterall got the edge on the speed, but for sure George Linares have taken the beating like a champ and we can say that Linares still can withstand a blow from Catterallor Jack Catterall doesn't really have the power to knockout his opponent,

The fight will also be this weekends so we have a lot of banger fights.

Oh yeah will definitely watch this one.
October 28, 2023. Benito Juárez Sports Center in Cancun, Mexico

I like how O’Shaquie Foster plays with his opponents. He is good at dodging punches and then he comes back with a lot of jabs. Technical fighter. And he is still the favorite despite the fact that he will be fighting against the home crowd of Hernandez. How I wish they put more money into those who will bet for Foster to make it more attractive but I think it's also because of the fact that he is the only one who defeated Rey Vargas in points and it's not even a close one with just 1 point difference, from 4-10 points difference is what given by the judges like it's a mismatch.
We will see if Foster can repeat that kind of performance, the strategy will be different against Hernandez because he will try to get close to Foster unlike Rey Vargas who likes keeping a distance because of his long reach.

We will see if Foster can repeat that kind of performance, the strategy will be different against Hernandez because he will try to get close to Foster unlike Rey Vargas who likes keeping a distance because of his long reach.

He really dismantle the Rey Vargas that time, he negated Rey's height and reach advantage and uses his technical skill that we thought that it was mismatch. Or Rey Vargas really go up in weight and bitten off more than he can chew. So he goes back to 126 lbs for now.

But this time, he will be fighting the mandatory challenger if I'm not mistaken, as Hernandez ranks #1. And then Foster goes one level up to go to his opponents backyard and fight him. He really had a big cajones to do that and for sure there will be a lot of hostilities on him from the Mexican fans. You can see the boos and jeers during their press conference and I would image the same energy in the final weigh-in.

And if I'm not mistaken, one of the best boxer that came from Venezuela is Edwin Valero, it could have been great to see him fight Manny Pacquiao during their primes but Edwin was a enigma and it's sad how his career and life ended.

It would've been lit to see them fought at 130 or 135. There were really a lot of notable fighters that Pacman wasn't able to fight at 130-135 due to the Top Rank - Golden Boy war. At that time GBP had more popular fighters than TR. But it was also a blessing in disguise because Pacman would've spent years at 130 and 135 facing the likes of Valero, Joan Guzman, Joel Casamayor, Michael Katsidis, Juan Diaz, Jorge Barrios, and many more. Pacman would've not reached 147 and 154

I was late to notice GBP's card last weekend. By the time I tuned in it was already done. Alexis Rocha is an exciting fighter but he can't hurt his undefeated opponent Giovanni Santillan whose punishing lethal shots proved too much. It was a better match-up than Matchroom's Catterall-Linares.

It would've been nice if Linares made a farewell fight against an easier opponent in Japan where he started his pro career or in his native Venezuela. Linares already lost 4 straight fights. Fights that he was supposed to win if he was in his prime including Haney.

As I have said it was still an interesting event even though the Main was kind of a boring fight but watching it thoughtfully you can surely see how the punches and those technical ones were really a great sight to behold, for sure and yeah Giovanni Santillan has a great job in dealing with Alexis Rocha it was a fun fight to watch,

Well, an easy money fight maybe 2 fights just to secure him good enough money but to retain a winning record I think that is a great send of for him to retire,

Tyson Fury VS Francis N'Gannou

The Stake odds for this fight are 1.06 for Fury and 8.20 for N'Gannou this fight it is really interesting if an MMA fighter can defeat a boxer in the playing field boxer sure this is an interesting fight to watch me I think I will go with the MMA fighter I know I will be risking my bet for him but I am still doing this I think a good 1 punch can knock out Tyson well a lucky punch if it hits and after watching the fight conference for this fight it was really funny that Francis Ngannou got Tyson Fury with this one line sentence and it stopped the trash talk of Fury, for sure here is the video, https://www.youtube.com/shorts/GgK4izB2pkY

-snip-

They are really going all out in promoting this event. Just a few days ago the organizers of the event released a promo video with cameos from celebrities like Cristiano Ronaldo. They are also giving away $100,000 to whoever can predict the outcome. The Saudis want to show they are capable of hosting high profile events and portray their country in a positive light — this event is their way of achieving this goal.

For sure they really know that this is going to be an interesting fight that many would want to see and Tyson Fury is not really stopping fighting because, after this fight against Francis Ngannou, he will be fighting Oleksandr Usyk on December 31, that is something that Tyson Fury will be doing for sure, being a professional fighter and because Francis Ngannou is just an Exhibition match,

But I will be betting for the fight and going for the obvious win in this exhibition match

Tyson Fury (1.06) VS Francis N'Gannou (8.20)

This is for me is obvious I haven't seen an MMA fighter defeat a Pro Boxer and for this fight, Tyson Fury is on his playing field for sure, I wish that Tyson Fury would fight an MMA fighter in the cage but for sure that is not gonna happen, and because Tyson Fury knows that a boxer will not  stand a chance against an MMA fighter in his playing field but I still do hope they do it, but for this fight it is pretty obvious that Tyson will win this but  it is still an interesting fight to behold for sure,

Amazing! I never expected an MMA fighter could do amazingly against a boxer in a boxing match, but well here is the result of my bet it

Tyson Fury VS Francis N'Gannou ROUND 10 DECISION - LOST

Just like I have said it was an amazing match Francis Ngannou just rocked the hell out of Tyson Fury, and Fury didn't expect that for sure I thought that Francis Ngannou would win this one, and when Ngannou knocked out Tyson Fury I really thought that it was a win for Ngannou for sure I really thought that Francis Ngannou will be announcing the winner on this boxing match, for me Francis Ngannou got a great defense and even landing body shots on Tyson Fury in this match and for sure Ngannou is just taking the big shots of Fury like a champ and he even outsmart Tyson Fury on one occasion, for me the biased judges got it wrong I think that only 1 judge has it correct and give the fight to Francis Ngannou it was really a close match, for me this is a clear indicator that MMA fighter can surely cross into Boxing and have successful results and MMA fighters often doing this for a huge pay but we really don't see boxer crossing into MMA and for sure that would be a terrible decision for them, and

I am really proud of what Francis Ngannou has done here, and I want Ngannou to box again or maybe a rematch against Tyson Fury, or maybe a fight against Anthony Joshua, or even Deontay Wilder, I think he can beat this guy,

Oh yeah, thanks referee for stopping the fight.

Eduardo Hernandez sure has a tough chin and he may have won that title if he survived that last round. But the referee doesn't see him fighting back and he is so dazed that the referee made a decision to stop it.
Plus, there are also the 2 knockdowns that may have affected the decision of the referee.
The strategy of Oshaquie Foster's camp did work. That's to exhaust Hernandez first. Round 8 and Round 9 are where he showed that is tired. That's when the champion took advantage of the opportunity.

Round 11 is a must-watch guys. The real champions round. They exchange fists and still stand, definitely a nail-biting round.
They should rematch, it's too good of a fight and I bet the fans will love to see one more of that kind of show. Grin

It could be round of the year, as both fighters really slug it out. And from what I read, the corner of Foster says to him that he is behind the score card. And that was really the case after 6 rounds. And maybe it really awaken Foster to really do his best in the championship rounds and then stop him in the 12 round.

It was really war, and we all know that Mexicans are warriors and will not simply back down from the challenge. I'll take a pass on this one, but if I'm going to bet, I will go with the Mexican as this is his territory and motivated to show his fans what he got and this is his first time to fight for the belt. And we can see on the face off that he is really pump up. But in any case, I would have lost my money on Hernandez here.

So congrats on you winnings.

Hehehe, I told you guys this is going to be a war. Yeah, round 11 is a candidate for the round of the year. I thought that Hernandez is done with that round and will go down as he kept on looking at his corner and just begging him to continue to fight.

And then Foster go to work, but it also took Hernandez one shot to make a comeback on that round and then he almost knockdown Foster. And then it started a back in forth on that corner until the bell ended.

But in the final round, Hernandez was too tired and it was evident. If he could muster and train hard for his gas and stamina he could have put a upset win him. He shows that weaknesses in the middle round and yes, Foster took advantage of it in the second half and rally and retain his belt.

Yeah, he will probably think about this loss for the rest of his life. He is 45 seconds away from claiming the title but his defense is gone in that final round and he ain't punching back and I think the referee saw that clearly. He cannot blame the referee for stopping it because he might be injured more if Foster keeps on bashing his head into the corner.
He badly needs to strengthen his stamina or he should try to end the fight in a faster way. I already accepted my loss unless a KO or TKO will happen and I was surprised it did. Because if the referee didn't stop that, Hernandez would just keep on getting up and win in a unanimous decision. It's too obvious, he got more points in the first 7 rounds of the fight and Foster may have only won in the last 4 rounds where he knocked him down. His corner knows it, and Hernandez's corner knows it too. All they need is Hernandez to survive it but the exhaustion showed too obvious and Foster took advantage of that.
That will probably be one of the best fights that I saw this year and I was literally biting my nail.

We did have a fight this weekends with Cordina vs Edward Vazquez. I wouldn't say it's a good fight but Cordina is the huge favorite here and I thought that he is going to knockout Vazquez. However, the fight lasted the full 12 rounds and won on a majority decision and retained his IBF super featherweight.

This is Cordina's second reign as he was stripped in 2022 because he had a injury and can't defend his belt.

And this is good because next we will see Navarette fighting Conceição in the undercard of Stevenson vs Delos Santos. Most likely the winner could face Cordina for the unification fight and it could be very exciting.
