Not the kind of Teo that we use to see, he was having fun. Is Taylor just too slow or Teo had really improved well?  Either way, its very stunning and boxing fans could by now will see Teo not just a kid who had some luck over Loma. Still Taylor fans couldn't believe it. It could just be because Taylor was too flushed to to get the weight at 140.

If Teo was much faster and relied to volume while Taylor seem to have gassed out, he could have KO Taylor to be more impressive.

I think that Taylor is not comfortable facing Lopez.  We can see how awkward he moves during the fight.  Aside from that, it looks like Taylor slows down compared to his previous fight.  He is just too slow to react and adjust.  I think Lopez had studied Taylor very well making Taylor looks like a sitting duck since Lopez know how Taylor will move and Lopez is able to stop Taylor of his body shots and hooks.

Both fighters are surely studying how their opponents move, but it's evident that Lopez was the better fighter in that match, deserving credit for the big win. Just imagine, the challenger won the fight via unanimous decision, indicating his dominant performance over the champion. It is often difficult to achieve such clear victories in fights that end with the judges' decisions.

No one watches Floyd exhibition matches specially for boxing fans here. I mean we wanted the real deal, not this kind of fights. And now that he fights John Gotti an then turn it into circus, as in basketball, both benches are empty and went against each other.

Probably yeah, as both continue to talk even even the ring. And I do agree that it's a disgrace to boxing inside, we don't want to see this kind of attack with their supporters or body guards. But then again, this is not a professional fight so what do you expect? As least for the majority of boxers, they trash talk but at the end of the fight they hug and shows respect whoever wins.

Well, if there are sponsors and there is a fight, to begin with, there are still some people who want to witness those fights, but yeah boxing fans here surely want a real deal but the Fiasco will surely make it public and into the news and it surely spread like wildfire, for this isn't this real deal enough, for me exhibition fights are just like boxing with some added rules in there, but it surely looks real enough, but yeah no wants really taking exhibition match more seriously,

Lol! Same here. There are a lot of events every weekend and also some interesting stuff to do that even non-title fights in boxing are not my priority anymore so there's a small chance that I'll be watching fake or scripted or not exhibition games. I did see some of the highlights as it will also show up on my social media feeds.

Floyd Mayweather fought in a nearly empty arena in the UK prior to this fight so they need drama. I just read that Gotti is now suspended for 6 months which is actually nonsense. 2 months of rest, 1 month of negotiation for a rematch, and then 2+ months of training and that's it. That's fewer months than many UFC fighters are waiting on standby to be given a fight. Cheesy

Yup! What he's done attacking Mayweather even though the fight is over have surely made him suspended from some boxing matches, for 6 months but for sure 6 months is just a little time or it is just like taking a rest for him, that is why he was really pissed off that he taken the fight to a brawl, this could surely goes public and Mayweather just wants a highlight in his fight and so he has gotten the highlight he wants,

Anyone who watched or risked their fight if they understood and did some research would definitely be backing Lopez for a win.
He is a tough and great fighter so there is no doubt that every fight can easily finish perfectly accompanied by victory.
Even though he is a challenging fighter, anyone cannot underestimate him and must prepare everything so that he is not humiliated in the octagon.

Both surely do that, it's just the executions that matters, we seen that Lopez really outshine the current champ and impress
the judges to win the fight.

It's not an easy task but due to determination a fighter can really exceed from his capabilities, his performance shows that he is really
into a mission to win the fight and take the belt from Taylor, now he got 2 titles from two different fighters division an accomplishment that
a fighter always desires to achieved.

People will no longer doubt his success against Loma, as Teo has proven his ability to defeat champions once again by defeating Taylor, who is still in his prime in my opinion. I admire Teo's confidence every time he fights, but what I don't appreciate about him is his behavior as a sore loser when he faces defeat. He tends to make numerous excuses for his losses. However, with his big win against Taylor, he has dispelled those doubts and solidified his position as a dangerous fighter.

For us though, it's seems to be a very dominating fight for Lopez. But if you look at the judges, they try to screw them up as 2 judges saw it a very close fight. Just imagine if Taylor rally and score the last 2 rounds, it might be even tie score for them and we might not hear Lopez winning.

So that will be controversial though, the good thing is that Lopez won. But still a lot of questions in the judges scoring here. As for studying their opponents, I've read that this is the first time that Lopez really watch video tapes of his opponents as preparation and it surely paid dividends for him.

Yes, that indeed took away the doubts surrounding Lopez because defeating someone like Josh Taylor, that is still in his prime, yes, is truly a feat that not everybody can do and achieve, yet he did it. Anyway, I'm curious though what's the take away because few days before the fight night, Teo's father is already confident that his son will win and that if his son will be defeated, the fight was rigged. I mean, there should be some signs you know.

Ok there is a rumor circulating around that Canelo's next fight won't be Bivol and not against Benavidez as well.

Again, this is just a rumor, it is said that it will be Canelo va Jermall Charlo. Jermall last fight though is 2019, so not sure why Canelo and his camp are picking a inactive fighter and not even a true 168 super middle weight boxer.

Sure Jermall is a middle champion, but he will have to go up in weight and fight Canelo at his best weight.

And it seems that Canelo is really cherry picking his fight now or someone in his team did. So let's see if this fight is going to be developed and will actually going to happen late this year. This fight though might hit Canelo's legacy as he duck Benavidez and then his rematch with Bivol.

Any father will support their kid no matter what, some father will even cheat for their kid to win but thats not I think what happens. Teo won thats a fact but they can't discount the fact that Taylor had to lose weight to fight him. Taylor being dehydrated gives Teo the spead advantage to win the fight against an already beaten up fighter while it lasted 12 rounds with 3 US judges. It may look good in the record but is UD, they will have rematch I guess on fairer weight class.

I don't think it was rigged though, if you have followed Lopez sr, full of confident before the time. It's just that in this fight though, it seems that Lopez sr really see how the fight will turn out as he say that they are going to outbox Josh Taylor and that's what exactly happen here. And we thought that Lopez sr is just joking because Teo is a brawler and love to fight in the side. But it was a different version of Teo. I do agree that Josh might suffered from the weight, as it is clearly that he doesn't have the legs at 140 lbs already.

Josh Taylor admitted after the fight that he has problems making the weight cut and he says that he might jump to 147 lbs. But I don't think there will be rematch though, maybe there is no rematch clause afterall and again, Josh might move up.

As for Teo father's comment, he is always very confident of his sons ability, even after they lost to George Kambosos, they think that they still won the fight but was robbed by the judges. That's how confident he is that before the actual fight they will say that they are going to knockout this guy blah blah.

Most likely Canelo and his team picks the easiest fight for him. I know tht Charlo has been calling Canelo for years now, but I think he is small to be a SMW and fight the best SMW right now in Canelo.

Although we might have been seeing Canelo slipping already, with a lost against Bivol that he supposedly to rematch but the negotiations feel off because they are offering the same money as before which I think is not fair to Bivol. And then we have the new Mexican monster at SMW wherein Canelo's excuse is that he doesn't want to fight another Mexican, which is obviously, trying to avoid David at all cost.

Hell yeah. Teo finally got another win under his belt. Good for him! Defeating Taylor is no small achievement, thats for sure. But heres the thing - a single win doesnt erase a pattern of poor behavior. Remember how he used to throw a tantrum every time he lost? Its almost as if he believed the world was conspiring against him.

Whats even more hilarious is his dad' claim before the fight. If Teo lost, it would be because the fight was rigged? I mean, come on. Who does he think hes fooling? Anyway, I hope this win serves as a reality check for Teo. Winning or losing is part of the game. Learning to accept both with grace? Now, thats the mark of a true champion.

Whether it is rigged or not, only Taylor knows because he is the one who does not deliver.  He is underperformed since Taylor didin't managed to show his supposed to be caliber.  It is either Lopez had outsmarted him or Taylor did not think that Lopez will improve that much prior to Lopez last fight.

I also think that the fight isn't rigged and the judges of that fight fairly do their jobs.

Surprisingly I read that Teofimo Lopez is about to vacant his recent won title.[1]

So far, there are two things that might explain why Canelo picked Jermall Charlo instead of picking some bad boy in the same division as him or at least active.

1. They chose Charlo to keep Canelo warmed up until they can establish a negotiating position with Bivol because as of now, Bivol shows no interest in Canelo because of the terms being given to them even after upsetting Canelo in their first clash.

2. Canelo's career is in sundown already and what they are doing right now is just taking advantage of Canelo's fame while he can still sell a fight while picking a much safer boxer that will match the equation. I mean, that fight with John Ryder might be a tune-up but that also revealed Canelo's current situation and most probably revealed the likelihood if he will fight heavy named boxers.

Lol!

As Mayweather's manager Leonard Ellerbe said, they are learning a lot from their previous events as to how to successfully stage their next events. Most likely referring to their almost empty event in the UK so they brought the drama on Floyd's event in the US against Gotti.

I wonder if Mayweather's exhibitions are not generating huge money because no big networks are buying his events unlike Jake Paul and KSI whose events are usually under DAZN and Showtime. Not to consider Mayweather's a former Showtime fighter and his current Mayweather Promotions is a dummy of PBC, a partner of Showtime. Or it could be that the networks do not want his events because he takes almost all of the profit which is too risky if in case an event fails to generate income.

Ok there is a rumor circulating around that Canelo's next fight won't be Bivol and not against Benavidez as well.

This is weird. Because what I am hearing is that Canelo is 90% close to making a deal against WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack. Not an easy fight for Canelo despite Jack at 39 years old. But should Canelo lose again, he remains undisputed at 168 while he's got the chance to become a 5-division world champion if he beats Jack.

Anyways, should the rumor of Jermall-Canelo is the one to be made, I wonder if the WBC elevates Benavidez as its champion since he is the interim champ and even fought for an unnecessary eliminator.

And this is actually the dream fight Jermall is wishing for years already. He's been avoiding the real fights, including his supposed mandatory against Mungia (WBC got paid or scared to force the mandatory?), and would rather stay inactive to preserve his virgin record for the Canelo lottery.

Needless to say, what we have here are just a mere speculations of what might be Canelo Alvarez's future move because it sure looks like he got a lot of option right now. But seriously though, CW might be too much for him because it was already clear that he is having a hard time fighting against a natural LHW. What more if it's a CW champion, I can't just imagine what will happen

I'll just put it here, since the Taylor vs Lopez thread might be close.

So Teo mentioned that he will come back and fight if he is being offered by the network itself, and not with the promoter.

Quote
“The only way I come, like I said, is [for a] multi[-bout] nine-figure deal, but it has to be—see, people misunderstand what I mean—it’s not just a good fight,” Lopez told Boxing Social. “I’m looking at three to five years or like a six, eight-fight deal, with a network—not with a promoter or anything—but just directly with a network because I am my own promotion.

https://www.boxingscene.com/teofimo-lopez-only-way-i-come-back-multi-fight-deal-directly-with-network-not-promoter--175437

Maybe similar to what Canelo did with DAZN, minimum of $300 million ++ in 5 years or 11 fights.

Very clever of Teo, but we will see if there is a network that is willing to give him huge contract, maybe not as big as Canelo, but a contract that he will be satisfied.

Or should Teo joins Skills Challenge Promotions? - A Saudi Based boxing promotion? for sure they can offer him big money as they have just signed Usyk and it is reported that Wilder and Devin Haney will be next.

https://proboxtv.com/news/Wilder-joins-Skill-Challenge-Promotions-and-Haney-is-set-to-follow/en

Quote
Deontay Wilder has agreed promotional terms with Skill Challenge Promotions and Devin Haney is on the verge of joining him, ProBox TV can reveal.

The heavyweight, 37, remains in negotiations to fight Anthony Joshua in December, and will join Badou Jack, Ziyad Almaayouf and most recently Oleksandr Usyk among the mysterious-and-ambitious organisation’s stable.

His arrival is expected to be formally announced next week, by when Devin Haney, the undisputed lightweight champion, may also have agreed to join SCP. Wilder had long been with Al Haymon and Premier Boxing Champions; there had been speculation about his future at the start of the year when he spoke of being an “open agent; open fighter”.

Yes, that's why it is called rumour though, but as boxing fans, we want to speculate as what will be the next move of their team.

We wanted a Bivol or Benavidez fight, seems not going to happen. Bivol says that the offer is not as good as what they have expected giving the fact that they beat Canelo. And then with the Benavidez fight, it seems that Canelo is not interested.

And so the rumour that recently came out, Charlo the champion at 160 lbs is their next target. So we will see if this is what Canelo's camp wanted and what they are going to accomplished if they chooses a small fighter who is not that active.

Both scenario is possible, I like the second option though, yes, admit it or not, after his final fight with GGG, it seems all the energy was zap up from Canelo plus the injury that he suffered. Then we have the wear and tear, which is the usual culprit for a boxer to suddenly feel old and no longer in his prime.

So if Reynoso see that Canelo is on the way out or his career is on the sundown, then they pick a easy way with Jermall Charlo, a good fighter, known in the US is a champion as well. In paper it looks good, but Canelo has all the advantage here and they can see if Canelo still can pull the trigger or really on the decline already.
