No one is saying its not a good idea to come into the forums and tell your story, both good or bad.
Just use a little common sense, tact & maturity when doing so.

This is a very good point. The flipside however for some posters here - including myself - is that the forum gets involved only when all the tactful and mature options are exhausted, support tickets, phone calls, e-mails, PMs, waiting and hoping, etc. GAW sadly is the kind of company that does not proactively seek to do the right thing, only when called out and even then tries to smear its own customers. Seriously, Amber, "We do not give out fake tracking numbers". Nice job of publicly accusing your customer of lying while pretending to offer help. GAW has given out fake tracking numbers, has even accused shipping carriers of mass mishandling of packages. But hey, it's buried somewhere deep in the threads, so let's rewrite history.

Remove my long winded post yesterday. Here it is.

They are overly protective because they are not in the hotpot like us. Let's stand together and show this bunch of small community their over protection is the cause of this big issue. Do it like how consumer put a civil lawsuit on KnC.

We cant let this small community shut us down.

Firstly: They fail to deliver within promise
Secondly: They are creating a illusion of 100% good asic reseller
Thirdly: A overly protective community to create a big mirage for everyone to see.

That's my personal point of view. If they think they can shut us down with friends helping around, we are going to get stronger. So let us stand together and submit something to the authority. I have had enough of this company.

Keep it short. If you think you are unhappy and feel unfair, Stand together and do something and send in complains towards the relevant authority. They only see us as capable of complaining online. Let's show them. Put a civil complain on them!!

And ya, Don't Bother going to that hashtalk. You will just waste your time. Every negative feedback will be shutdown. Even their so call moderators are friends of the owner, if you try something funny, they will shut you down too.

So here is how my situation ended As follows:

I am very sorry for this entire situation and any inconveniences this has caused. All return labels should have been sent out to each customer experiencing this issue. I apologize yours was missed!

Unfortunately due to our return policy which does state all sales are final, we still have to follow it even with this case. However, I have spoken to our head of shipping and we are able to overnight you a Falcon first thing tomorrow if you'd like! Please let me know how you would like to proceed. Thank you so much for your patience! smile

Very uncool,, First it has taken 3 weeks to resolve this, with not a single hash in that time.
Second, I had to ship the miner back myself out of my pocket, now im out even more money.
Third, Its too late for the Falcon, it takes too much electricity, scrypt markets have dropped even further and by now a Falcon is pretty much worthless,, had i actually been hashing with it the past 3 weeks I wouldn't be as upset over this,
But again I haven't done anything with it because it doesn't work,,,
If I cant get a full refund then i would settle for store credit on my account immediately for the amount of $849 which is what I paid for the Falcon a month ago that has never worked and took 3 weeks to get a resolution that only happened because Ive talked with you and because I spent the cash to ship it back,,, and now someone at Gaw is telling me all sales are final and that im just screwed? Seriously? Please Full Refund or store credit,, The falcon is of no use to me.

I am sincerely sorry for the mix up. I apologize, all sales are final. I misunderstood the situation and that is not your fault, it is mine.

We can send out a new falcon with the correct cables so that you will have a working machine. I can also offer to set you up for 3 weeks of free hosting through ZenCloud to help make up for the time lost. Amanda, our customer service manager will also give you store credit for your shipping costs.

Sincerely,
Amber

I have not read about a SINGLE problem that Amber from GAW miners has helped customers with that was not resolved.
Her batting average is literally 100%.

What people have to remember with Asic companies is that there are a lot of moving parts. You have International chip production, logistics, new technology in a new business market which consist of brand new companies with understaffed facilities etc.

Of course many of the problems people have had with multiple Asic companies are legit.
But instead of posting complete BS about lawyers and class action lawsuits etc, accept the hand of employees like Amber who can, and will actually help rectify the issues.

I have made multiple orders with GAW, and have had both delays in shipping and lightning fast service.

No one is saying its not a good idea to come into the forums and tell your story, both good or bad.
Just use a little common sense, tact & maturity when doing so.

You are 100% right. The problem with people is that they tend to get angry and lose objectivity.
When you read this forum don't forget that angry people write ten times more than happy ones.

all sales are final

When did you purchase it? GAW changed their return policy around July 20th I think. You mentioned three weeks, it's possible that when you bought it the 14-day return policy was still in place.

Edit: This thing is more messed up than I thought.

Not sure what to make of it. Perhaps you should move to Canada and return it from there.

Thought i might add my gaw miner experience. I was super happy with their pre sales service, to be quiet honest they were awesome, helpful and responded quick to inquires and the release date got pushed back so they offered a refund. I got my miner in 3 days so cant fault them there.

Now here is where the problem starts. The unit broke after 23 days. I sent it back for RMA.......... it was received by gawminers on the 7th of july. it is currently the 9th of august and still no miner. Needless to say any chance of seeing an ROI went out the fucking window. After a few weeks of it not being back i sent an email requesting an update... I was told it was faulty and a replacement was sent out. 2 weeks go by and still no miner. I send emails requesting an update.... no reply.....

Live play by play:

Now after hitting up 2 cs reps i find out its been sitting there UNSHIPPED this whole time. I restrained myself from blowing my fucking top right there and then. I suggest since this fuckup has cost me any chance of ROI i get a refund......

I got offered 3x black widows on their hosted service for a yet unstated period of time to make up for it! So basically 39mhs to make up for over a month of my machine sitting in thier docks..... Havent quiet done the math on this but i THINK that 39 mhs these days is equiv to about 3/5ths of fuck all.

Off to talk to a supervisor! lets see what this brings.

Talking to a supervisor and again asked for a refund, they are asking their superiors.

Oh joy, ive been offered some shitty hosted solution and a promise that a falcon will be sent out right away! Incidentally i  was told almost 2 weeks ago that it was on its way.....

The tldr version....

STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. On a side note i did sign up to their affiliate program but now i wouldnt want to help them sell anything with there shitty customer service, total incompetence and there complete lack of stepping up to fix their fuckups

Update:

Been offered a little more hash and some store credit...... Since there is a better chance of a paper dog catching an asbestos cat running through hell then getting my money back ill just bend over and take it right up the ass... at least ill have something to show for the nearl 4k i dropped on the empty spot in my room where a miner should be

I got my bank to reverse credit card charges...
And the Bank Fraud Officer actually took a LOT of interest...
In the KITING RACKET that is at the core of GAW's Business Plan.

KITING is extremely illegal and usually involves jail time...
Taking $1,000,000 from Customers...
Not shipping, running the machines 24/7, using the money for unrelated things, finally shipping used machines...
Is not poor service... it's the kind of FRAUD that results in a police raid.

That's why Bitcoin will never be mainstream...
And why I would never make a purchase using Bitcoin, sorry but that's the world we live in.

So I got the Falcon that Gaw overnighted me,, since they refused to give a refund or even store credit I figured I was over it and that ive wasted enough of my time on it already.
I recieved the Falcon today,,,,
and guess what,,,

Its USED,, complete with dust and scratches and everything,, at least this one probably works,,,,

So in short,,, I paid $849.00 over a month ago to recieve a machine that didnt work and then took 3 weeks to RMA,,

And then they send me a USED machine as a replacement.

Gawminers Sucks. Plain and simple DO not buy from them,, you have been warned.

Is this thread GAW's negative feedback? Looks like people come here only to complain, so I'll do the opposite.

Despite the things I read here my thoughts of GAW remain positive. I had no issues with them and they seem very nice and helpful on hashtalk.org
All my questions were answered there and I didn't have to wait a week or two like you guys.
What I noticed is that there's almost no moderation here, so I have to stumble upon curses and threats, great way to convey your message and show how cultured and articulate you are.

Any kind of feedback is welcome. As for moderation, this thread is not self-moderated, if that's what you're referring to. Anything goes unless global forum mods decide that enough is enough. It gets rough sometimes but unfortunately the only alternative was GAW's original thread here that was so heavily moderated that it was useless for feedback.

At least you have yours' in hand. Mine has been bouncing all over sort facilities for the last 7 days. When I paid for fedex shipping, it some how ended up in usps ground service. Just the confusion about arrival dates and "overall" confusion throughout the process has been trying.

I really hate to be that disgruntled person, i'm really trying not to come across and bashing GAW. But this process has been a real pain in the ass. I am sure it causes brian un needed work hours spent on support when proper communication and practice at the front end would just solve most issues.

Week 7 turns into week 10/12 by the time I get the thing and by then your selling them half of what I paid and difficulty has doubled in the mean time.

I have "in hand" products i ordered after the GAW one. It is just frustrating, we aren't playing video games here. Most of us take this seriously, so we expect it in return.

Sorry to be "that guy" but my order hasn't been smooth so far. As a first time customer.

I would never deal with GAW ever again.

They have a FRAUD system in place to delay your shipment for a month or more...
While they use your money and run your miner...
And the people on the phone systematically lie to you about your miner.

(1)  After you wait for 2 weeks they LIE... and tell you "miner will be drop shipped from China".

(2)  More time goes by and they start opening FAKE FEDEX TRACKING NUMBERS...
They send Fedex all the shipping information... but DO NOT ACTUALLY SHIP A MINER.

(3)  So they send you a real Tracking Number (without a miner being shipped)..
And you end up calling Fedex who are confused about the whole thing.

(4) When you can GAW they say, "Hmmm... we've never seen this before".

(5) They will even tell you the miner is in stock... but won't ship it.

This is straight-up premeditated FRAUD in Connecticut...
They are defrauding the Customer, the bank, and Fedex...
They are selling heavily used miners as new (and practically admitting this it by offering "rebates")...
The tools lying on the phone would sing like canaries...
A Class Action suit would probably bankrupt them... and send the CEO to jail.

Lawyers just love shit like this.

I basically got the same run around.  They create the waybill and send that information over to FedEx so FedEx creates a tracking number and hands that over to them.  From there they sit on it for a week or so before they actually send the package over to FedEx for delivery. For my order it was a little over a week before they actually sent a box over to FedEx.  They certainly can not blame the delay on FedEx for taking so long for the tracking to show up.  FedEx and UPS are incredibly efficient and can pretty much knows where the package is the minute they receive the package.  For GAW to use this electronic waybill creation to try to fool us that the package was shipped really insults our intelligence.  I opened tickets as well only to have them ignored for a week and then when they did answer the ticket they just asked me was it for this order # or that order # (I had 2 pre-orders open) when all that information was in the ticket already.  So once again another stall tactic.  When it finally did ship they closed the ticket and when I asked for compensation for the delay as they advertised I was told that somebody else would contact me.  Of course never heard from anybody again and when I tried to reopen the ticket I was denied.  In the end it wasn't worth the hassle or trying to argue with them since thankfully it was just a small order.  I'm sure they bank on people giving up as well to increase their bottom line.  Sure it works short term, but in the long run it will catch up to them.

A class action suit sounds a little extreme though.  I'm hoping that it's more growing pains than flat out fraud.  The only people that make out during a class action law suit are the lawyers.

Hello,

I have sent you a private message. I would like to talk to you and understand your situation.

You can also find me on hashtalk.org and amber@gawminers.com

Sincerely,
Amber

On another matter... GAW wants customers to keep bitcoins stored with GAW for rewards in the form of Zenpoints. When I asked what the bitcoins would be used for and how they would be secured, the thread was closed by the owner.  Here are the questions (where gaw can't conveniently close the thread to avoid answering them):

From hashtalk thread 4490:
A few questions though on the security of our coins.... Are any bitcoins used for this purpose (accruing rewards) secured in offline wallets while being held at GAW? Other than 2FA, what other methods are used to secure bitcoins from thefts? Will any audits or other transparency take place to ensure customers bitcoins aren't simply a reflection and not a true deposit (such as what happened with Mt. Gox)? Are any customer deposits used for any purpose other than to encourage customers to purchase products or services? If so, what are the bitcoins used for?

Thanks.

RUN, DON'T WALK!

Wow, you've documented EXACTLY what's going on with me since August 1. I ordered 3 Falcons at 3:50 pm EST and paid $214 for Priority Shipping, expecting them to go out that evening or at latest the following Monday. Nope. It's been a web of lies and bullshot ever since.

I attempted to find out what was going on by calling Fedex directly each time, and each time Fedex was able to tell me when I called and what about, and had no records of a pick-up or drop-off from GAW. No records on them contacting Fedex either, though GAW support's "shipping manager" claimed to have long involved discussions with them, saying that Fedex was trying to contact me for Customs duty payment. But Fedex told me that because they didn't have the parcels and Customs was unable to inspect them, they didn't need any payment from me.

Fedex confirmed that they just sent the shipping documentation for pre-processing and no parcel scans indicated that nothing followed the paperwork.

I used the GAW Support area but they stopped replying. I tried their 866 number but it's disconnected. I finally used Chat and asked what was going on - George Colon claimed to go talk to the shipping manager to resolve the situation. Then nothing. When I tried to use Chat again, I was told they could do nothing more for me.

The lies have continued. I contacted Amber who told me she'd followup. She did, saying she'd talk to the shipping manager. And then the line went dead again, and then more fiction about him having called Fedex. She's also stopped replying.

I've been reasonable and polite, and have finally resorted to demanding immediate shipment of my miners, refund of my Priority Shipping fees, and reimbursement as per their guarantee for the lost mining time.

Today I got an email saying my miners have shipped. I see they've opened a new Fedex request, this time with pick-up requests for 3 boxes. At the present moment (12:10 PM PST) Fedex does not show anything more than receiving the shipping paperwork and pickup request, so I'm highly skeptical that anything will arrive tomorrow.

This is fraud. Their same-day shipping guarantee is not a guarantee at all. At least I paid by credit card so if the miners don't show up tomorrow there will be a charge-back and complaint lodged.

On the ZenMiners side - I also have a miner hosted. I've asked what the process is to get it shipped. So far, a week later, no response from ZenMiners support.

How much do you want to bet that ZenMiners/GAW is skimming off the top of your mining, as they don't allow you to enter your own BTC address for the pool?

How much to you want to bet that getting possession of your paid-for miner will be even more arduous than getting a non-hosted miner shipped?

How much do you want to be that they will keep charging you for hosting fees long after you've demanded your hosted miner is shipped to you? And that it will take weeks/months to receive the unit, if in fact you do?

As I said before, RUN, DON'T WALK.

GAWMiners is running a very profitable FRAUD.

Avoid this scam company at all costs.

I would rate my experience with them as being worst than the one I had with BFL.

Keep your Bitcoin / monies,  do not donate them to these under performing clueless idiots.

Your story sounds worse than mine!  Sorry to hear about all your problems.  I'm also worried about my zen hosted miner and the lack of transparency on there.  Skimming would be so easy for them.  I'd like to have mine shipped out to me as soon as the free hosting is up, but I totally fear the run around and I still haven't heard from anybody how the process works.  Do we open a ticket with GAW or do we open a ticket with zen?  I'm also worried that this would be a huge target for hackers.  There's just so many possible things that can go wrong.  Please make sure you enable the two factor authentication on there.  I don't have much on there, but can you imagine somebody with a ton of products hosted there.  If your email address that you use with zen gets hacked they can just simply send a forgotten password request.  From there they transfer all your bitcoins to their wallet and on top of that they can open a ticket to have all your miners sent to them.  Also the whole activation process gets me a little nervous too.  I just got an email with a code to activate my miner.  Sure it was a long code, but what if some lucky bastard guessed the code or just kept trying random codes with a script and it activated a newly purchased miner from somebody else on their account.

Has anybody out there requested their miner to be shipped to them?  Could anybody please enlighten me to the process and how long it takes?

I haven't but it was said somewhere on hashtalk (I think) that it may take up to two weeks. What's unclear to me is if the miner continues to mine until the moment it is actually shipped, or if they take if off as soon as you request it. If you're concerned about it I'd suggest to ask about it by filing a ticket with Zen first, they are or at least used to be more responsive than GAW.

Yeah that wasted time sitting in a box or on somebody's desk for a week would be hard to swallow.
