Just as my favorite team is out of the tournament because Japan won against Spain, same with my fate in this competition is over  . Congratulations to KTCham and Ralle14 for advancing to the next round from group F.

It's quite interesting that at such a fairly long distance (by the number of points) there are groups where the situation is not clear until the very last outcome and tiebreaks may be needed.

Oh man Uruguay didn't think for a second that they need one more goal for safety and Korea punished them by scoring lately a winning and qualify goal against Portugal , a team who had no desire what so ever to win against South Korea. With this qualification , it's the 3rd time in South Korea history when they qualify for outside of groups stage in World Cup so I'm curious where this run will end as we all know the infamous run of 2002 against Italy and Spain

An hour or so after the last game today. We have to wait for all the games to finish, it will be easier in the next knockout rounds because there will be a few days break in between.

For this round you won't have much time to answer so maybe place your reminders a few hours before the first knockout games.

Really hard today, one good team its going home, lets see if Belgium or Croatia, this Belgium doesnt seems in well shape compared with another years, Morocco has the qualy in their hands, and also high chance of be the first of the group.

Before the start of the championship, De Bruyne's words that they are too old and he sees the Belgian national team rather as outsiders were perceived as something strange, but now they look quite adequate. Given the fact that they have grievances against each other and some players do not talk to each other, I don’t know if they will be able to unite and play successfully today. It seems to me that Croatia will not lose at least.

They had already given up before the first game; there was no longer any team spirit because everyone was thinking, oh this guy is old, will he be able to catch a long pass? If you looked closely, you'd notice that KDB was only picking players at close range and was mostly spamming crosses into the box. The team spirit had long since vanished; look for retirement letters in the coming days.

So, a bit of an overview before the last games:

I can't see my name, so I guess it's over after MD2. My selections for MD3 were a complete mess, so I saw this coming. Congratulations to the qualified teams!

Does anyone knows how and when can we see points and standings for Fifa website competition?
I got my Fifa brackets for Group G, A, B, C 100% correct, but sadly I don't think I did that great for all other groups.
Other things I got correct is Netherlands vs USA, France vs Poland, England vs Senegal, Argentina, France, Spain and Croatia to go Quarter-finals, and maybe few more.

We also have the knockout questions ready!

The second question in the form seemed to be slightly wrongly worded (or intertwined between the question and the answer options) and could be misinterpreted, I think I have the correct interpretation from the question itself, but the options in the answers could also all happen except the last one, I think the answers should be stated as the first goal to be conceded rather than if they'll concede within a specific interval or not, as they could concede goals in all the intervals of the first 3 options.

The question is for how long will they be able to keep a clean sheet. A clean sheet is a standard term in which a team does not concede.

Basically, the question is at which point will Australia concede their 1st goal - or during which time interval will France score for the 1st time.

I'm very happy that I managed to through group stage, it wasn't easy at all. I got @Harkorede in 1/8 final, he is obviously not that opponent that I preferred to get in this stage already. Anyway, my minimal goal to get out of group is already reached.
I went through questions and I see it's getting more difficult. Probably it's not best idea to submit it now after taking a few beers . I'll do it tomorrow before games with fresh head.

I agree that it's not easy to organize this kind of competition where you have to give out questions immediately after the last game. Both of you are doing an amazing job and I really hope that you will continue organizing this kind of competitions in the future. The questions for this round are pretty tough but that's the way it should be. The error in the question does not impact the result so it's all OK

We did not count them at all - we just said 6 can progress

The question says '6 European teams can progress to the quarterfinals. How many will get there?' - so I don't feel that it's worded incorrectly.

Well done for winning our group Harkorede! I am just thankful for going through, the second and third round of quiz I had to enter in a rush because I didn't even have anything to research on but honestly I think I might have made wrong choices if I researched, definitely not to pick some picks like Germany which actually was right.

I went risky in my selections, e.g. Ansu Fati never started for Spain, I also think England I believe no one expects all three to have shots on target but I went for that.

It was exactly as I understood, and I think that option is the riskiest, we all saw upsets but I have a feeling this is not going to be the stage for as many upsets.

Great format, so good job to Trofo and cryptofrka. I think this is a wonderful template.

I think majority of us like this BUT if I can come up with one criticism, I would probably say the format could be too difficult (not the right word I want to use but in malay it is "leceh") for a lot of users to make the effort correctly. My comment here is about the language issue, even for me English was something I improved over past 5 years.

For example even the first question, maybe we can try to write as "who will be play as a sub" so it is clearer than "will enter the game from the bench for Netherlands." is slightly unclear.

I really really like this format, but maybe in future if we want a big different group of users, it might not be suitable for everyone. I believe this is why users like dittoup didn't play properly although he never explained however so I just guess at the reason.

Unless the format is purposely meant to be tricky (but for many of us English is already tricky lol).

English is obviously not our first language as well but I really don't see how anybody who understands English and watches football on regular basis can have a problem with sentence like "will enter the game from the bench for Netherlands."

On the other hand your proposed version "who will be play as a sub" has a problem with tenses and would probably bother English speaking people. "who will come on as a sub" can work, but I would guess that google translate would have some problems with word "sub".

I get your point and we will try to be as clear as possible in the future. We actually tried to give a bit of story and context to the questions to make it more interesting but that part isn't that important to the question itself. Both of us have a solid English knowledge and we are reading trough each other questions and making small corrections to make it even more clear.

In the end this competition was intended to be "elite", meaning limited spots and advantage to get them to Bitcointalk users and Sportsbet users, we can freely add to that that knowing English is one of required skills as well. That is life and I would urge anybody that had problem with language to work on their English, it is the language you need to know to get best opportunities in life.

I think that all questions are properly asked, and could be answered without a doubt

what bothers me is the deadline and first question? not sure how many answers did you get so far, but deadline is before match starts, and line-ups will be announced hour earlier, which would give main advantage to people the wait for deadline?
is this an omission, or you gave advantage to users that know fact about line-ups announced hour earlier, which should be fair, since knowledge is obviously power
