Barcelona can never be the favorite for the Champions League with the current situation they have in this team. Barcelona lost many points in La Liga and they lost the games they could easily win, on the other hand there many injured players in this team and that's why Barcelona is not in good form.

Can you imagine a team losing two simple competition in the same month to grab Champions League title from teams like Manchester City or the others!
Barcelona lost Supercopa de Espana earlier this month against Real Madrid by three goals difference then lost against Athletic Bilbao by two goals difference in Copa del Rey. They are way away from their normal performance and barely keeping up good results in La Liga. They are lucky to face a fluctuating team like Napoli in the next round, otherwise you can imagine them being kicked along with Xavi, but it would be really sad if Napoli is the one kicking them from UEFA Champions League!

I admit that it is a big advantage for Barcelona to meet Napoli in the round of 16 because Napoli is also in a bad situation like Barcelona so the percentage of these two teams to qualify for the round of 8 is still wide open.

Barcelona's performance this season is quite bad indeed and there is no possibility whatsoever for them to win the title this season, in the domestic league alone they can't get the title let alone the Champions League, I wouldn't be surprised if Barcelona won't go far in the UCL this season because It's indeed worth it, with their current performance it's only luck to meet teams that are having problems or under performance that has allowed Barelona to get this far.

Barcelona and Napoli both are in the same situation. Barcelona had a good performance in the last season and they won the La Liga title in the last season with a huge gap they had with Real Madrid while they even had financial issues and Napoli won the Serie A title while other teams got much better and stronger players. But now both teams have changed and both teams are not in a good situation that's why I think both Barcelona and Napoli were lucky to face each other while they were not in the good form and that's why both teams can have a good chance of winning the match in the Champions League with the current situation they have.

I agree. There is nothing to be shocked about. Barcelona are having a much worse season than the previous one. They are weaker especially in defense as they have conceded more than enough goals so far. They are going to face Napoli which have really effective attackers. Especially Osimhen is a huge threat you know.

I expect to see many goals in this matchup first of all. If Napoli manage to get a decent win home first then I think they won't let Barcelona turn things around. Maybe Napoli are also not the same as their previous season version. But I believe they are good enough to get past Barcelona.

It is the truth when it comes to experience difference between PSG and Real Sociedad. While PSG have joined the Champions League 17 times in their history it is only 5 for Real Sociedad.  

PSG had more experience but that will not become a reliable data to said that if PSG would be winning easily against sociedad. I think that it's too early to underestimate sociedad caused by im sure if it will able to give a tough game for PSG.
I do know that if the gap between PSG and sociedad was so big but it doesn't mean sociedad was bad. The club can perform even better after it has been motivated to beat PSG which will be boosting the mentality from the players.

It was like 10 years ago when Real Sociedad were a part of the competition before. It is up to how effective PSG will be that's all. If we see the same effort from the group stage then there might even be a chance for Real Sociedad to upset them. Otherwise PSG should be victorious comfortably. I agree with you that Real Sociedad can beat any big team if they give themselves. But I can't call Real Sociedad team strong this season. Their performance is quite erratic. In 21 La Liga matches, Sociedad team won 9 matches and drew 8 matches. We haven't seen a very good performance from Sociedad. And Sociedad are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League.

PSG team on the other hand is strong now. Luis Enrique has managed to minimize the team's internal problems to a great extent. And now the understanding between PSG players is very good. The overall performance of the team is now stronger because of the better bond between the players. And so I think PSG will not lose against Sociedad.

all this is just because of the financial crisis which has caused Barcelona to look a little bad and not be favorites in the UCL and most would say the same thing about Barcelona who are currently short of players whereas if management has plans to fire Xavi from his post it will also make Barcelona condition worse.
let's see how Xavi is currently doing a great job in bringing Barcelona to a higher level, even though he is not consistent, but in fact Barcelona can still qualify for the round of 16.

When it come to the Champions League football, I don't consider PSG as a big team with big name anymore because of several disappointments they have caused in the past. They will be winning first leg with hope of finishing the stage up with some outstanding performance in the second leg, but they usually gave a bad performance which usually led to their elimination in the tournament almost all seasons. This season, their players are not too good compared to some previous seasons back, they only have Mbappe as a star player, that is why I don't expect them to have an easy game against Real Sociedad that has an outstanding performance in their group stage matches.

It is very difficult for PSG to win the Champions League  title this season. Manchester City, Munich  and Real Madrid are much stronger and  organized teams than PSG. PSG cannot even be considered favorites for this season's Champions  League. But it is possible to win the Champions League title even if not the favourite. Chelsea did it a few years ago.

I would not say that Real Sociedad team is very weak. This  team has not lost a single match in  the Champions League group  stage. Out of 6 matches they have won 3 matches and drawn 3 matches. Real Sociedad qualified for the  round of 16 as group champions despite  being in the group  with strong teams like Inter Milan. And so even if PSG team is considered as favorite in this  match, PSG must win by performing well. PSG  will not be able to qualify  for the quarter-finals if they do not perform  well. But the way PSG have performed  in the last few matches, I am  quite optimistic that they will be able to do well against Real Sociedad as well.

It's too good to be true. Barcelona can't even solve its financial issue and how can barcelona build the best club again? The club can only count on the players from its academy. So many times barcelona used the players from its academy as the best solution owned by the club.
Barcelona needs to sort out its financial problem and the club can think about how to build the squad to be even better after that. The good thing if barcelona is getting one of easiest route to play in the UCL.
It was helping barcelona to qualify for the further stage far easy compared to the other club. I can't even imagine when barcelona will be placed in the group F. Xavi has been also commenting regarding the bad gameplay of barcelona.

Even though many say Real Sociedad can beat PSG because they are not a farmer's league, I still admit that PSG is much better than Sociedad in terms of team quality. I am sure PSG will be able to beat Sociedad and advance to the next round. I don't underestimate Sociedad because we know they are performing quite well in the league and are ranked 6th in the standings. But with the quality of players both have, I think PSG is clearly far superior.

I don't think Real Sociedad is superior in terms of tactics and squad depth compared to PSG, so I think PSG is the team that is likely to come out on top and qualify for the quarter-finals. Of course, I am not underestimating Real Sociedad and the abilities of its players and coaches in that tight match, but PSG, which is a top European team with good squad depth, should be the favorites in the round of 16 match.

The probabilities of the two teams for the first leg show a very striking difference. PSG are favored at home and they are favorites to win, but Real Sociedad certainly won't give up without giving their best throughout the match. Yes, experience does not always provide a guarantee, but with a lot of experience a club can have a greater chance of qualifying for the next round and Real Sociedad will face PSG and maybe PSG will be the favorite in that match.

Although you know it happens when a club qualifies, due to performance, they may meet another team that, whatever the performance they have, if there is another club that is stronger than them, they will defeat them. And PSG will meet some strong squads that will be coming their way, which are the teams you mentioned: Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid. I agree. There is nothing to be shocked about. Barcelona are having a much worse season than the previous one. They are weaker especially in defense as they have conceded more than enough goals so far. They are going to face Napoli which have really effective attackers. Especially Osimhen is a huge threat you know.

They have no good enough defensive midfielder and also true defensive lineup for a player like Araujo shouldn't be seen anymore on that line up this season.
