Is the exchange running a single ETH node?
I guess there should be some redundancy system here in order to account for different mishaps that could happen.
I ma not sure about the cost of running an eth node, but i guess it is far below of the cost of having to suspend your service for a few hours.

These are probably questions for someone from eXch.

I got the impression that they running their own node for each coin, among other things, one of the reasons why they don't have a large number of listed coins.
Also, they once talked about the implementation of Tron, as far as I understood, they decided on it for a long time because it also requires a new node, wallet... But these can only be guesses

When they relaunched the platform, they declared that all nodes and wallets belonged to them
Important:
1. All the nodes and wallets our users interact with belong to us and we are fully responsible for users funds. We do not use third-party markets/exchanges nor resell APIs.

I got the impression that they running their own node for each coin

That is most certainly the case, if you don't run your own node you are simply counting on the integrity of everyone with access to the node/s you use, for an example, say I own or maintain mempool.space, I can display a fake transaction to your address and send you the txid, you paste it there and it would show as if it was real whereby in reality it does not exist on the blockchain, the same thing for wallets and exchanges, they can't afford to trust anybody's node or else how would they know for sure the transaction did indeed take place on the blockchain?

So as for fillippone suggestion about running a backup node, that also won't fix it, there are usually a few systems in place that work together to provide you with the exchange experience, having a secondary (everything) is not easily doable, even the largest exchanges out there go through these maintenance phases whenever they discover a bug or pull a new update for their node, obviously, the only thing you can really work on is "how long the downtime is going to be".

Indeed they're running their own nodes, we can see some info at the bottom of this page under "Node status information": https://exch.cx/status

I noticed that RUNE (Thorchain) has been removed from the currencies dropdown, and is no longer showing "coming soon" as it used to. Do you  still have any plans to implement it in the near future or not anymore?

Hello,

When can we expect an implementation that allows users to split transaction outputs between multiple addresses? This feature would help enhance privacy and make it harder for external blockchain analysis to trace funds.

Regards.

eXch is an instant exchange, they are not a mixer service, nor does it prioritize its business model to enhance privacy or make external analysis more difficult. They do not ask for KYC in any case and that is quite enough from their side.
If you insist, you can do a multiple swap from BTC to XMR, and then return everything to BTC in one transaction. A bit longer process, but in the end you will get what you want.

Exploring this idea, I think it would be cool if I could exchange $1,000 USDT into $700 BTC and $300 ETH in a single trade, for example.

I suppose you will then have more introductory information on the exchange page. Which can partly create unnecessary fuss... the user can copy the address incorrectly, or make a mistake with the commission settings, or (for example) forget to download the letter of guarantee.

I don't think there's any need to change something that already works great.

From the aspect of the cost of the transaction, there are no advantages. It still has to be the same number of transactions, network fee, etc... The only thing that would make it easier for the user is that instead of two, he would have one order. This feature seems to help the lazy, but it's not a good idea to be lazy when it comes to financial transactions.
I would also agree with icopress, complicating the process which is currently more than functional can only bring additional confusion and possible accidental mistakes.

If $1000 was exchanged in to $700 + $300 the exchange would not be making anything  Grin

Joking aside, I understand what you mean but the old saying about if it is not broken there is no need to fix it does apply to eXch as it functions well. Maybe in the future as users change habits it might become common practice for multiple transactions to occur with a single execution point but right now the way eXch transactions take place it is a great service as icopress stated.

Exploring this idea, I think it would be cool if I could exchange $1,000 USDT into $700 BTC and $300 ETH in a single trade, for example.

And this way you would probably make additional complication with whole exchange procedure and have bigger chance of some kind of bug in code, especially with ethereum and other coins.
I am all for making things as simple and clean as possible, and customers can later do any additional trades they want.

That might work, but
1. Don't forget to check both service and network fee along with TX fee when you send coin to eXch.
2. Not much privacy would be gained if you use lightweight wallet which connected to server you don't own.

Feel free to join the 19th Free Raffle (out of 20!) to try to win a nice Custom eXch Cryptosteel Capsule! Smiley

Thank you for this penultimate raffle, paid2 and eXch! The antepenultimate one was filled extremely fast (I think it is the fastest one so far) and I saw current one thanks to NeuroticFish, which announced it inside the Romanian thread dedicated for contests. I also announced it inside Romanian translation of OP.

Good luck everybody!
