The dev who promised he can make our API in 2 weeks, suddenly went MIA. Offer to hire was done, but never accepted. I re-posted the job and ask that https://www.reddapi.com/docs/rest/v1/ is our target. (equal or better API than that) And his price is 350$ At the present BTC market price, this can easily be worth 0.88 BTC. Should we hire this guy? At present we only have 150$ in donations. If you have any better option. Say them now.

We're using the LINUX daemon so no pop up windows ;-) I'll just add them into the karmacoin.conf file with a CONNECT statement and see if that breaks the log jam Once we're up to date, our xtc.inter.com node could become a new Web of Trust node -- it's our public facing proxy that we run on behalf of Givecoin and Clean Water Coin -dvd * UPDATED * The server on port 9436 is out-of-sync. going to drop and try just the 9432 node [ { "addr" : "148.251.5.75:9436", "services" : "00000003", "lastsend" : 1411401376, "lastrecv" : 1411401357, "bytessent" : 1195, "bytesrecv" : 75231, "blocksrequested" : 0, "conntime" : 1411401355, "version" : 70003, "subver" : "/Satoshi:0.8.6.2/", "inbound" : false, "startingheight" : 294056, "banscore" : 0, "syncnode" : true }, { "addr" : "148.251.5.75:9432", "services" : "00000003", "lastsend" : 1411401380, "lastrecv" : 1411401382, "bytessent" : 174, "bytesrecv" : 75363, "blocksrequested" : 0, "conntime" : 1411401380, "version" : 70006, "subver" : "/Satoshi:0.8.6.5/", "inbound" : false, "startingheight" : 330301, "banscore" : 0 } ]

Oh I know it takes time to sync -- what I've been doing is "capturing" the good/up to date nodes and adding them into the config. Stopping the daemon and restarting so that we try and get +51% of the peers to be at the right height coind@xtc:~$ ./karmacoind getpeerinfo | grep heig "startingheight" : 330308, "startingheight" : 330308, "startingheight" : 330308, "startingheight" : 294056, "startingheight" : 294056, "startingheight" : 294056, "startingheight" : 294056, "startingheight" : 330310, "startingheight" : 330311, "startingheight" : 294056, "startingheight" : 294056, "startingheight" : 330311,
What it tells me though is that your network of users are "asleep at the wheel" -- if they let their wallets go this far out of sync. Either need more supernodes online -- the check point servers etc. Once we're up to date we can look at doing some specific CONNECT only statements to build an Authoritative System of Record (SOR) approach to build out a Web of Trust. If you want that is -- "not my monkey, not my circus" at the moment -- just showing some good due diligence -dvd

TheLittleDuke (dvd) and perhan007. Please pm me the following so I can repost it here at the same time (so you don't copy each other): An overview of who you are, your capabilities, your strengths, your weaknesses, your willingness to commit etc. What you want from Karma itself and the community. What is the overall direction you would like to take Karma in? What are your goals, target completion dates for each goal and how do you intend to achieve each goal? Suggested format:An overview of who you are, your capabilities, your strengths, your weaknesses, your willingness to commit etc. What you want from Karma itself and the community. The overall direction you want to take Karma. Goal x: Title for goal x, target completion date What goal x is. Why goal x is important. How you intend to achieve goal x, relating back to the target completion date. Goal y: Title for goal y, target completion date What goal y is. Why goal y is important. How you intend to achieve goal y, relating back to the target completion date. Etc with further goals if applicable. Notes:You can put as many goals as you want, however make sure they are achievable and the direction you are heading in is clear. You can make the the target completion dates as vague as you want, however specific and realistic (but not too far away) may be better. If you can't convince people the goal is important you won't find much support. The more control you have over the outcome the more probable success may appear. I'll post the timing of the responses with my post, but don't rush the responses on that basis. I know posting this here isn't fair. The overall direction you have for Karma may be more important than your goals. Anybody else can also pm me their answers to the above, deadline is the later of 48 hours or when both TheLittleDuke and perhan007 have messaged me. You may use any of the resources at your disposal including the community itself, as a member of the community you may help either of the candidates you have taken a liking to or point out this post to another candidate you would like to take part. You can copy things from what you've already written and put them here. Cheesy responses accepted however they may not be well received by the community. I'm in no way the judge, I'm just facilitating the questions. Chargin. Edit: Please note I edited the post above approximately 30 minutes after creating it.

Hello Karmanians,
My Name is André and I am Perica's (perham007) Business Partner and Friend. I had no intention in posting here as I am known for someone who is rather not diplomatic at times and speaks his mind too freely. That of course can be perceived very easily as hostile and aggressive, especially if you just read it instead of sitting opposite of me and talking about it. I hate to waste time, so let me speak my Mind...
First:
I like everyone who is actually voicing any requests or demands to introduce himself, anyone who calls himself a Karma-Core Tech/Developer/Inner-Circle Manager/ Decision Maker please make yourself know.
======================== Name: Age: City of Residence: Function: Total Value of Karma Coins: ========================
I like to know who I am talking to, I believe that if you have genuine intentions for Karma's future it is a reasonable request considering that everyone is hiding currently behind pseudonym here.
That of course excludes TheLittleDuck - it is nice to meet you David.
Here is what I am interested in: As one of the Biggest Stakeholders in Karmacoins I believe we can make such a request considering that our Company has openly showed interest to help out here on our own cost. Perica was very clear on the fact that we do not want to own Karma, but ensure it goes back to a state where it is able to attract Investors else this is just another dead pile of bytes.
David (TheLittleDuck) made also a lot of very good points and it is clear that with like any other Business there has to be a Management line looking after the Interest of the Stakeholders. It is a Community driven Project and as such it has to be driven. But it need clear insurance that such a disaster does not repeat itself. Whoever is taking charge and stepping up as Godfather of Karmacoin will have the responsibility to ensure the Services continue without major interruptions for the future.
This should be the first and only Task we are discussing at this point in time on this Thread. All other discussions about new Services, Ideas, Actions etc. should be placed in its own Karma-Forum.
Lets not waste any more time with chitchat and this childish flame/blame accusation threads because that only shows immaturity and makes clear that your Mind is way to young to have a seat on the board.
Sincerely André

I'm running headless Ubuntu server (no GUI) on a Virtualized cloud system. I've compiled and built dozens of coin daemons and wallets on multiple operating systems. Your snotty little note about my being a developer and not getting your block chain to sync up because you have a shitload of broken nodes out there combined with your continual suggestion that you should centralize all Karma services onto a single node just makes me think that you're incredibly young and inexperienced, not only with systems development, but with being a basically decent human being capable of adult discourse. You've already admitted that you're newbie in other posts ;-) So my suggestion is to either: LEAD or FOLLOW or JUST GET OUT OF THE WAY. If you don't have something constructive to add to the conversation just stop hitting the REPLY button. Why don't you do something for us that is more helpful? Go figure out what it would take to get the VANITYGEN toy to work with KARMA addresses?

Well met Andre! And welcome to the dialogue / discussion (I'm more interested in the former than the later) And thank you for recognizing the value of the suggestions that I and others have made. When I think of Karma I think of a society and community that has more of a "spiritual leader" -- not someone with Messianic aspirations as others have accused. I think more of Python's own Guido van Rossum "Benevolent Dictator for Life" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benevolent_dictator_for_lifeI'm not proposing that I alone fill this role. What we do need though is a council or a "board" using the parlance from the biomedical company I used to work for where we had a very formalized change-management system in place. The Godfather idea to me seems to heavy-handed and patriarchal. I should think we have a bright future in trying to attract more women to the coinbase! I agree that having a vested interest in the coinbase in the form of current holdings is an important consideration, though I would argue that it runs somewhat against the interests of the public trust. To some extent that is "retrospective karma" and not "go forward karma" that I feel the coinbase needs to grow and thrive. If you want to compare wallets I should think one ought to do it with something that can be translated into actionable money. Just to put things in perspective? We paid http://www.howitworksmedia.com about $6000 USD to produce our explainer video including hiring Chris Rice the voice of "what is bitcoin?" and "what is bitcoin mining?" http://vimeo.com/98211762I'm more than happy to explore a joint-venture if we can understand what your goals are for the coinbase -- there could be a natural "for-profit" as well as a "not-for-profit" component. Ultimately I believe that EVERY coinbase has to solve a problem other than as an affinity rewards program for the sole purpose of amusing its members. Let's talk? -David V Duccini

The clue was the version 80605 linux daemon is "karmad" and not the old "karmacoind" NFI where we got the OLD code from, but we have an updated daemon built and its syncing. -dvd

BITWHO -- this points out that the developers should be triggering a notification to show up in the ERRORS -- which in theory should show a message in the wallets prompting users to update (and signal to correctly configured linux daemons an email notification to the sysadmin) -dvd

Dear David, Please forgive, I am not a native English speaker so it might occur that I fail to translate my thoughts into a combination of words that can be understood the same way my thoughts wanted it to come out. David, I do not expect any information in any form from yourself. I have read your Posts, comments, Facebook, Website, Work History etc.. I know enough and it is nice to meet you. That said my main concern is guided to all those who have not yet introduced themselves. Ultimately there is no need to be a Stakeholder of Karma but i like to work with actual facts before I start building trust. I am looking forward to hear from all of you Sincerely, André
