Awesome! Reinforces my decision to point my miners at the dev address... even as monero seems to be decoupling a little bit from bitcoin

Amazing work. Glad I stumbled into monero when I did!

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Awesome! Reinforces my decision to point my miners at the dev address...

Please continue to do that especially if you are able to solo mine with a full node. Not only do you support the project, but you keep the network strong and help decentralize mining.

EDIT: and thank you for your support!

That website is coming together nicely.

Awesome Missive!  Thanks, Core Team!

I've taken the liberty to "wiki-fy" the Missive:  https://monerobase.com/Monero_Missives_22

Thank you!  I have a lot of "stub" pages at present, but I'm slowly-but-surely fleshing them out.

Monero is still in its infancy, but when it starts walking, we're going to want some solid documentation.  I hope I'm able to provide that.

Soon I'll get my own full node up.... once the new database is going. I'm running miners on these old 771 - 775 xeon hacked boards with 2 gigs ram. But I'm pooled on monerohash.com. That pool is pumpin 3.97 kh with 6 miners... so yeah, spreadin the hash!

Hey guys, I'm building a BTC based website and it was suggested that I also accept XMR/Monero. I currently don't have the time to research the coin myself right now, so can anyone give me the 30 second pitch on why I should add XMR/Monero to my site?

I think you should read this today's post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.msg10062838#msg10062838

Might take a bit more than 30sec though.

It wasn't a "twenty-second" read either, I feel cheated.

That does sound like some great work by the devs, however nothing really screamed I need to implement XMR into my site.

I will add it to the ToDo list however and see about getting something going. Has anyone developed any web api's yet? Something like https://blockchain.info/q or https://blockchain.info/api/api_receive

Of course you don't need to do anything, including BTC. It's all about opportunity.

Something like the query API used to be supported by monerochain.info but that site disappeared.

A version of the receive API is a good idea.

What sort of site are you building?

It's a pay-per-download site that converts torrents into zip files, https://UnTorrent.Me currently a WIP (and free for a short while)

Awesome missive guys. Lovely team <3  Tongue
The historical review is great to introduce new people to Monero too.

Regarding Atrides's freebazar: I will increase my donation amount significantly right now, I invite everybody who already donated to do the same if they can, and everybody who didn't to contribute a bit. Atrides seem capable and motivated, it's a pity to fail on this goal. Whether you believe the freebazar project is absolutely relevant or not, it's a nice way to increase momentum around Monero.

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's.
This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

I'm confused... you plan on operating (what I assume will be) a centralized service that function as a gateway to the bittorrent network and you plan on accepting payment for this service (which is fine - go free enterprise!) and you're not concerned with the traceability of the payments?

I mean..... didn't The pirate bay just get shut down? If I was doing anything like this, I would invest a lot of time into protecting my privacy.

I'll donate 200 for the bazaar-project

Edit; I can't see an xmr-address to donate to. Will send it to the normal donation address of XMR.

Atrides, if we're past 8k but below 10k, it would be nice to go ahead with the project. Consider it, please.
There is 1k available as bounty, and I'm sure the little missing bit would be filled within a couple more days.
