EDIT 2: It makes me think of this:
http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/puzzling-together-the-past-new-computer-program-to-reassemble-shredded-stasi-files-a-482136.html
The parallel is obvious to me: at the time people were shredding the secret documents, they had no clue somebody in the future would have methods, and patience, to reassemble the documents.

Quite interesting.
I recall when I was but a wee lad, in the mid 1980's, I went to my father's place of employment. It was there that I saw a paper shredder and I looked over the shredded documents. I thought, and commented to my father, that the documents could in fact still be pieced together by someone who was bound and determined to do so.
I did not imagine that computers would one day be employed to complete the task. Shocked

As far as the private channel, he said up front that was how communication would happen.

I invited all backers, but only 6 responded.
Private channel was created to discuss some things and because these guys have an influence on ideas and process.
I can also add anonymous backer, just send me PM/email with transaction.

On the CCD chat, @User893x7Z wrote "I feel like I am sitting on a huge rocket"

I followed up with a conceit, that you may like:

A rocket explodes, has a very high delta-v and exhausts fast. Good to leave the atmosphere, but hard to go much farther than, say, the Moon.
On the contrary, Monero is more like a ion thruster: low delta-v but you can start interstellar travels"

Monero: the first crytocurrency to bring bank secrecy and net neutrality to the blockchain.HyperStake: pushing the limits of staking.

LOL @

....
I'll throw 5 xmr your way to make this happen.....

i know im a high roller right?

Take care of the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves Smiley

EDIT: Or: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

Enough with the expressions, we should be thankful for the small guys that step in and want to donate the projects. We have to do/fund this together, so making fun of them is out of order for me.

Privacy matters, use Monero - A true untraceable cryptocurrency

XoMoneRians   - Incorporates the XMR

The X is just to fit with the ISO standards for currency codes, so I don't think it should be in the name.
Remeber that Bitcoins currency code is XBT and not BTC.

I think Monero (XMR) is very interesting.

Is there any differences between Monero and Darknote?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=788916.0

Darknote has all things that Monero has. But monero does not have good price as Darknote.

I, for one, am grateful for all the donations I got. It's not like it covers the work done (at the actual price anyway). But what matters is that every donation is a token of appreciation for the small contribution I made to the community. THAT FEELS GOOD. Its one of the great things about our little corner on bitcointalk.

"We few, we happy few, we .." ermm, sorry. Trailed off a little there.

Anyways, when I mentioned to my wife that you guys we're giving me money just because you wanted to, she asked: "But why?". Yeah, its that unusual.

Having said that I though the way GingerAle said it was a great LOL too. Wink

Is any work being done on the official GUI atm, or are all efforts being directed to LMDB implementation?

Yes - we're remerging/updating daemonize, working on RPC -> IPC (via 0MQ), beginning the refactor/extrapolation to libraries, and working on non-64-bit comparability. This is all directly related to the GUI effort

Very nice. Really looking forward to trying it out. Hope there isn't too long of a wait left.

BCN/CN.org-gang DDOSed my tiny, private VPS. Which I use just for IRC. Hostname/PTR-record is "cryptonote.co".

Context
Because I hang around in many, many IRC-channels and chat quite alot. Over time, plenty of people are going to see/notice my IRC hostmask "cryptonote.co".
So I decided to start a HTTP server on the VPS and redirect requests for http://cryptonote.co to http://monero.cc.
(So curious or interested people find a page under this URL and not just an empty page or an browser error message.)

Obvious the intention was to support The Monero Project. It was a conscious decision against http://cryptonote.org. Most of you, know the reasons why.
Absolutely didn't expected, that anyone could be offended or seriously unhappy by this (non-issue).

Turns out, BCN/CN.org-crew don't approve. Wink
