Double your XMR for current price is not easy, it will be 0.027, it is the first all time high. We need more time to get that agains

I just had a bit of an 'aha' moment I want to run by you for consideration: Following an r/monero discussion on the frequent occurrence of orphans in Monero compared to bitcoin. Which at first sounded alarming, but on pondering what is actually happening with mining in the network for orphans to occur, it seems to me it is another plus for monero and its choice of mining algorithm : Eg that the number of orphans could be used as a metric to measure decentralisation. This would have to be weighted by blocktime and hashrate (being an actual negative multiplier eg loads of hash and not many orphans = bad) and so on to represent a meaningful comparison of actual decentralisation and therefore resilience of the network. here's the reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/5ozxwn/block_added_as_alternative/

type "seed" into that and hit send, and it should show your seed.
[12:45:53] > seed [12:45:53] [wallet 47W9Eo]: unknown command: seed Ok let me summarize the situation. I can open my wallet only with Monero Client v0.22.0 but the client is outdated. So, I can't do anything with this client except looking at my outdated balance. The problem is, when I move my .keys, other client ask me for a password. I don't have password or mnemonic (this feature wasn't developped yet). When I created my wallet, Monero Client v0.22.0 never asked for a password. I think I have 2 possibilites : - Rebuild the client to make it work again and transfert my balance to another wallet. But I'm not a developper, this looks like impossible to me. - Find a way to create a passphrase/password for my wallet and then I would be able to open it with any client. Maybe with a command line, I don't know. Any ideas ? Thanks for trying to help me guys, have a nice day!

It probably will entail giving them your wallet. If so, make sure you know who you are giving it to and that it is actually them.

I invested 400 in XMR a few days ago and lucky me, it was the day that mymonero.com was having issues with sending transfers. Currently, I'm downloading and syncing Monero Core GUI. The latest version. One of the concerns I have is that I won't be able to import mymonero wallet into monero gui.
will the simple wallet commands work with the new client? How do I import the electrum style seed? Please help.
Thank you
Hi there. Yes, it is possible to import your mymonero wallet into the Core GUI using monero-wallet-cli, which is shipped as part of the Monero Core GUI software. There are detailed instructions here : http://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/3091/how-do-i-use-my-mymonero-wallet-via-the-monero-core-guiIf you only recently bought the monero, I recommend you take advantage of the option to 'Restore from specific blockchain height', ie pick a block number from just before you bought the monero. This way only a few blocks will need to be scanned for your tx and it will be done very quickly. FWIW, once you have DL'd the GUI and have it sync'd, running the daemon whenever your PC is on takes only minimal overhead, and will greatly increase the speed at which you can spend your XMR in the future as you will always be up to date with the blockchain and will only need to scan recent blocks for new inputs/outputs to/from your wallet before being good to go. Good luck

When it is asking for your password, you should enter a *new* password so that it can create a new encrypted wallet (or encrypt your unencrypted wallet). It is *not* asking for your old password (which does not exist). (I guess it would be better if the client had a more informative prompt, like "enter a new password so we can encrypt your unencrypted wallet".) I ran into that issue a while back. Make sure to back up everything before messing around with it! Good luck.

I get my mined coins sent to MyMonero online wallet. However any deposits after the fork are unspendable for some reason.
I installed the GUI and imported the private keys but whenever its done syncing my balance is always 0.00

You can run the core GUI or CLI wallet using a remote node, and then don't need to download the blockchain.

You can run the core GUI or CLI wallet using a remote node, and then don't need to download the blockchain. The command is ./monero-wallet-cli --daemon-host [ip address of remote node] where the ip address can be the actual ip numbers or a name, like ./monero-wallet-cli --daemon-host 2nodez.moneroworld.com (the command should work just like that, because I tested it just now. You can paste it into your shell.) here is a list of remote nodes https://moneroworld.com/#nodesYou don't need to have the blockchain on your machine.
