(Offline Computer) Open your cold wallet. In the "Send" panel, click "Sign tx file", and select the file that you copied from your USB.
Impossible to do since "Wallet is not connected to Daemon Start daemon" Hmm, wait EDIT: If someone is facing the same problem reading this in the future The problem was the inability to navigate through the wallet Canceling the daemon doesn't allow you to do anything at all Don't click cancel upon starting the wallet, click use custom settings Don't set anything but you'll be able to navigate to Send and tx files

Which types of transactions do you guys think would benefit most from a private coin like monero? What other things besides the illegal ones? Fishing for some cool arguments for convincing people of monero's value

Liberty. If you don't want your coins to be seized from the goverment, bank or whoever, Monero is a tool for liberty. In the 21st century, freedom is gone. It has been leaked even Signal and WhatsApp encryptions were broken and spyed on, facebook and other messengers don't even need to be mentioned. All cryptocurrency is a tool that goes away from centralisation and surveillance, however monero takes privacy a step further. Our society is missing that, we have no privacy anymore. Monero provides that.

But these things are usually too conceptual for people to really 'feel' them. What are some real world examples of how monero would benefit you? Like the example of ordering pizza by bitcoin and the pizzaboy being able to see if your wallet has a lot of btc in it and maybe plan to rob you once his shift is over... you know, real world examples. not platitudes, however real they actually are.

Certainly here is one example I can think of.... I'm in the USA... I am doing business (legal) with someone in ... say... Russia.... Do I necessarily want to pay them for something using BTC, when instead I can use XMR? No, of course not. Why? Well we all know the answer I believe? That's just one. I can think of plenty more where you don't want to leave a "trail" ... legal or not...

In the US there is civil asset forfeiture. Authorities can take your cash without you being convicted of anything. Here's a few examples (only a few...this happens much more often than people realize) http://dailysignal.com/2015/10/16/why-police-can-legally-seize-your-cash/Instead of cash, I'd rather have untraceable Monero.

Short answer - it's complicated. Longer answer - even if you have Monero you could be forced to surrender your password if there is suspicion of you hiding ill gotten gains in your wallet: http://kernelmag.dailydot.com/issue-sections/features-issue-sections/11071/police-force-password-cellphone/Basically the 4th AND 5th amendments to the U.S. Constitution have both been trashed by successive administrations. I think the best law-abiding argument in favor of Monero is that you can be your own bank and keep your assets safe and confidential. The Government is certainly stealing from we the people, but commercial banks are getting their piece of the action as well (recent example...): https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/07/wells-fargo-awash-in-scandal-faces-violations-over-car-insurance-refunds.htmlMy advice - keep it secret, keep it safe, and consider getting the hell out of the FUBAR republic.

Luckily I don't live in the US and I don't face these problems. It surprises me every time I hear what this 'bastion of freedom' actually does to its citizens. Wish you all the best.

Could be used in systems where transactions being kept private is advantageous (e.g. trades).

There'll be new binaries for the GUI and CLI in advance of the hardfork.
