Question: Should a portion of the unclaimed coins be made available for those that missed the swap?
Yes - We have enough to spare, even for late-comers.
No - Sufficient notice and time to complete the swap was given. It wouldn't be fair to those that were punctual.

So if I'm getting this right we are sending our coins to an exchange and they will swap it with the new one and we can than withdraw? The exact same amount? We don't loose any from what we have?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Bittrex has successfully swapped coins before (Coin2 - C2/NC2) so they know what they are doing.

Of course you have to pay a certain amount fee for the exchange if you want to withdraw all your coins. Any exchanges does not offer free services.

I got no problem with C2/NC2 exchange on Bittrex.

Ok, I'm not worried about those 0.2% fees. I'll get that back from staking if it's going to work after the fix.  Cheesy

Yes, minus any withdrawal fees. Update to the new wallet (when released), then wait until the corresponding exchange gives the "ok" to withdraw.

Exchanges notified

So it's been brought to my attention (By Bittrex) that the exchanges can swap the coins behind the scenes, no need for a version 1/version 2 parity. That makes things very simple, and greatly lowers the overall risk. This will require maximum participation by everyone involved, as this update will be mandatory. All you guys will need to do is have all of your coins on one of the exchanges, update to the new wallet, and wait for the go-ahead to withdraw. OP will be constantly updated with which exchanges are on-board to assist with the swap.

It would be great if Bittrex is on board. I don't really trust the other exchanges where we are listed. Please let us know when they confirm participation and I will send my coins there asap. You can also spice up the deal by telling them that any unclaimed coins after a certain period will remain at their disposal for giveaways.

Bittrex was the first exchange to agree to help with the swap. Check the OP for the section "Exchanges notified and on-board with update" to find out which exchanges are going to help out. We've got 2 weeks to get the plan ready, so they will most likely all be on-board by then. It's just a matter of picking an exchange that you trust the most to handle the swap.

FYI to all: Bittrex already has experience with this kind of swap.

Taking donations to pay for wallet upgrade...

Just in case you all missed it: I'm paying for the wallet update myself, but I'm accepting donations to help compensate OCdev for his time. It's not coming out of the "dev fund", or some secret stash, or my successful trades; it's coming out of my bank account. I realize it's great getting "something for nothing", but I've only received 2 donations from the same person! Let me put this in perspective:

Cost: 2BTC
BTC Donated: 0
CFC Donated: 200k (about 0.06 BTC, depending on where you trade)

If you're feeling generous, check out my tumblr post for the addresses.

Hiya PTseller,

Yes, you can send them now if you like. The only time they're required to be on an exchange is during the upgrade, which is 2 weeks from now. The exchanges and I are going to make this process as smooth as possible, with little loss, if any. No need to worry about losing coins  Wink

Hi, I think we should to take this swap seriously.
first: we notify all CFC members to send coins on Bittrex or other exchanges.
then: we check all exchanges wallet CFC amount, find out how many coins is left in old wallet, and keep this amount new coins in some where, or in Foundation wallet.
and document this coins in somewhere( OP or Official website), if some day these guys remember their CFC, they can swap it back from the Official Foundation wallet.

I think this will be better , because somebody just by an AltCoin, and put it in the wallet, and will come back after a few months later.
