I think the brand has outstanding potential.  I'm aware of the Liberty numismatic coins, and even libertycoin.com.  The brand potential is the main reason I believed the devs would have to be complete idiots to pump-and-dump it (and they don't seem like idiots).  While the brand has enormous potential (and while I happen to be more than a little prejudiced because I love liberty), when it comes to projections like that, we all know it's speculation.

Then google business around the world with Liberty in their name.  There are so many. Soon many businesses will accept crypto and I'm pretty sure that this businesses will choose Liberty coin than archaic name like Dogecoin or Darkcoin.

"easily" 3000-fold
For that delusion alone i wish you that it is at 1 Cent at the end of the year LOL. You really think you just need to copy some feature here, some feature there and the whole business world that did not even adopt Bitcoin will embrace you because of that shitty name? If business people connect the name to something at all it will be Liberty Reserve, which is even worse than being connected to a certain IE.

We'll there is definitely interest in this coin.  The volume alone is interesting...this isn't a whale selling to itself.

I picked up 15k at 3k and another 15k at 4k satoshi.  Wish I could of hit the bottom, but I was busy in the dark vs XC drama.  Where this coin goes is anyone's guess, but hoping and wishing for 100.00 a coin is just wishful thinking right now.

Of course there is some interest. People playing with the hopes of a ton of bagholders at the levels above 10k. Imagine what happens if the coin hits these levels again, that will be an instant dumping bloodbath (same which will happen if BC hits 57k or 90k once again w/o massive buy pressure to overcome that).

While I can't argue with your skepticism about the XLB being worth $100 by EOY, I think it's laughable that someone with a blackcoin link in their sig would call LibertyCoin a shitty name.  Same applies for the codebases.  Careful with those barbs, you'll put your eye out. Also, most people are probably only vaguely aware, if at all, about Liberty Reserve, and most probably don't give a fuck one way or another.

What is it exactly about BlackCoin that makes it worth 5.7-9 times more than LibertyCoin?

None of which means that I'm buying into anyone's hopeful projection about what any cryptocurrency is going to be worth 6 months from now.

By market cap (different coin supply) it is ~24 times.
Well, i'd say that is because we already accomplished a lot of things whereas your moments of fame was former BC guys pumping the coin on Bittrex, trying to take over here and then the battle with IE (which we had to go through as well and which is the reason why i was checking this thread at all Wink ).
If you look at this very very incomplete list https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=599299.msg7044930#msg7044930 and the subreddit and compare that to your achievements you will see that BC is actually much much more worth than only 23 times XLB.
There is a reason why PoS and Multipool are the basics of every single coin since BC, and there is a reason why everyone who copied it failed brutally.

I still think you can have success, but neither the name nor the anon things that everyone will have added will make this an instant success, especially not with that many burned people waiting for some recovery to exit.

Personally I think by end of June the market will be tired of pow/pos and something new will come up and become the "new thing"

I've been noticing a lot of cryptonotes coming about lately...

My 5.7-9x factor was based upon your projected dump points.  Obviously BC has been around longer and is more established.  The dev team and the community seem dedicated and reasonably competent, and BC seems to be healthy on the exchanges.  All those things are worth something, but I would argue that it is hard to quantify exactly what they're worth.  This is still very early in the game for cryptocurrency as a whole.  We're all playing in a speculative market, and that is the type of animal that regularly fools the "experts."

I'm currently mining one or two of them.  Their anonymity promises to be better than anything else out yet (I haven't tested it).  In my experience with QCN, at least, the transfer and confirmation time has been very slow compared to coins like XLB.  I haven't actually transferred any of the others. Speed is important. There's SlimCoin, which is proof-of-burn--interesting ide're.  I think POS is definitely better for long term network viability than POW.

Did you recently just install the wallet?  If so, this is normal. Out of sync means that you don't have all of the transaction data downloaded yet.  There is a lot of info there, so it takes a while.  You should see a status line at the bottom indicating progress on downloading that data.  Once you are caught up, then you will be "in sync".

Libertycoin was a brand.  Past tense.

The name may be good, but as a brand it is not.

Libertycoin went from a brand to a name - a name no-one trusts anymore.

Now that name is merely a word - a word that is synonymous with failure in the crypto world.

The so-called community did this to themsleves with irresponsible posting and public shit throwing contests.

Please go to google and type in "doing a Ratner" - everyone can learn a big lesson from that.

"The most famous gaffe of them all, so much so that such gaffes are now known as "doing a Ratner".

Gerald Ratner wiped £500 million from the value of Ratners jewellers with one speech in 1991.

He said: "We also do cut-glass sherry decanters complete with six glasses on a silver-plated tray that your butler can serve you drinks on, all for £4.95. People say, 'How can you sell this for such a low price?' I say, because it's total crap."

He added that his stores' earrings were "cheaper than an M&S prawn sandwich but probably wouldn't last as long".

He achieved notoriety after making a speech which caused the company's collapse (so called "Ratner effect").

It is important that the community understands this as it will help them to avoid things like this in the future.

Looking to the future is ok - but ignoring history is unwise.

Libertycoin is the biggest disgrace in crypto history - forget all the others.

In the days to come prices may rise and fall, people may make and lose money.  All the smart money has left.

"Doing a Libertycoin" will live on for many years to come.
