Someone place order in mintpal to buy 451842.33749033 at a price 0.00002910 = total 13.14861202 BTC   Shocked  Shocked  Shocked

That's about 7% of all Libertycoin in circulation.

Either from a single buyer or from 2 or more people all wanting to buy at the same price.

The concentration of coins into fewer and fewer hands looks like it is continuing.

And yet the top wallet of around 725k yesterday is down to 500k today.

The top wallet has dumped 30% or more of their holding.

Hmmm

It's going to take weeks to get all the larger hands to unload.  If this drops to 1k I would expect a jump in price again like what we saw last week.

Why do you people buy coins like this? You think you're betting on the next bitcoin? Seriously, get real.

I'm not saying anyone is scamming, just a quick breakdown of where the coins are based on the published Rich List.

The Libertycoin Rich List (I wonder why it's called that) only accounts for 5.771 million coins

There are roughly 800k coins missing from it which is weird.  I wonder where they are?

The top 5 wallets combined hold 34% of all coins (of 6.5 million coins)

The top 10 wallets combined hold 58% of all coins (of 6.5 million coins)

The top 15 wallets combined hold 77% of all coins (of 6.5 million coins)

Taking a sensible lower limit of 1000 coins, there are 501 wallets with 1000 or more.

This means roughly 23% of all coins are held in 486 wallets, at an average of around 0.45% each (of 6.5 million coins)

The average is a little misleading ... there are 30 wallets with over 100k after the top 15.

This is freely available information

I suspect a similar pattern is repeated for nearly all the other coins.

When such a concentration of "wealth" is held in so few hands, a (wo)man is no longer in control of his/her own destiny - (s)he is at the mercy of the rich, subject to their whims and control, which is no different to the current banking situation we are all trying to get away from.

I am working on a list of ideas that we can discuss on adding more value to the Libertycoin community. What are more ideas we can come up with to increase value?

Has anyone ever commented on any of these bitcointalk threads using their real name?
A major ingredient in liberty is trust, no?
After all where is the strength in a "community" who's members don't even know one another?
That is one of my ideas for this coin. Could someone create a platform where libertycoin community members could state who they really are, on record. Real names. Maybe a short bio.
People here say they want this coin to stand out and be different from the rest. A real community will stand out. People could even state how many xlb's they hold. Members could trade services etc.

That is one of my ideas for libertycoin, but I have more crazy ideas.

Could anyone create on online market only for libertycoin, like a craigslist or a Kijiji?

Now this is an out there idea, based on trust.

Imagine a staged buying rally of xlb's. One where members announce there buy orders as they're placed. One where community members anounce how much btc they will be spending. One where members first vote on the desired price level for XLB. With real names used and the ability to trace who dumps if anyone does.

Do you think these things, if accomplished, would make this coin stand out? I do.
Do you think these things are possible, or is there not enough trusting and trustworthy people in the community of libertycoin?
To radical?
To scary?

Vault sounds interesting. How would that work?

Edit: what would be nice is if there was a feature in the wallet that would allow u to auto post to social networks when u trade/send/receive liberty coin. Could have a link to a quick start guide to purchase liberty coin or a libertycoin newsletter.

I got the idea from coinbase. This could have a huge effect on exposing libertycoin to the masses and could increase the value as well.

Dude stop talking bullshit, the market value of libertycoin is $ 278K, you can buy a lot of coins because now the price is very cheap.

The large wallets are exchanges, Mintpal, Crispty, etc. ..

Unless you like to pay more for some XLB I do not know which problem to buy now ... with a 5BTC you purchase 1% of all XLB is very cheap!

BUY WHILE STILL CHEAP!
