One question about VeriBit:

If the markets starts to crash, and ppl will liquidate vrc to btc through the veribit, will the btc buffer take market depth into account or can i get a better price of my VRC via veribit in a fast declining market? That would make the buffer bleed.

Edit:
Thinking of this some more. If we have a crashing market, veribit makes it even easier for users to dump VRC directly from wallet and you will probably get a better price than transferring to exchange, waiting for confirmation and trading.
This would accelerate the crash and bleed out the veribit buffer.

Anyone?

It has already been mentioned that VeriBit is limited to small transactions, not market-moving dumps.

woke up this morning to see VRC maintaining its expected uptrend.

Then, surely, that would make it not anonymous?

There is no blockchain which sets a name behind a wallet. And if you pay your bills from an exchanger, there will be no possibility to track down a real human behind a payment. I can still buy anonymous btc and sell it anonymous, like it should.

What do you mean by this: "There is no blockchain<...>"? How it's possible for a coin having no blockchain? And there is Block Explorer.

BTW if criminals and terrorists secide to use VRC the price would be 1000x cause of the demand, would you be sad then Smiley

thats a interesting question.....

if u u find a bag with money on street and u hear in radio there was a bankrobbery in a town nearby

would ya keep the bag?

if you sell on ebay some stuff and someone send ya instead of 100$ 10000$ and later tell ya sorry please send back 9000$ to another bank account and keep the 900$ for the troubles u had  ( a well known methode to wash dirty money......)

would ya do it?

basical its about moral and and support/not support common rules of society

for me its a clear NO i am against any anon crypto features it just attract drug blood diamond mafia and similar criminal people/business

we at Diamond DMD did choose against any anon features we expect crypto business be soon legalized and regulated by laws and when the coins be spit into criminal and legal ones we wana secure our investrors are on the save side

I think most of you are wrong about anonymous features.  Not many people care now because crypto is still new and you can't use it for much. When crypto is mainstream and it's used for many different types of financial transactions, investments, and purchasing, a lot of people will care about privacy.  Private transactions has many real world uses and not just for illegal transactions.  IMO, there will be a huge market for private transactions in the crypto banking and financial sector.  Several years out from now, of course.

Thats why vericoin will have the option to send anonymous or not.

I think most of you are wrong about anonymous features.

Because you're not paying attention to what is being said. People don't generally seek full-time anon transactions but they like to have the option available as and when they might wish to utilise it.

That's all that is being said. There is little mileage in promoting a coin based solely on it being 100% anonymous 100% of the time, except for the type of people who 'need' that and, let's be honest here, they aren't going to be bringing legitimacy to a coin project that will elevate it to being seen as a serious contender in the mainstream.

This is why VRC is gaining rapid traction, not because it can do anon, but because it does more than anon, while still being, at it's core, a p2p PoS interest-bearing currency.

I agree that it will be useful. Whether or not the tech behind it has to be super-powerful / decentralised or not I don't know.

To me the anon tech should be powerful enough to prevent a business from checking up on you, an employer from checking up on you, that kind of thing. I may get my head bitten off for saying this but a centralised solution would provide this no problem at all.

Of course, if the police come knocking and they want info on some criminal's funds, then the manager of the anon tech will have to give it up or face problems.

I think ive read that the limit is/was 1btc but that limit would be taken away as the functionality of the veribit is confirmed.

Also I believe that many or most of alt-traders are the ones who have just minor amounts of coins, so they can dump very easily at a better price directly from wallet through veribit.

not to mention people who are going through a divorce or whatever and don't want to give half of their btc to the ex. I can think of several legitimate ways that anonymous transactions apply in the real world.

Hey there devs. As a VRC investor, would like to know what is your agenda on PR events/happenings, can you share some info so we get a better idea about it? Has been mentioned here that you were in process to hire a PR firm for supporting your campaign, maybe you guys could give us some hints about that too.

Thanks,

Eth.

Hey Guys/Gals.

I am offering 50 VRC ($14 worth) free to anyone who can make a good you tube video showing how easy it is to pay with Veribit using the new vericoin wallet.

We need more videos like this on you tube, to spread the word to the masses!

In other languages will be perfect.   Message me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUYPuzdIGxk

thank you [address deleted]    Grin

Do not send any VRC to the address provided by patronis. That little shit had nothing to do with the video; he's simply trying to con you out of your VRC. The best thing you can do is add him to your ignore list.

IT was a joke you bold headed fak. Its not even my adress i put a random one in so RELAX

The problem is that because verisend is both trusted and centralized (as opposed to trustless and decentralized), it's not a true anonymity solution. Anyone using verisend hoping to remain truly anonymous better think again.

Why do you think DRK took off so much? Because they offer a trustless and decentralized solution. Talk to anyone who knows about anonymity, and they will laugh at verisend and anyone using it hoping to remain anonymous.

not to mention people who are going through a divorce or whatever and don't want to give half of their btc to the ex. I can think of several legitimate ways that anonymous transactions apply in the real world.

Just because you might not want to give half of your assets to an ex, it doesn't hold true that you are entitled to withhold half of your assets from them. Do you know what happens to people who refuse to cooperate with court orders? They get found 'in contempt of court', and liable to anything from a fine upwards to prison time, repeatedly, until they do cooperate.

The same goes for all the bleating about 'der gubmint' coming to 'take away' all that you possess by way of their grossly unfair system known as 'taxation'!!!1!1111111!!! Yes governments are predominantly inefficient bloated organisations that waste a large amount of the income collected from the people, but that does not entitle you to arbitrarily decide that you are going to refuse to pay taxes and, instead, will 'hide' all your monies in anonymous crypto. Did I explain what happens to people who refuse to cooperate with court orders?

If you hate your government and all they represent, do something about it by changing the system from within, not by fucking the rest of us over by your antics costing more expenditure (of tax monies received) and man-hours to deal with.

The US preponderance for paranoid and pot-stirring media pundits does it's people no favours when it comes to getting them to understand that 'The Government' is not the enemy. The enemy is the enemy.

You can run the .exe and change the path to where the existing client is now...
