Honestly, I hope it works out, and any of these potential obstacles can be overcome or simply clarified. I'm not trying to lose anyone money, and I held some sync myself.

However, people should know some of the risks involved in this particular instance so they can make more informed choices. Too often these threads are a bunch of people just telling each other how many Ferrari's they are going to own when it all takes off, rather than being more hardheaded about their investments. Either that, or they wilfully ignore and shout down any glaring issues just to pump their assets and leave some other sucker with the bag. Which is scummy behaviour.

A realistic conversation should be possible.

I'm not willing to call shenanigans just yet. Dev seems a decent sort, and has already indicated he's working with others. I think he misstated the staking requirements, as every other PoS coin I've looked at or dealt with staked on any amount above zero. But it does take longer with smaller stakes, and it does run a higher risk of generating orphans. This is not really a big deal, though a mined block that the network don't accept is annoying as hell Cheesy

Give it a minute, people. Seriously. This was an incredibly smooth launch. It glitched when it hit PoS, and that was really the only speed bump so far. Name two coins that launched smoothly in recent memory? I can only think of one, and it's market has about died.

Worst case, we lost a bit of money. Maybe quite a bit. That sucks, but it won't end your life, or the universe, or anything like that. Call it a lesson learned. All new things are a gamble. I didn't risk more than I had to lose, which makes me a rather small bagholder if it all crumbles. But I don't think it will.

Excuse a few questions from a Noob:

1.  How do I addnodes ?  like the ones found on page 1.  I have the new wallet, I have sync coins in my wallet.....what do I have to do...if anything

2.  I just transfered some sync from Bittrex to my wallet, hasn't show up yet ( been about 30 mins).  Previously it was much faster
is this due to the reduced hash rate ? or the absence of blocks to mine.  I used the block explorer and I get a 404 error Huh

Thanks in Advance

Copy the addnodes
find the folder on your pc "appdata" its on c drive, users, (your user name), appdata, roaming, sync. there should be a sync.conf file in there. paste it there.

2. no the exchanges are just onto to withdrawals for a short time to ensure the blockchain is right, which it is.

Thanks for the response, there is no sync.conf file in stat folder Huh? suggestions

i think i recall seeing that MsCollec posted a config file a few pages back.

Thanks for the detailed solution, I did what you suggested and my computer didn't die.....so I guess it worked.  Why add nodes ?, what are they in the context of the sync coin network.  Or if you could point me toward a good article.

Again much appreciated

A node is a place to download the blockchain. We all carry a copy of the blockchain, which is a ledger.

When you are paid for that block does that mean I was the one the found it? I am guessing so since the stake amount for that block and the amount minted = what I have incoming. Man I wish I had more BTC to buy right now. Things look like they will smooth out and panic will subside. And the last of the POW multi pools are going to finish their dumping soon.

Any suggestion on how to get my coins to mature? I have had my encrypted wallet open for 11 hours and they still are not maturing.

It will take a while for the chain to speed up, and then your deposits will go nice and fast again.

It took 1 Hour 10 minutes and 10 second from block 8200 to 8201
It took 25 Minutes and 27 seconds from block 8201 to 8202

So if my math is correct (and it usually is not) block 8203 should be found in roughly 10 minutes

won't comment on your math, mine sucks.

But I'm curious if you know why PoS coins start so slow? Is it the network adjusting to the changed difficulty?

I was away due to unexpected circumstance, I am observing the blockchain before releasing any update to speed up the minting.
