Ok so figured it out...you can still send coins with no fee, you do have to add the tx fee in settings, but it will add an extra 0.00000001 to the text in the popup box about the fee when you send it...so the coding at least for that is off.

So if you add a 0.00000001 fee it will say the fee is 0.00000002 but will only take out a 0.00000001 fee.

so, to clarify; if you send coins without specifying a tx fee, coins will be sent with no tx fee, but if you specify a fee of 0.00000001, it shows 0.00000002 - yet only deducts 0.00000001

?

yep

Somewhere in the code it's adding the standard fee like it should to the variable that displays what the tx fee will be, but in the code to add the tx fee to the outgoing amount it's only adding the manual input tx fee and not the standard/included 0.00000001 like it should.

What I mean is I recall it should cost 0.00000001 to send coins no matter what and it's not doing that.

Man the staking issue is killing the coin in exchange Shocked

Good Dev and community but staking is spoiling all the hard work of everyone.

'the staking issue'

please elaborate?

The wallets are syncing but staking won't start until the coins mature. This is even after getting 4100+ conformation on the coins.

Thanks

Do you have any minted coins in your wallet?

No, nothing has staked for me from the time I had coins in my wallet. I think this might be a Mac issue but not sure.
Wallet is at 8366 now and full sync'd, but none of the coins are mature. I also noticed that if I close my internet connection, the syncing stops (obviously) but when I restart the internet, the sync'g does not begin automaticall and wallets gets stuck trying to connect. I have to restart the wallet everytime after there is a loss of net connection.

i've had stake in my mac wallet, no issues.
i've now split all my coins between 3 different wallets, i'll report here when they begin to mint and how much per stake although i've only just done the tx's so it may be a while.

OK great, so I received a stake of just shy of 1% of the staked coin value, if for arguments sake I want to reserve 100% and have access to all my coins are the staked coins now locked down for 1% of a year, 30 days, other?

if you want to 'reserve' 100% of your wallet balance, simply encrypt it and keep it locked - you can change the reserved amount at any time, but always unlck your wallet before you want coins to mint.

Let me cone at this another way.  Lets' say I have 2.5 sync listed as staking and I have received my stake for those coins.  If I make the change in my wallet options to reserve those 2.5 coins so they won't stake, how long will it take for the 2.5 coins to be moved back to the spendable box so I can get access to them to move to an exchange?

I tried reserving a portion but the coins did not move to spendable.  It seems like once the coins have staked I have committed to some type of time contract that the coins must stay"unspendable" am I wrong?

And thank you for your help with this Raskul, I'm sure I'm just not explaining myself correctly.

ah, gotcha.
Yes, once your coins have gone to stake, you need to wait 50 confirms before they go back to spendable, you can't take them back once they are in there.
apologies for misunderstanding.

2 POS Question:

1 ) By my rough calculations it looks like the percentage of minted coins is not fixed per "minting" in the staking process.  I say this by comparing what I have received verses what I have calculated looking at postings of peoples staked wallet pics.  Is what you are paid some calculation of actual hours and minutes of the year rather than x% per day based on confirmations and amount of time coins have been in wallet etc?

2) When do the staked coins move back to the spendable part of the wallet?  I have been paid my minted coins (however maybe there are more to come).  I just want to learn how to get access to the coins in case the price spikes and I want to sell a little dust.

Thanks!

1. it should be based on coinage and year rate
2. 50 confirmations.

50 confirmations.

reserve will only prevent it move to stake, will not move stake amount back to spendable. yes, 50 confirmations.

If you have issues make sure you have the Sync.conf (with a capital S) and all the nodes:
addnode=107.170.124.180
addnode=192.241.240.216
addnode=107.170.159.98
addnode=162.243.214.192
addnode=67.215.8.91
addnode=23.226.225.224
addnode=188.226.192.115
addnode=188.226.243.136
addnode=82.128.238.235

Make sure wallet is encrypted!
I closed and reopened mine once or twice at the start and that did the trick.
Now running like a well oiled robot.

I know I just mentioned this, but the 0.00000001 tx fee that's mandatory for every transaction didn't get coded in properly...and that will help the blockchain move along. (With it fixed.)

They added it to the popup box you get when sending coins about the tx fee, but forgot to add the actual function that adds the fee with your sending amount.
