I would recommend importing the bootstrap.dat file rather than attempting to sync. Syncing doesn't work particularly well. I updated the file a few minutes ago. Now it goes up to block 2014300 which was staked on Wed May  2 12:42:40 UTC 2018.

Edit: it is 2,547,452,869 bytes in size.

Great! because I have download bootstrap few week ago, and my wallet sync only until 21 week behind, and any progress during week. When do you plan to upgrade to new version of wallet?

it is labeled as prerelease published in 2017, the last stable release is from 2015. Quite old one!

Really we're just talking about a web wallet I suppose.

Each user could have an option "share stakes" which lets them decide whether they're pooling their stakes or working alone. One consideration here is that I think it is possible to look a short distance into the future and see whether your coin is going to stake soon. I don't fully understand how it works, but I think the staking algorithm depends on a "stake modifier" which changes every 10 or so minutes based on recent block hashes - so we can't look very far ahead since we don't know future block hashes.

We would need to prevent people from checking "share" only when they're not about to "win"...

I download last  bootstrap 2.37GB(2487747KB), but wallet import files only behind 23 week(around 20Nov 2017) then the synchronization starts...

I was only complaining about the fact it was not 100% premined and new coins are generated. An alternate version of clams coins without new coins generation would probably be the fairest distribution ever and I would think it would be an very awesome idea.

inashed was complaining about how CLAMs were distributed and came up with an idea for a new coin exactly like CLAM but only different so I am encouraging them to go ahead and make a new coin because there are not enough coins in the world yet

to be honest I'm not up to date with CLAM development and hope to get an idea as well
but yeah CLAM at this point is a golden egg , somehow traders aren't noticing it till now but I'm expecting a huge price boost this month

I made an updated bootstrap.dat file for people having trouble syncing their client.

It goes up to block 2014300 which was staked on Wed May  2 12:42:40 UTC 2018.

It's available as a download here:

or as a torrent here:

Download it, put it into the same folder as your CLAM wallet.dat, then restart the client.

If you are using the QT client, it will say "importing blocks" in the lower left corner while the bootstrap.dat file is imported. That is how you can tell that the file is being used.

It will take a while to import it, but it will be a lot faster than trying to sync using the p2p network.

When it is done, the client will rename the file to bootstrap.dat.old and won't look at it again.

Once it has been renamed you can delete it if you like.

To verify that you have the right file:

Edit: I also made a series of 'partial' bootstrap files. Each one contains the block data for 10,000 blocks.

So if you already have everything up to block 492123 and want to get up to date, download the -049, -050, etc. files, append them all together in order into bootstrap.dat in the same folder as your CLAM wallet.dat and restart the client.

In Windows you can append the files together by running "cmd", and using something like:

It's 2,565,076,446 bytes and contains 2,027,900 blocks.

That's an average of just 1,265 bytes per block which isn't very much.

Did the bootstrap.dat file get renamed to bootstrap.dat.old? That's what happens when the client has finished importing blocks from it.
