Clam going to hell unfortunately i loose all my coin in Cryptopia   Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

Cryptopia coins aren't quite lost just yet. They MAY be returned once the liquidator sorts things out (at least months).

liquidator = sells for pennies on the dollar then keeps half   Roll Eyes   i wouldn't hodl my breath

Not that kind of liquidator, but in practice who knows what is left. Cryptopia was a mess no doubt.

Do you mean that you get such 1200 CLAMS from Poloniex because you did join their lending pool? If yes, Poloniex compensated for their customers well.

No.

I had a failed withdraw that was never actually broadcasted.

It took 13 days to receive.  I was not compensated for my losses while I was unable to access my coins.

Great Idea ! Mind if i borrow for my own project ? Such a simple solution, because if indeed a valid transaction was created, a re-broadcast would resolve it.

It's not a new idea. There have been services offering to broadcast transactions for people since shortly after Bitcoin was launched.

See https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/pushtx/ for a good BTC one for instance. It lets you decode a transaction without broadcasting if you want to check that the fee is reasonable for example.

Oh, i know that. But i mean having it as an option WITHIN the exchange. So if a problem arises, a user can check the transaction and/or re-broadcast on demand.

Has anyone managed to get a proxy working with CLAM?

I have both proxy=x.x.x.x:xxxx in clam.conf and -proxy=x.x.x.x:xxxx on the commandline, but the client refuses to use the proxy, and continues to attempt direct connects.

The only mention of "proxy" in debug.log is:

AppInit2 : parameter interaction: -proxy set -> setting -discover=0

I've set up several other coin clients and all have used the proxy as expected. CLAM is the first to do something different. Any ideas?

Clam version v1.4.18.0-unk (), fresh compile downloaded from the github link in the OP.

=================

Edit: Now I remember, I had this exact same problem a few years back. For some odd reason, the CLAM client doesn't properly discover peers (or use existing knowledge of peers) when you configure a proxy. It appears to ignore the contents of peers.dat, and the seed data returned from clam.just-dice.com - both of which contain plenty of information about peers.

The only solution seems to be to manually force peer connects by configuring them as addnodes, but this is not a viable long term solution.

Open a support ticket and wait! I'm waiting on a few deposits in.  It's been 6 hours.

You think that after they lost 1800 BTC... they would at least bother to fix the CLAM wallet or ask Doog/X for further free assistance.   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I heard that they passed that loss on to their customers - that all the people who were lending out BTC at some point about a week after the dump took the loss, whether they had loans active at the time of the big CLAM dump or not.

https://medium.com/circle-trader/overview-of-btc-margin-lending-pool-losses-a2f0905aaa56

"Today [June 7th], we recognized the generalized loss across lenders in the BTC margin lending pool. As a result, the principal of all active BTC loans as of 14:00 UTC today has been reduced by 16.202%. This action impacted 0.4% of Poloniex users."

My understanding is that any funds you loan are stored in a separate account at Poloniex, so I guess that means anyone who had BTC in their lending account took the loss, regardless of whether they had any active loans (or anything to do with CLAM).

Yeah, there's a forum thread on it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5151636.0

It was neglectful to allow such large positions to build up on margin.

I think you're misinterpreting what they wrote:

Quote
the principal of all active BTC loans as of 14:00 UTC today has been reduced by 16.202%

That's pretty clear: BTC loans which were active quite some time after the dump are the ones which took the haircut.
