6) mini-blockchain radically improves BTC scalability (Holy Grail of pruning)

Nice theory! +1
But: Is this new piece of technology really relevant for practitioners (meaning no-tech guys / real-world dudes)?

Speaking for myself, I want a full PoW node running on my phone ASAP.

Tailored sales pitch for rpietila:

1) Start with some hyperbolic upside talk.
2) Wine comparisons.(nice, someone knows his customer Wink)
3) Obligatory AnonyMint reference.
4) Make sure not to step on any XMR toes while making it clear that both currencies are the best thing since sliced bread.

Even if rpietila doesn't buy any XCN I think he should offer you a job as Head of Sales at Malla. Wink

Decrease in pumping potential of every new "short POW -> POS" scam with privacy vaporware is not insignificant. They may just die off relatively quickly altogether.

And that's exactly why mini-blockchains are useful: They help the currency to stay decentralized, because everybody can run a full node without a large effort or cost. While this is, of course, not a large sell point for the normal user, it's important to sustain a healthy network. Also it has the advantage to allow micro-transactions more and don't have to essentially ban them (like bitcoin)

Enthusiast. Neither trader, nor miner and also no big investor.

Thank God for small mercies.  I was worried that I would have to buy tights and a batmobile.

Disagree. I am fine with large early holders:   Only 3m coins have been mined, and another ~60m to mine in the next 12 months.

It is one problem less to worry about, but tights and a batmobile still may be handy as we may learn that some of miners of newer projects with good perspective do not obey all laws of physics and chemistry  Shocked

I will not invest in XCN at the moment. No use case for it yet. The fact that it has to compete directly to Bitcoin makes me rethink about its business model. I lost in Doge.

No doubt that XCN has innovation, it help reduce needed resource for full nodes and clients. However average users will end up using light-weight clients and web wallet anyway, that would be scenario of cryptocurrency if we could reach mass adoption. People who running full node will still be limited within crypto enthusiasts only, and the "reduced cost for running full node" is actually not a big different, hard drives are getting bigger and cheaper over time.

About XMR, it seems the price will break 0.00365 soon, order book doesn't look good.

So Monero Jesus's magic number of .00365 was broken. What happens now? I think any analysis involving what amounts to arbitrarily chosen magic numbers is pure bullshit.

It is great if Litecoin adopts mini-chain. It will be a huge win for Litecoin. However, I am not sure if Litecoin devs are competent. I have never thought that Litecoin coders are good

So Monero Jesus's magic number of .00365 was broken. What happens now? I think any analysis involving what amounts to arbitrarily chosen magic numbers is pure bullshit.

First, let's see close below 0.00365 to be clear of the situation. THEN:

That 0.00365 was broken, means that the uptrend that started July 13 in Poloniex when the price was 0.002315, is likely ended.

Thus no lower price cannot be ruled out, there is no real support in lower levels except 350 (soon broken), 250, 231 and 175.

Yes, breaking 365 means a great deal. It means that we are going down.
