I'm having some issues with SMF, anyone know how I can let users of a certain group read posts but no actually post in them? They most also be able to post in one board. So far it seems like newbies would have to log out to read posts which isn't user friendly.

You should be able to do it via admin pages,
create some groups then allow permissions for each group
I did that in the past on my corp Eve online forum

I've managed to that but I'm having trouble only allowing them to post in one thread.

The wallet release is on track for tonight.

It will be mainnet ready, and have the XNode code in the wallet.  It is fully decentralized.  

Just to clarify somethings as well - REV2 will have a solution to the bad actor problem.  Using a dynamic learning trust system, the wallet will choose the trusted nodes over the bad actor nodes.  This also will be tied into the fee system so it will also be incentive based.  

I will also be laying out a very high level roadmap of what’s next, what’s coming and long term plans.
As part of this process, I will be putting together a complete business plan, which will be release later this week.  


Also if your running an XNODE your 1000 XC's will not stake.  There is a feature in the wallet - reserve balance - which basically prevents those coins from staking.  Xnodes will need to use this feature so that the coins are available for the Xpool.

So you can get fucked a few times by bad actor nodes, then it learns to trust good ones? Requires trust you mean, as in not trustless? As in the government can buy Xnodes and make them run as intended to gain trust and then see all transactions?

That is no different than DRK. Nothing stopping the government buying a lot of DRK nodes. Hence the 1000 DRK requirement to make it costly.

Hey look at that.  People are actually starting to buy this coin on MP.  Hopefully they're getting word about the wallet release.

From the buy orders it looks like another pump. Hope we really get some marketcap soon that prevents these plays or at least makes it more expensive and riskier to manipulate the price.

I found the best way for to ban users, a karma system. If a users has -10 karma, I will personally look over the posts and see if they must be banned.

Sounds good, but isn't -10 a little bit to much? maybe reduce it -5?

Hmm go idea.. I was giving an example but you are right. -5 sounds like the best number

Good idea that prevents that you have to realtime scan like here.

Thanks. This reason why I love the XC name because it's short and can be adopted to stand for a lot of things. So the future you early guys will be the only ones that know what it stood for in the beginning.

I have been doing that for over a week now ever since I bought XC. The way it was going last week it seemed totally possible I was going to wake up and it was going to be 10x what it was the night before. Seems that way still now that the price has been kept down for so long.

You know what? That's not a bad idea, its like the trademark i for apple. XCloud could be the name of the mesh network. XClimate could be a decentralized real time weather service within the blockchain 2.0. XCent could be a 1/100 denomination for XC. XCurrent could be a decentralized global wave report application within the blockchain. ETC...

so possibly a noobish question here.  I backed up my wallet (mac client, newest release) and then encrypted my wallet. Now it seems that my wallet will not sync.  I've had it open for a day and a half now and its been synced until I encrypted it.  I also unlocked it to allow staking.  Is this normal?

I would give a bit more time teka as for now I did not see anything business like apart from the one taken by Xavier I don't think there is any rush for the logo better come up with the beat ones rather than amotorial ones. +1 if you agree

No sir, but it does happen. I'll help you solve this issue

Step one. Press start

Step two. type 'run' into search

Step three. open 'run' and type %appdata%

Step four. find your XC folder

Step five *** IMPORTANT. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR WALLET.DAT THAT IS ALL OF YOUR COINS.

NOT including wallet.dat , erase every other file within the XC folder. Seriously do not erase your wallet.dat.

Step six. YOU DONE NOW, open your wallet, it'll sync within no time.
