Hi guys,

I have a closed mining rig with 5 x 7950 hanging like bats and they each get around 4.6 Mh/s mining Dash.

I'm just using an old version of sgminer 4.2.2.. and I'm pulling 800 watts.

Does anyone have any experience of using any new graphics cards as I was thinking of upgrading them ?

Many thanks

Lee

You should switch to the nicehash miner for a 30% boost. The kuchur bins are doing 6MHASH in the x11 algo(dash) on the 7950

That is high rates. The 980ti is only doing 13MHASH with the opensource kernal.

Nope, latest kachur miner (5.1.0 optimized) from nicehash makes 10mh/s x11 on 7950 1100/1400

But with Xintensity at 1024 you get invalid shares, so lower hashrate on the pool. X 256 or 512 is the highest I can use..

2 Foss
Not every 7950 can do 1500mhz mem. Mine is Gigabyte rev. 2.0 undervolted with Hynix gddr5. It can only 1100 gpu / 1400 mem

2 24core
I use NiceHashMiner_v1.2.2.0\bin\sgminer-5-1-0-optimized from standard Nicehash download. With all default parameters except bitcoin address and without clock management. I use AMD Catalyst Control Center to manage clocks and fan speed.

For Eth, I found no difference between 14.6, 14.7, 15.x catalyst drivers. Do you find any difference? If any, what is the difference?

The new version is crashing on rigs wich need  --gpu-platform 1 as a parameter in sgminer.

1. gpu-platform 0 is the motherboard gpu.
2. gpu-platform 0 is a NVIDIA card.

sp_ and any NiceHash Miner (NHM) users that are experiencing issues with AMD cards not being detected or having fatal errors during NHM startup (.NET exception or "Unhandled exception when querying AMD OpenCL"):

Download this patch and just replace NiceHashMiner.exe in your existing folder NiceHashMiner_1.2.2.0 with .exe from this link. Please report back your findings if it fixes your issues. Thanks for the feedback!

p.s.: this is a patch for bugfixes only, no other improvements, no need to upgrade if NHM is working fine for you

btw: it would be great if someone who has a rig/PC with enabled Intel HD on-board GPU + additional AMD GPU in the same rig/PC would test this and report back ... thanks!

Best regards,
NiceHash team.

Is the R9 Fury X currently the best mining card available for AMD?
Though price wise, would be better to get 2 290X or 2 390X correct?(or 295x2 if they still sold them)

If you can get second hand 7950/7970/280/280x these would be the best price wise. Otherwise, if you can afford, go with AMD Nano. Stay away from Hawaii (290x, 390x) due to high power consumption and overheating issues.
