This is a present for you, a complete guide step by step to tune up your rigs:  https://mining.help
It´s writen to improve your ether rigs, but there´s a tab with the xmr/criptonight settings.

yep. I've got this too:

Code:
GpuMiner dk2an0 failed -4
will likely need to lower my eth default settings - less fmem frequency, more voltage probably (I normally run dual eth on 850mv )

In my case, im using 950 mv, and low core speed (1150mhz) but same error...

its possible other reasons?

Guys, have you tried -dmem 0 in your config

I see this error before and were solved with this

Check previous post , play with -h and -dmem parameter

This version is not so easy to use because you have to adjust "-h" and "-dmem" values often, I will try to improve it soon.
1. "-dmem 1" requires twice more memory, make sure you have enough virtual memory. For example, if you have 6 GPUs 8GB, set virtual memory to 6*8=48GB.
2. Check how much memory miner allocates, it shows something like "(Memory used: 5128MB)", make sure you have this memory on your GPU.
3. You can see low hashrate if you use almost all memory on GPU, try to reduce "-h" value a bit.

Guys if you are getting the "GpuMiner dk2an0 failed" error, be sure to note Claymore's comments above. I was initially getting the same error with my RX480 8GB rig. Lowering to -h 1024 will solve the issue but make the program only see 4GB on my cards. After changing page file to 48GB, the miner runs beautifully with default -h and -dmem settings.

Ellesmere RX480 8GB, same modded BIOS, default miner settings:
CryptoNote Miner 9.7 - 850 H/s
CryptoNote Miner 10 - 987 H/s

Thanks Claymore!

i tried to download from mega but it sais i need flash (a very insecure platform) so i tried google drive

google drive said the files was a virus

i found a workaround  you have to copy to your drive then download.

chrome may say it is infected  click keep infected fiile.

it may be because i am using an older version of chrome on osx 10.7.5

the suggestion: you may want to try double zipping or even triple zipping  (file.zip.zip   file.zip.zip.zip)

password protect the downloads and post the password*

*= i just read on google that password protecting may not work as some programs may be able to see through encryption.

you could pack it in an installer package and encrypt that.

Now using Claymore 11.3 mining Monero with -pow7 1 and it works wonderfully.
All my RX 570s hashing at 850-855H/s  Cheesy
Claymore, you are the champ!
Can you give me the detail of config, thanks ?

Sure,
this is my command line

NsGpuCNMiner.exe -pow7 1 -h 928 -dmem 1 -xpool stratum+ssl://europe.cryptonight-hub.miningpoolhub.com:20580 -xwal bobben.%computername% -xpsw %computername%

The above -h value is for 4 gig cards.  If you hasve 8 gig cards, then you can set that value higher.

I use OverdriveNTool to set gpu core clock (P7)  to 1150 and mem (P2) to 2000.

Hi there,

Since I have downloaded the new version it works perfectly untill I start CPU miner and all of sudden rig crashes, even if I start afterburner or crimson it crashes.

Anyone has any idea why? I did try to reduce clocks but still it crashes.

Trying to mine Sumo?  Claymore 11.3 does not support CN Heavy.
Look here to find a miner that can mine you Sumokoin.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2345911.0
Actually, the pool is very good here.  It suggests to you which miner to use.

Hi Telep.
Hello friends, I think the reason is that, as explained by Calymore, version 11.3 does not support the 500 series: "This version is for recent AMD videocards only: 7xxx, 2xx, 3xx and 4xx, 1GB or more."

The experts of this forum could expand if this statement is true. Thank you

I have 2 Rigs and im using this command: -xpool XXXXX -xwal XXXXXX -xpsw XXXXX -pow7 1 -dmem 1 -h 896

- x6 MSI 4G RX570 -> 2.4 mhs (cap to exactly 400hs each)
- x5 NITRO 4G RX570 -> 3.6 mhs (720~ each)

Both rigs running at 950core/2000mem and BIOS modified timmings (by polaris app).

I think its a bit weird same command and very different results with this new claymore, if i switch to xmrig or xmr-amd-stak everything is fine!

The only way to make the MSI rig faster is by adding -dmem 0 and -h 632 and that gives only about 3.7mhs(vs 4.2 on other miners app) which still very low considering it has one more gpu than the other rig ...

work fine on 470

also for 380 2G default -h is to high it try to use more than 2g memory and fails

I googled the error and found post #4625 explains what's going on.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=638915.msg22374228#msg22374228

It has to do with not having enough virtual memory.

-dmem 0 prevents it from using double your memory and fixes the issue or you can adjust your virtual memory accordingly.

Seems like monero is much more memory intensive than ether mining. Lots of errors showing up now on my machines.

But anyone know why Claymore miner manager won't work when you're running Monero? I tried google... but no luck!

Yeah, this is correct for xmr-stak, cast-xmr, sgminer, and probably every other cryptonight miner.  Take your memory on all your video cards, add it up, and you need at least that much virtual memory.  Yeah, it sucks, because you can't use a very small SSD.

For sure. Wish I had researched this before hand. Would've definitely spent some more money on a larger SSD.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

No idea about this, didn't even know it existed.

Anyone have any idea if it is yet possible to get good hashrates out of a linux setup with VEGA?
Did AMD ever release good drivers for linux?  How about the windows drivers, are we still stuck with
the August 23 blockchain drivers?

There are a lot cryptonight miners around that a much better than Claymore's. So if he doesn't want to continue development - leave 0% fee and exit is a right move!

Name it.
xmr stak
cast xmr
sgminer-gm 5-5-5
SRBminer

Thanks for those recommendations.  I'll give Cast and SgMiner a go to see how they do.  I have a feeling Cast may suit me well.
I use xmr-stak or sgminer.  Some motherboards (or is it the cards?) seem to like one over the other.
Some seem to prefer CastXMR but as it is closed source, I can't verify that the reported hashrate isn't a lie, so I don't use it.

Hi all,

I have not used Claymore before and have just set it up for my Vega rig,

I am getting approx 1750 h/s per card with xmr-stak this was nearer 2000 h/s

The miner displays the message 'this miner is not optimised for Vega'

Can someone tell me what I need to change and where.

I have tried several settings in config but they just make things slower or not work at all.

Thanks

castXmr is very efficient for Vegas
Are you sure about that?  Cast is closed-source.  Unless you (or someone) have a lot of VEGAs and have collected a lot of data over time, you probably have no idea if Gandalf hasn't padded the stats by 5-10%.  I guess the same thing can be said for binaries from any source.

XMR-STAK and SGminer both give comparable hashrates if configured correctly.  Besides, why run your cards at 1900-2000+ H/s with profitability where it is now?  Let them run cooler and save the fan bearings.
