Logo Update

I just wanted to say a few quick things about this logo design. For those here on the forums looking to do designs and submit them, let me give you a brief background on what we were using as inspiration.

We wanted two types of design entries.

1. A more stylized and professional lunate sigma that would still be what you have all seen as the Crypti logo, but more unique to us than a stock font. The recently submitted "Yield Sign" with the "C" in the middle and the green background is a good example of something that fits this bill. It's still a "C", but it adds something more to the design.

2. The second thing we were looking for was something outside of the box that eluded to what Crypti will become. That is, an entire ecosystem for commerce. XCR is just the coin, but Crypti is an entire network. It's a platform for someone with an idea to take that idea from the very beginning stages, through funding, through development, and straight to selling it in the app store, all in one platform, with no scaling costs or exorbitant fees. It's unique and it's more than paypal, or kickstarter, or an App Store, it's complete freedom from securing high interest loans, banking fees, payment processor fees, and the burdens and regulations associated with the typical startup process.

Now, if you could incorporate both ideas into 1 logo, then you win.

Those are pretty much the rules. Have at it! ;-)

Keep in mind, we have posted an entire write-up on how the system is meant to work. You are more than welcome to try to "restart" and come up with a solution. We are always open to input from the community. The problem is that in order to use node-uptime as a property in our system, all nodes must send out requests saying they are alive with specific information and those requests must all get accepted and confirmed through the network with consensus and must do it in a 60 second timeframe. If you have any idea what that means, it's not an easy task, especially when you start incorporating slow connections, systems with different time settings (which we saw when we added windows), and attacks on nodes disrupting the entire system.
Now it sounds like POT is simply impossible to implement  Cry

I got some directions for the new logo/brand. pretty ones, but I would love to see the brief so I can judge it/make modifications.
Did you start the competition on 99 already? should I just post it here?

I'd love to hear your ideas or see them. Essentially we are looking for either a more sleek and professional version of the lunate sigma expanded or something that represent our overall goal of being a startup solution in a box and commerce payment platform.

After packaging everything nicely I've made a final effort to search for similar logos, realizing this is pretty close to well known logo.
Actually, It seems I see this logo a lot during my evenings. my tricky unconscious mind :/
Maybe I've started it as unconscious inspiration, not diverting it enough? IDK..
Even showed it today to my family, possibly with the original one in the background without anyone noticing.
I did a small research on C logos for inspiration when approached this, but not on google :/ silly me.
I'm still gonna post it here, because I was really proud of it until few minutes ago, But I'm not sure we would like to use it as is even if it's possible.
Adding the process and inspiration board, maybe someone can fork/suggest a previous step..

Can we re-visit this comment Hobogo? What was the logo that it is similar to? I couldn't find it. I originally didn't comment on your logo because I got caught up with the logo contest and testnet, but I don't recognize the logo. Obviously we can't use it if it's similar to something else, but I can't seem to figure out what that something else is. Does anyone recognize it?

BTW, thank you for your work on the logo you designed. I actually think it's pretty nice and like it better than some of the finalists Terminator esque submissions we got on 99designs. I'm really trying to keep it simple and not futuristic or over-stylized and some of the submissions we got were just crazy.

Anyways, does anyone know what logo it looks like? I can't place it...

Try to google for "cc logo" images, and scroll down a bit. you will recognize it. actually kinda funny. (I got it on the 7th row)
Was there a reason not to share the contest link from the start as planned?

I like that.

Did you try different colors?  I like the metallic sheen.... classy.  We have a lot of talent out there in the Crypti commmunity.

@ SyRenity & Boris

This is the 4th day now where there haven't been any blocks on the network. What is going on? The thing is you say that, this is due to the PoT forging "difficulty" between Windows & Linux, but that was a minor bug, which you could've fixed in a TestNet. How is it that it affects the main chain? Are you trying to fix the PoT forging on a live network? What is causing the blockchain to go 4 days without any blocks?

If you actually gave us a legitimate reason as to why the network is "down", then we would understand, but you guys have virtually said nothing through this whole period. GreXX and samsmith16 have been the only ones on here posting, and even then most people still don't know what's going on.

The rest of the team's lack of communication during this period has been downright terrible, it's as if you guys think that having the network down, without a single block in 4 days is no cause for worry. A tiny update at least would be nice

Okay, as I mentioned earlier I didn't really like any of the new logo designs. I've adapted the current logo to create the one below, if you notice the "C" has been edited slightly to look less chunky. I've kept the Crypti font as I really like it and I've tried to keep the same color scheme as the current one. So just to show you guys what I mean, here it is :

#Take note I didn't have access to the actual font used in the current logo, I had to re-create it in Illustrator so that's why the fonts may look a bit jagged and rough. Also I just re-did this in about 10 minutes so the quality isn't all that good, when i have more time I'll redo it proper.

I like this one the best out of all the ones I've seen.

I do as well. Maybe keep 45 degree to -45 degree standard C instead of 90 degree to -90 degree with tangent lines to right. Definitely prefer the full round fillets on the ends of all characters and logo, and the modern font.

Also Crypti team gathered 650BTC or more so I suppose they can hire another specialist to help them solve the problem with network...
If this situation will continue people will start to sell what they have on exchanges.

GreXX posted earlier today that the network is undergoing testing with new code, using different operating systems, different speeds, etc.

In other words, the mechanic is test driving your car after installing the new engine, so you have to wait a little longer for that trip to the mall.

The question then is, why is it being tested on a LIVE network. Testing such as that should be running in TestNet, never on the the live network. I really don't think they would be incompetent enough to stop a running network to test new code, when they could do the same in a TestNet. There must be some other reason for them to stop a live network.

Yeah we all know it but when we have no possibility of any transactions/forging since few days there can be two scenarios: Devs dont know exactly how to fix it or problem is so huge that they are trying new approach of some technical issues. Anyway it seems to be huge problem. Another thing is if they cant estimate when problem will be solved then my theory becomes more real. If I am wrong devs please correct me.

With those kind problems you can never really estimate when you will find a solution! Anyway if there are major issues they probably already involved some other devs aswell. I believe they would also like that network runs perfectly ASAP!
