i told dev i want they deliver , now they are not only slow but going backward. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 4 day offline trust me it will be 2 weeks. More like building on the code they created. I don't see it as a step back but just ensuring the network works before going viral. We all knew this would happend on one occasion or the other. When you deal with new code you will encounter bugs, errors, and growing pains as network expands. This is really no surprise because they built everything themselves. on the top of my head I can't name any innovative coin that didn't go through a phase of sorting their code due to some unforseen circumstance that opted them to. Now that the network has been offline for a couple days is bad but necessary. One can hope they sort it sooner than later but as I see it they are on top of it. As you can see, the price is ok stable because the people who invested in this have patience and faith in the developer team as they should. So to throw out "amateur" or the such is wrong in my opinion I don't feel like there are many developer teams like this... imagine the same scenario in a thread of another coin. People would run for their lives because they don't really believe the developers or their capabilities of sorting stuff. Or they simply don't care for the coin and just want a quick RoI. The bottom line is I don't feel they are amateurs I feel they handle it ok. The one thing I can agree too is that I feel there should be more developers so we can speed up the coding process. For this to happend I feel like the Crypti team might have to take it down a notch (as in realizing there are many talented developers other than themselves) because what you need is manpower. I believe you set up mid october - late october for your short term goals right now that doesn't look too near if this isn't resolved soon and that will dissapoint even myself whom is a pretty calm investor but like I said new things take time and patience is often rewarded because it is a rare condition in these parts. /rant off /5KB

I don't like the logos from 99desings, neither the last one. I wasn't suggesting that the logo I posted above should be used at all, I was just trying to show the different fonts that could be used for it. Though I do think that it looks a ton better than the 99designs logo's. The bottom line here is that the team excluding GreXX need to catch a wake-up in design. You guys got it lucky with your previous designer as he knew more or less what he was doing, Crypti the way it currently looks is a testament to that. GreXX is your creative designer and he's in charge of design and I know that no creative designer, given the appropriate amount of money, would post something as big as logo design on a "contest site". As you all can see how terribly the community has reacted towards these designs, hopefully now you learn that you simply can't skimp on design. You guys have over 750 BTC, why don't you actually use it? Give GreXX the opportunity to hire a proper design team and get Crypti's branding done properly. What I'm posting below is for the community to see. I've come up with an outlay for Crypti's whole design process, based on a $15 000 budget and a 2-month time frame. $15 000 is about 35 BTC at the current exchange rate, which is really not that much considering how big of an impact Crypti's branding will make. OutlaySTEP 1 : Establish Branding GuidelinesThis whole step is about laying the framework for other designers. The way to do it is to create branding guidelines that other designers can follow. This helps establish a brand image and design style which other designers can continue. For this you would need to hire a branding specialist to design Crypti's brand image and design guidelines and create a design kit, which is basically a bundle of all branding design assets. The cost for this is around ~$3000 - $4000The branding guidelines would be the logo, color palette used for design and defining the design style used for Crypti. It would be in the form of a write up such as these (Very Important Look at Links Below) : http://www.google.com/design/spec/material-design/introduction.html#https://www.behance.net/gallery/9028077/google-visual-assets-guidelines-part-1https://www.behance.net/gallery/Google-Visual-Assets-Guidelines-Part-2/9084309 This is by far the most important process, as it will be the foundation for the rest of Crypti's design. With these guidelines any designer can create designs that match the rest of Crypti's design aesthetic. STEP 2 : Main Website DevelopmentNow that you have your branding guidelines established and design foundation set, you can move onto your website. For this you hire a specialist Web development and design team. You provide them with your brand/design guidelines and they design and code a site that matches Crypti's branding guidelines, it's a pretty straightforward process. The cost for this is around ~$4000STEP 3 : Wallet UI RedesignNow that the website is completed, the next step is the new Wallet UI. For this you'll need to hire a UI/UX designer and simply provide him/her with the design guidelines from Step 1. The designer will put together some mockups for you and once you approve a final version, will finish and export the design. The cost for this is around ~$5000 Designers for each stepAll of the designers I've provided will fit into the allocated budget for each step, I would know as I've asked for quotes on design work in the past (where I needed to work with other designers). Now I want, you, the community to take a look at the designers' work here and compare it to the types of design that we saw on 99designs. You'll notice a HUGE difference in quality. @Devs, I have provided multiple possible designers to choose for each stage, as well as a plan itself to help you guys get through the whole process. The ball is now in your half of the court, the community wants to see better designs. @Community, if any of you want to see Crypti's logo and branding to be on par with the work done by the designers above, then post "We want better designs!"

There have been many times over the past few months I've thought "to hell with it, sell everything and move on". But there was something about the idea behind Crypti, and the dev's, that keep me invested that I can't let go of. It wasn't until I read your post that I realized why. I've worked in IT for the past ten years or so. As an administrator, I've had more than one opportunity to work with in house programmers working on custom builds for very specific requirements. A lot of the things I've worked with have been basically taking the backend of several different packages and piecing them together into a front end that is seamless, useful and intuitive to the end user. That task alone was hard enough and a year in the planning/build/rebuild stages. Not to mention the need to come up with changes on the fly as other software it relied on was updated. Eventually we decided to build our own complete package from the ground up. SQL backend, NT integrated, etc. We had a team of competent designers that took almost two more years to get a final product. Working around the clock, full time, as their professional job and it still took us almost two years. So, for me, these minor setbacks with Crypti are put into perspective when I look back to previous projects I've worked on. "A beginner trains until he can do something right. This is what we all (comunity) should be doing - giving solutions to issues and not only critisizing! I feel the same way actually - it would be much better to choose one proffesional designer with references and then leave him to do a complete branding. This way you have one guy-maybe team thats going to really focus on Crypti idea and will definately make great design. Usually quality logo and branding costs around 500eur but it could cost more if theres more work to be done. I believe that the results would be better - and crypti need superb and profesional design.

Making a contest in 99 is not a bad idea by itself for certain purposes (getting new ideas, or make/remake a well defined project) , but there are certain rules in order to get with a good result and "fish" the participation of the professional designers over there (which are few and mostly doing it as an hobby until coming to the obvious agenda against the platform). Your suggested designers looks professional. @Wulfcastle I like the first font you used there, as it got a lot of character. can you name it please? Intuitively I think it won't suit Crypti, but I can't tell since I don't have the tools to judge it upon. Judging results should be based on pre-defined goals, just like in everything else. In order to even have an educated discussion we need those pre defined goals and values we want this logo to commute. otherwise it's just a matter of personal taste, which may differ. When having those, we can brake it down and judge the result by the nature of it, and even ask those who are unfamiliar with the goals, to see if we manged to achieve what we wanted. The real work should be on defining those goals, leaving this to the designer is possible only if he have the resources/time to understand what Crypti is and build his own vision (which better be moderated and approved) This should ease the work of every designer out there, both pro and beginners. will be even more noticeable for the website/wallet UI/complete brand.

Made in mspaint, but you get the point ~informer Here is what I was able to do in MS Paint. I no longer have a computer with photoshop on it, so I have to use Paint. The logo needs work, like perhaps color work, thicker/thinner C, reduced size of the earth dot, etc. I even thought about making the tail of the C into an arrow

My idea for the logo is to show that Crypti is for the whole world, and I purposely chose a blue marble that was not US centered.

We need the community to provide some input and design ideas.
Crypti is a community effort. SO while we are waiting for the node to be debugged, lets work on a logo or two.

I get you LMK. I just think the exercise is fun and community oriented. If it's used great, if not I haven't lost anything but we've gained the practice of bouncing ideas off one another. This may not be a winner but someone may see something in it and spark another idea and so on. ~informer

I think its not bad that devs are changing code. Why? Because they might come up with something much better.
That only means the network is evolving.
No worries here!
But on the other hand changing code means: if devs knew that the code was bad but used it - this "network" was only a demo (not beta, not alfa) and may be it must be restarted; if devs discovered that code was bad only now - there is no guarantee that their new code will not be bad again, this is incompetence.

I dont think they are incompetent. I think that unexpected issues came so they have decided to change a few things. I read a book once The Lean startup. Its pretty good book IMO and it shows you how every succesful company had to restructure their system, product, service,.... many times to get perfect results. They failed and lost lots of time to get it right but at the end it was worth it! Its definetly not incompetence its just when something is launched then you see much more that when you are planning.

The issue is, you can't test for everyones varying hardware setups, network connections, or delays in requests and that makes getting all of the requests and consensus difficult to map out. Our system worked perfectly when scaled on 50 nodes running on different hosting platforms and our scaling projections appeared as though it would work up to 10s of thousands of nodes with no problem. And then we launched. The system actually worked quite well at first but once the nodes started to climb and we started to see people running them in very different locations and sometimes improperly setup on different hardware and connection speeds which caused unforeseen bugs to pop up. We also saw several attacks on the network in just the short time it has been around. We saw malformed packets, DDoS attacks on nodes, as well as people sending fake requests, or at least, what to the network looked like fake requests. These various aspects were hitting the fork processing so often that the network was starting to skip blocks and hit 2 minute, sometimes 3 minute block times. Over time, it was causing the network to stop. This is unacceptable so changes needed to be made. Bottom line is, you can't prepare for every possible occurrence and these are growing pains that Bitcoin and NXT both saw in the early days. They saw multiple attacks and even rolled back their block chains multiple times throughout their early days. Keep in mind, we have posted an entire write-up on how the system is meant to work. You are more than welcome to try to "restart" and come up with a solution. We are always open to input from the community. The problem is that in order to use node-uptime as a property in our system, all nodes must send out requests saying they are alive with specific information and those requests must all get accepted and confirmed through the network with consensus and must do it in a 60 second timeframe. If you have any idea what that means, it's not an easy task, especially when you start incorporating slow connections, systems with different time settings (which we saw when we added windows), and attacks on nodes disrupting the entire system.

I got some directions for the new logo/brand. pretty ones, but I would love to see the brief so I can judge it/make modifications. Did you start the competition on 99 already? should I just post it here?
I'd love to hear your ideas or see them. Essentially we are looking for either a more sleek and professional version of the lunate sigma expanded or something that represent our overall goal of being a startup solution in a box and commerce payment platform. After packaging everything nicely I've made a final effort to search for similar logos, realizing this is pretty close to well known logo. Actually, It seems I see this logo a lot during my evenings. my tricky unconscious mind :/ Maybe I've started it as unconscious inspiration, not diverting it enough? IDK.. Even showed it today to my family, possibly with the original one in the background without anyone noticing. I did a small research on C logos for inspiration when approached this, but not on google :/ silly me. I'm still gonna post it here, because I was really proud of it until few minutes ago, But I'm not sure we would like to use it as is even if it's possible. Adding the process and inspiration board, maybe someone can fork/suggest a previous step.. Can we re-visit this comment Hobogo? What was the logo that it is similar to? I couldn't find it. I originally didn't comment on your logo because I got caught up with the logo contest and testnet, but I don't recognize the logo. Obviously we can't use it if it's similar to something else, but I can't seem to figure out what that something else is. Does anyone recognize it? BTW, thank you for your work on the logo you designed. I actually think it's pretty nice and like it better than some of the finalists Terminator esque submissions we got on 99designs. I'm really trying to keep it simple and not futuristic or over-stylized and some of the submissions we got were just crazy. Anyways, does anyone know what logo it looks like? I can't place it...
